I honestly have no answers for this yet

I mean do you prosecute the AI’s creators? I mean in cases where that was clearly the intent I would say yes… but this is one of those areas where the line blurs really quickly. How do you age confirm a synthetic image? Technology can make some damn impossible dilemmas sometimes…

I don't know jack squat about AI, for me it's a helluva lot of work to make a PowerPoint, but if it's not real people then I don't see that it's a crime and if you try to pass laws about that then you run into the First Amendment.

Right. I am not happy with anything that sexualizes children, but I have no idea how it works with fake images, and a creation of someones creation… its a weird juxtaposition.
You don’t want to defend the stuff at all, but its such a slippery slope in both directions… I mean is a 23 year old girl dressed in a school girl uniform pretending to be a high schooler child porn? Is it ok to clearly depict child porn in art and simply say the character depicted is over 18?

I love having answers or theories on problems and this is one I just don’t know what to think about it… its kind of frustrating…

And if a computer program you programmed starts cranking out something illegal then when are you responsible for it? Because as AI progresses, there is a real possibility that it deviates in ways programmers don’t expect… I Am sure if there is proven intent, then they should be, but what of the almost assured situations that will come up where that is not true

Or the Wuhan Lab.

When I read Jurassic Park for the first time in 91, it really struck a chord with me. The whole Science doesn’t always need to do something just because they can because they rarely have the understanding or control they arrogantly think they do was a life defining theme of tge book…

Not long after the movie came out, it was announced that scientists were working on the same genetic replication that was found in the book… now fortunately it was absolutely impossible ( at least at this time) …. But the absolute hubris and stupidity to literally take a fictional example of exactly why science shouldn’t screw around with things that they barely understand just to see if they can… and actually try to do that same thing.. is beyond contemptible.

"Open the little girl's panties, HAL."

It's a brave new world. I remember when they brought sex robots here. Then the county outlawed them. They are ok in Canada and Japan.

I swear I didn't even know such a thing existed.

There was a case in SCOTUS about fictional accounts of child rape if memory serves. I believe the ruling was it was protected under the 1st amendment since there was no harm done to any real person.

It's revolting. I would definitely keep tabs on them. They're bound to get the real thing.

Our society has a sickness that's growing and the open door to grooming kids is the trans vehicle.

How about, regardless of how you got there, if you get convicted of ******* a kid, the sentence is castration?

So that when a freak's mind goes to this "artful" type of thing , the reality of FAFO is palpable.

Pretty simple. If you enjoy looking at pornographic images of children, real or fake, you get the bullet.

That's the thing, as distasteful as some things are, do we really want to go down the slippery slope of having Thought Police?
If Republicans are in charge they could make thinking about abortion a crime and if Democrats are in charge they will of course make teaching capitalism and free market economics a crime.

No,but I would keep tabs on them. It's certainly a red flag and you should be vigilant since you have to be a sick **** to view that stuff.

I get that, but again where do you draw the line? 4th Amendment violation IMO. The govt will also keep tabs on who's looking at right-wing stuff and target them with the IRS, if they're not already. As it is, apparently the government didn't count on mandating EV's and better gas mileage in ICE's would result in less gas tax revenue to fund highways so now they want to tax people by the mile. Meaning they would need a device in every car that reports how much you drive to the government. Again, illegal search IMO.

Right… its a slippery slope… things are rarely black and white as idealists would hope.

When I was younger I championed the idea that anything related to this stuff just be launched out of a catapult … now Im still onboard for that for actual child rapists, but the surrounding stuff is way to much of a grey area to live in absolutes now.

Ill give you an example… its 100% illegal to possess child pornography… that seems reasonable in 99.99% of the cases, but even that can have grey areas… years ago my Brother and his wife bought their teenage daughter a cell phone. She, of course, sent nudes to her teenage boyfriend, who did what dumbasses do and shared them with his friends… the school caught wind and fortunately confiscated the kids cell phones.

The parents of all the children were brought in and explicitly threatened with child porn charges if all the phones were not immediately wiped clean. In the time between the school making a formal decision whether to file something or not, some of the parents lawyered up and were surprised to find out that the law actually allows them to face prison time and there are already several cases where the legal owners of high schoolers phones did get convicted.

Laws should punish criminal behavior, not make criminals out of innocent people…

Like i said, if you made a program with the intent to make child porn, that is one thing… If it just goes off on a tangent-on its own , that is a different kettle of fish…
