All around suck fest

I still think Ben can play, but his days of making something out of nothing, at least on a consistent basis, definitely seem to be over.
Extending plays relies on WR that can get separation and find holes in the zone. None of our WR can get separation. To save their lives.

This was supposed to be Ben's last stand, but he is not even getting a chance. Very poor blocking drops, wrong routes, guys not getting open etc etc. Ben certainly shares some blame, but not beefing up the oline is going to be a season killer. It's up to the coaches to find ways to get guys open.

If a losing pathetic season is what it takes to get rid of Tomlin I’m ok with that

where the hell is the new and improved offense?
A new and improved offense was wishful thinking. What did they do to improvement? There wasn't much effort to improve the OL unless you count hiring an unproven assistant OL coach and then drafting some mid rounders was going to do the job. Harris wasn't going to fix the running game without a good offensive line in front of him. Canada's offense doesn't work with a QB like Ben. Ben looks old and is so limited with what he can do. These issues are magnified with a poor run and pass blocking line ahead in front of him. Defensively, they are without half of their starters. No margin of error with what is probably the worst offense in the NFL.

What sad times are these....I wonder when the next Bubby Brister era is going to come along?

Mike Tomlin had this to say about the 4th and 10 dump off to Najeh Harris at the Bungles 11 yard line with 3:09 left in the game:

"We had fired all our bullets at that juncture."

You had "FIRED ALL YOUR BULLETS"? You idiot, the dump off to Harris was run more times than a standard 9mm magazine holds rounds. Jesus Christ, you moron, you had "fired all your bullets"? ******* dump offs for 3 yards and running into a pile of bodies for 2 yards are your "bullets"?!? Those plays would not qualify as plastic-tipped darts.

Bullets. Yeah, sure, you bet, Mikey.

Sadly this true…we are stuck with him

Rewatch that 2nd pick he threw into the open arms of the LB, or his overthrow to #13 streaking down the left sideline.

It’s over for him as an NFL QB. Really sucks to go out like this, after such a stellar, hall of fame career.

August, 2021: "Never had a losing season. Who would you replace him with??"

August, 2022: "Only had one losing season. Who would you replace him with??"

he should have walked away when Pounce did, like they said they would together. At some point he's going to be benched or get hurt. What will come first? He's taking a lot of shots out there and there is no confidence from the offense. The play calling is predictable, he has little time and they don't seem to be on the same page. It's hard to watch. Injuries are a large part of this, but there are enough starters ******** the bed, too.

You bench him. It’s going to be damned do/don’t situation. I do not envy Tomlin.

I hold my breathe now every time he gets hit. It’s evident he’s hurting when he gets up. The guy seriously with the money he made; enjoy his family.

I think it is time to “Embrace the Suck” and hope they pick the right quarterback next year because it looks like our record will be conducive to allowing us to choose one in the top ten.

Deep down, we know CMT will ride with Ben as long as he can. His options kind of suck, if he does sit him. Canada has not impressed me in the least. Something has to improve there.

It all depends on what they want to get out of the rest of this season. If Ben and this offense continue at their current pace, Rudolph is going to give the team the best chance to win. However, do they really want to finish 8-9 when they may only win 5-6 games with the offense playing as it is right now?

I frequent some SEC forums cause I’m a uga alum and the LSU boards do laugh at us for Canada. I read something along the lines you get a lot of “oooh’s and ahhh’s pre snap, then the play turns out to be a total fail”

Ben is our best option. But if it were me. I’d plug in the younger guy. It’s just a looking out for Ben’s health type of thing. I’d get the backlash from the fans. But at some point you cannot get anymore low in a business decision.

It’s a ****** way to honor him. But you have to think about his life after football at this point.

They don’t have much of a choice imo. Once the weather gets colder the more it’s going to work against Ben.

Cool shades is in a tough dilemma

As soon as Mason Rudolph takes his first snap without Ben on the payroll

I don’t think the next QB will be next year. Just embrace the suck for a year or three and then we can see where the Steelers are headed.

Just depends what Art II wants I suppose

I don't think Rudolph is a guy who is going to get you a playoff win, but he'll put points on the board and be more entertaining in terms of winning games. However, I think at this point you play it out with Ben. Let him pad his stats and if the losses pile up, so be it. It sets the Steelers up better for the future. Maybe they even catch lightning in a bottle and start to win some.

All I know if it was up to me. I’d sit Ben. I’d own up, deal with backlash from the fans. Just my conscious decision, I’m not risking an aging man’s long term health over a game of football.
