Aaron Rodgers Contract Offer With Steelers Is Reportedly A Massive Number

The vikings are going all in on JJ. They aren't going after Rodgers. As for his ask, according to Tone Diggs on the Pat McAfee show, the 90 for 2 is BS. Considering they have a pretty solid relationship with him (on every Tuesday during the season), I'll take their word for it.

But I learned why it might be taking so long, and also why the Slay signing is dragging...if designated as a post June 1st cut, the release isn't official until Wed at 4pm. Unlike other releases, they can't even announce signings like with everyone else until then as well.

But the way I'm seeing things, I think their plan is to sign Rodgers, draft Shough and let him sit behind Rodgers. Just what I'm thinking based on visits and meetings and such

This **** with Rogers reeks of Brandon Aiyuk last year. holding the Steelers hostage for more money to play where he really wants to play. Khan is a Idiot. Rooney has ****** this team from top to bottom.

Letting Fields walk for 20 million a season is one of the worst decisions these morons could have made this year. but we still have plenty of time to see if they can **** things up even more.
I've never fully understood the love some have for Fields. It feels like he was a high draft pick and has been a starter for a few years, so many feel the team should have signed him long-term. I hope the kid has success with the Jets, but I didn't see much last year to indicate that Fields would develop under Tomlin's staff. Yes, he had a winning record, but the offense was mostly bad. The defense carried the load for most of the season, then ran out of gas the last month of the year just like they do almost every year.

I don't know if Fields would have been anything more than a serviceable QB for a couple years. but he was young and can run. 20 Million for a starting QB is nothing. I am with Blitz and have been saying the same thing since Ben left. stop with the Non-losing season **** take a bad season next year and go after Manning. I would be trading draft picks like they were sports cards this year to have draft capital to go get Arch.

Khan is an abomination. Crazy that people couldn't see that long ago. smh

Well, Antonio Brown said the 2 year Rodgers deal with the Steelers is a done deal, so it must be true.

For those thinking that A-A Ron is holding the Steelers hostage. While the Jets have said they are going to release him; and have given him permission to talk to other teams, he can't sign anything until they actually do release him. It's not a FA situation. And, the Jets are not going to release him until tomorrow, when they can designate him as a Post-June 1st cut and save some salary cap space.
So, maybe the deal is done and they aren't announcing it yet because he can't sign it until tomorrow.

Let's just have 1 real bad losing season and reset

The contract extension would keep the problem here. I’d like his last season to be the failure, so as the new regime would get to have their QB / players / coaches instead of inheriting.

BUT

If the down season would expedite the removal of Captain Groundhog Day sooner………
let the drums roooooolllLLLLL to the tune of Roman orrs-men at “ramming” speed……

Salute the nation

I think Rodgers is way better than Wilson. I’ve seen quite enough of Russ. But honestly, I think we should tank this year and reset next year as someone else said. But that isn’t gonna happen so might as well see what Rodgers has left. He is now, or should be fully healed from the Achilles and he can still sling it. I think he has a couple good years left in him. The big question isn’t him, it’s the offensive line protecting him.

Carful, you'll be accused of being a Clown-lin hater.

Read that the Titans are negotiating with Ole Russ. And that the Giants and Steelers are waiting on Rodgers to make a decision.
And that the Steelers are interested in bringing back Mason in a backup role.

I'd love to see A-Aron in black & gold.
1). He's not afraid to throw over the middle.
2). He's 3 years removed from MVP and he's better than anything we've had since Ben retired.
3). He can read and dissect a defense and get us into the right play.
4). He'll ignore Tomlin / Smith and make things happen like Ben did late in games and give us a damn chance.
5). He is known to get a coach fired.

#5 should be number 1.

I'm all in. Get it done.

Why is Rogers not getting the love from Yinzers

1.) It's debatable how "great he ever was. Other than all the media hype he received as being "the best thrower of the football" what has he actually done? He won one "not that impressive" Super Bowl. That's it, nothing else. He put up some nice stats, but that in itself isn't all that meaningful or Marino is hands down the best ever.

2.) He's old, washed up. Other than Brady and his odd "stronger arm as he aged" "supplement regime" who has gotten better after 40? Other than Brady, all QBs lost it in their mid-30s. He's 41. Not at the age when 99% of us play their best. He's fallen.

3.) He's been a jerk most of his career. You can overlook his pension for "non-mainstream" medicine and the vilification he gets for that, (he's right on most of it).. But you won't find many claiming "he's a nice guy" when commenting on how he treated others. Of course, in his "pre-leaving GB days" his fans overlooked everything but at the end of his stint, even GB fans had had enough of the brash, arrogant and temperamental gray beard. I can handle his over-the-top take on today's phony medicine, but his arrogant, "only I know" tude is a little too much to take. It's "put-off-ish" to say the least.

4.) He gonna take Pgh for every dime he can squeeze. He's not afraid to get all he can get from Rooney. And with this OL, he is gonna earn his $. Meyers is clueless on doing anything but keeping a job from Clown-lin. Rogers will be lucky to survive his stint as a Steeler QB.

Part of the equation was that The defense had gas early cuz the ball possession offense they ran the first 6 weeks with Fields. While they didn’t put up tons of points they did play keep away from the other team’s offense. Fields fit the AS scheme better and was improving.

Was he awesome? Not by any stretch.
But he is still a young QB learning yet another new
Offense to him behind an OL that hasn’t had any gel time yet. The OL wasn’t totally exposed early because of JF’s mobility.

Again he wasn’t great by any stretch, but he was learning and making the most out of a bad situation (crap OL and 1 playmaker in the offense…well two considering his potential)

Not a Fields love fest from me, but he had some redeeming qualities and room to improve upon those…had he been given the time.

But alas it seems Tomlin’s man crush on geriatric QB’s that had pedigree in the early- mid 2010s will win out yet again…as we celebrate A Rodg eve in Steelerland

Man this sure isn’t what we all expected. Figured they would have locked up Justin within the last week and been ready to make some splashes in FA.
Other than bringing in DK Metcalf on trade and sign they’ve done nothing. Well almost nothing! They signed Malik Harrison ILB from the Ravens.
Very uninspiring FA so far.

It's like an offseason football soap opera. After they get some poor soul to sign up for QB, they'll still have a defense that can't even stop the run.
A flaw by design. Clown-lin and his 2 downlinemen. Just brilliant.

I'm guessing they think they aren't very far away from contending for a SB. Apparently they don't watch their own tape. I don't know if it is ownership, the FO, the coach or all three, but they are sure making a mess. I mean, Aaron Rodgers and Russell Wilson are your two best options, and there's a scenario where they could end up with neither. Then what?

The then what???

Rudy!!!

And a draft pick
