1. Davis DT

3. Bryant CB
4. Melton WR
6. Coan QB
7a. Volson OG
7b. Chandler RB

Good call on Cole Kelley, Supe. I like the kid. And he's actually bigger than Big Ben!

My mock:

1:20 Andrew Booth, CB, Clemson
2:52 Jaquan Brisker, S, Penn State
3:84 David Bell, WR, Purdue
4:138 Tyreke Smith, E, Ohio St.
6:208 Zach Thomas, OT, San Diego St.
7:225 Abram Smith, RB, Baylor
7:241 Cole Kelley, QB, SE Louisiana

We need a CB1 and Booth can be that guy.
Brisker is an excellent athlete; if his shoulder is 100% he's a steal at #52.
David Bell can be every bit the player JJSS was for us.
T. Smith has big upside and can provide quality depth from day one.
Thomas is a big man.
Smith here because we NEED a Baylor back! (somewhere, Frank Pollard smiles)

1.20-Chris Olave, WR, Ohio State
There are some pretty good options here with Olave, Booth, and Davis. The Steelers are just a bit more settled at cornerback than at wide receiver. Olave is a deep threat and one of the best route runners in the draft.

2.52-Travis Jones, IDL, UConn
I know the Steelers need a safety, but after passing on a trench player in the first I didn't want to do the same in the second. With depth in place at DE, he would provide some much-needed help on the interior.

3.84-Leo Chenal, LB, Wisconsin
I don't expect the combination of Bush/Jack to be long-term options at the position, so I'm planning ahead. Value is very good right here.

4.138-Tyreke Smith, EDGE, Ohio State
As with the previous pick, this is planning ahead a bit. The Steelers have no depth at EDGE and this will help in that area as well as be a potential replacement for Highsmith when his contract runs out. I'd also strongly consider Damarri Mathis here.

6.208-Pierre Strong, RB, South Dakota State
Trying to add depth to the position, not that he'll be used much.

7.225-Quentin Lake, S, UCLA
The Steelers like bloodlines and it feels like Heyward or Lake will land on the Steelers. Should be able to develop into a role player at safety and eventually into a good special teams player. We know how the Steelers like drafting special teamers on Day 3.

7.241-Damone Clark, LB, LSU
Top notch character who probably won't play in 2022 due to health. Fine with me. I'm willing to take a risk on a medical red flag this late in the draft due to his upside.

Gearing up for the QB rush in 2023.

Potential #1 WR, solid DT/NT/3-tech, solid OT who will challenge Okorafor for a starting spot, back-up RB, gifted CB, and a slot WR.

Oh, and a 1st and a 3rd in the 2023 draft.

Actually mocking Supe's mock this time.

20. Jordan Davis DL Georgia
52. Jaquan Brisker S Penn St.
84. Alec Pierce WR Cincinnati
138. Jalyn Armour-Davis CB Alabama
208. Pierre Strong RB South Dakota State
225. Cordell Volson OT North Dakota State
241. Damone Clark LB LSU

I would love this draft. Davis, Heyward, Alualu, Loudermilk, Adams and possibly Tuitt on the DL, Brisker and Armour-Davis (underrated prospect) to short up the secondary, a freaking robbery getting Clark that late, while the offense adds a genuine deep threat, a backup RB, and a developmental tackle/guard.

Yes, please.

Round 1 Pick 20: Jordan Davis, DT, Georgia (A)
Round 2 Pick 20: Devonte Wyatt, DT, Georgia (B+)
Round 3 Pick 20: Marcus Jones, CB, Houston (A+)
Round 4 Pick 33 (COMP): Darrian Beavers, ILB/OLB, Cincinnati (A+)
Round 6 Pick 29: Quay Walker, ILB/OLB, Georgia (A+)
Round 7 Pick 4: Trae Barry, TE, Boston College (A+)
Round 7 Pick 20: Changa Hodge, WR, Virginia Tech (A+)

Not that I think Davis is actually going to be there at 20. but he was for me.

So if Darrian covered Miles in practice that would be referred to as Boykin Beavers.

🤔

20. Chris Olave, WR, Ohio St.
52. Travis Jones, DT, UConn
84. Nick Cross, S, Maryland
138. Jayln Armour-Davis, CB, Alabama
208. EJ Perry, QB, Brown
225. Cordell Volson, OG/OT, North Dakota St.
241. Connor Heyward, RB, Michigan St.

I like it. Good draft, particularly Cross at 84 and Armour-Davis at 138. If I had to pick a guy who is generally thought to be available in round 4 or even round 5 but goes top-100, it would be Armour-Davis.

I'd be happy with any of these mocks but not sure what reality will bring come draft day.

I'm happy today and will be happy regardless of what happen in our GREATEST draft since 70's.

Salute the nation

20- Jordan Davis, DL, Georgia
52 - Desmond Ridder, QB, Cincinnati
84 - Calvin Austin III, WR, Memphis
138 - Mario Goodrich, CB, Clemson
208 - Tycen Anderson, S, Toledo
225 - Luke Tenuta, OT, Virginia Tech
241 - Ty Chandler, RB, North Carolina

Stryker's Mock:
20- Davis DT, we have to take that value here!
52- Ridder QB He's my favorite QB in this draft and I'm not passing on him
84- Khalil Shakir WR I want a slot guy that isn't teeny like Austin. Plays PR/KR, and can run the ball. Would be a diverse weapon for Canada
138- Percy Butler SS - Hard hitter, excellent ST, fast as hell! Has size and speed to play in the NFL
208- Pierre Strong RB - Give me the FCS Walter Peyton Award winner to back up Najee.
241- Heyward's brother TE/FB/ST, with a chance to make the team as a special teamer, TE3, and backup FB, this is excellent value here. (Though it would be a no brainer to add him as a UDRFA, and there is zero chance he'd choose another team).

I remember my first Steelers draft. Wasted the 1st round pick on a slightly-built WR, then reached for an undersized LBer from a low-level team, and then - unbelievable! - drafted ANOTHER WR, followed by a freaking nothing C.

I remember Steeler Nation agreed it was the worst draft ever.

Don't forget that small school nobody Safety they grabbed as a FA.

I would rather have a T in the first round. If no 1st round talent is available I would trade back (if possible). The question I have about Davis is this: Can he be a 3-4 down player? If yes, then he is the right choice in this mock if staying put at pick 20. If not, a 2 down player isn't worth a 1st round pick, IMO.

While I, a huge fan of the 3/4, would like Davis in the first… I almost guarantee they will not take him unless he falls to the second or third because this staff traditionally undervalues NTs like a ton… i think they would entertain Wyatt there before Davis…
