Allen Robinson trade in the works from LAR…..per Bleacher Report.

Not sure why anyone would dislike this trade. Absolutely zero risk. I believe if we find something better in the draft or preseason we can drop him for little to no cap hit this year. Means all we would lose is having an earlier 7th round pick.

Any word if he passed his physical? I havnt seen anything about him officially signing yet

New Sheriff in town.
Well it sort of makes sense that if you are going to build out for the duration of the Pickett rookie deal, you make one bulk decent into UFA… this way this crop of contracts expire around when you are kicking his extension into play and you should be able to get some comp picks to fill out the roster… and if he busts, you have extras draft capital to go get another qb

I want volume of high quality players not Carter.
As a huge GA fan I’d have to agree with you, he’s heading in the wrong direction unfortunately and we’ve got several holes to patch

He may become a game wrecker, but the risk reward doesn’t seem to add up

Makes total sense, but in the past, math has been a weakness for this regime.

OH,… wait……….. we know non-winning from winning seasons.

AS petty as it is, I am taking a shot at the coaching regimes of the past, today is a new season.

A poster compared this signing to the Jericho cotchery one, if Robinson is healthy this will be true and maybe even better.

I really like this signing for the development of Pickett, way more than a newly drafted WR, we already have one of those in CA3 and then Pickens with just a season under his belt. A trusty (not rusty) vet was needed

I don't know the player or his character enough. I'm just saying I'd prefer to have two really good players over one great.

Excellent post Litos, thanks for all your great ones along the way.

I would have used the word “crusty” instead of rusty, but that’s just my warped sense.

Cotchery, Mathis, etc. He's a vet player who if healthy should do ok but I don't see him playing over Sawfty and Pickens. We don't know what we have with Austin yet because he was hurt.

They've done a lot of these short term deals this offseason to patch areas of need and that is good in that it also disguises what they are going to select in the draft to a degree.

Robinson is a slightly older (29 vs 27) version of JuJu.

Same size. Same speed. Same contest for the ball. Same blocker. Just a lot cheaper.

Robinson has been productive on a bunch of really bad teams with really bad quarterbacks. If he can stay healthy, this is a good addition. If ...

As you can see it is looking even more attractive. I also read that there is also two voidable years so if the Steelers wish it can be tweaked to lower next year's hit even lower. I am starting to see the advantages of Omar as the GM.

To a degree, I agree, BUT It also depends on what position we are talking about.

LT is very near QB as to need and I’d take a great LT over two other pretty good players.

The day this trade happened, Pat McAfee blew it up. He talked about how we took them (LAR) to the cleaners on this. Pat even put out a lot of numbers, not exactly these mind you, but very similar.

He talked about the remaining “rams” years and what the STEELERS inherited, literally nothing. He can be cut with no consequences.

With the numbers you are showing it tells me 1). This is a very inviting GREAT deal, and, 2) McAfee seems to know his ****, I like that that aspect. It seems to be a little different than most talking heads.

My dream draft is to grab Broderick Jones at 17 and then Darnell Washington at 32

Slap Jones at 1 tackle and put Big O outside of the other tackle (whoever wins out between Chuks and Moore)

Line em up and start running over some people with this help outside to compliment the recent free agent additions to the OL inside

Hit a LB or CB with 49 (and go grab #7 next year after Canada and Bubbles depart😎)

Reality hit me at the end of the post

Cotchery had 16 catches in his first year with the Steelers. Mathis had 23 in his only season. I believe Robinson will do considerably better. And Mathis was 35 years old when he played in Pittsburgh, so he's not even a pertinent example for comparison.

One can live the dream !!!!

I’ve3 said it for awhile now, O’Canada will be the biggest liability on the offense.
