A source I trust just said.....

5.5 would currently put him in the top16 of RB contracts.... for a rb, that is paid...
It actually puts him right at 20th in average per year. And there are a few guys on rookie deals that will get extended shortly and will bump that further down. It's not RB1 money

It's funny all the attention the offense gets. Our D sucked and has holes everywhere. No lead was safe

So here is what I think is a million dollar question. You give 5 million to Warren. It wouldn't have been much more then that to pick up Harris option. In essence you chose Warren over Harris. So someone explain to me why when the chips were down last year season on line they didn't really go with Warren? What changed in 3 months here.
Exactly. I'm pissed.

Dumb decision - Warren, love his vision and speed; but HE'S NOT A THREE DOWN BACK for the entire season!!! We let a great teammate and good RB go for PEAFUCKINGNUTS!!!!

Unless we extend Warren we are right back in this same spot next season. Or do they expect to draft a starter this season?

Yes, I’m thinking they think they can find a good RB this year’s draft. I’m thinking they think they 3rd/4th.

Najee prob had a lot to say about that. They declined his 5th year option after all, and was a very vocal player about the need to prepare better as a team. It was prob more that he jumped ship than they let him go

I see your Bama glasses are on and raise you my GA Bulldog glasses 🤓

Would rather snag Etienne late on a rookie deal that pays half that total for four years of control rather than paying a career 4 ypc back almost 10 million for 1 year.

Plenty of solid backs in the draft and RBs are a dime a dozen…snag two and it’ll still only cost 20 cents, now that’s 🥜

Another hole on the roster. Should’ve picked up his 5th year option, IMO. It’ll be interesting to see what Harbaugh does with him.

I hear yaz berm and thanks for all your great post(s) along the way.

This Franchise is slipping into ****-show status, some of the decisions being made are WTF moments………….

I do see Najee as being able to be replaced.

RE-action and not PRO-action, getting to be the same show over and over

The moment he spoke against the team leadership his time was done here

Kaleb Johnson, DJ Giddens, Bhayshul Tuten, Dylan Sampson, Ollie Gordon, Quinshon Judkins, Raheim Sanders... They'll have options

We need to move from the “for every action there is an equal and opposite reaction” to a new formula

After much peyote I’ve cracked the formula “for every non action or bad action a more powerful pro-action is required”

He will make him look like the back we always wanted.

O lines, good play calls and professional schemes are a helluva drug
It will be interesting to watch if Najee suddenly turns into the back the Steelers thought they were drafting.

Usually when players leave, with few exceptions, they're pretty much done, but I wonder if that trend is changing.

Only a one year deal. Odd.
He's betting on himself. Looking at the FA RB list for next year, very slim pickings. If he plays really well in that system, it could pay off big time. He signed for 3m more than his 5th year option, and would have been a FA next year, he gets to do it again now.

Even at 5 million I still wanted another Running Back....Certainly he ain't worth 9 million...

He never really could close out games, which is odd cause that means he really never wore defenses down.......We ALWAYS gave the ball back If we had a lead at the end of the game and our Defense had to save the game with an INT or FUMBLE...

Najee wasn't into the Steelers current way. I respect him.

Weird. I don't remember our defense saving games via TO for years now. Infact they always seemed to have been giving up leads late in the game.

Slipping into? This team has been a **** show for the last 5-7 years. This year is more glaring because I think most people didn't think it could get worse. Well, it has.

That said, Najee is probably the easiest player to replace.

Drink, like I mentioned yesterday in another thread. We’re experiencing the perfect storm here.
Incompetent, feckless owner, an unqualified GM who is really a numbers guy and not a talent evaluator, and a very overrated and mediocre head coach. Marry all that up with one of the smallest and underwhelming coaching staffs in the league.
What could go wrong with that?
The franchise refuses to evolve into today’s NFL and is squarely stuck in its past successes.
It all starts with the owner who I’m afraid is a throwback to his grandfather who was a nice man but horrible owner. It was his son Dan who was instrumental in turning things around as most of us know. Idk what the hell the future holds for this franchise but I’m very concerned.
