Anybody fired yet?

So, we are making player moves but the root causes (coaching) are staying. Grow a pair, Rooney!

no firings yet, but the Steeles are -16 point underdogs going into the bye this week.

"Bye week starts with an impressive opening drive, featuring 'I Love Lucy' re-runs and a classic episode of 'Gilligan's Island,' where Gilligan drills a hole in the boat and then drills Mary Anne. Kenny and the O need to answer here ... PICKED OFF BY SCOOBY-DOO!"

lol,
Put the pipe down, counselor.

Canaduh is out pointing fingers at specific players now. The dude really has to go. My guess is he will be the OC next year as well.
Who'd he call out? (Sorry if I missed it in this thread)

He was blaming players for the O issues and then specifically pointed out Pickett and how he needs to watch the errors on film yet KP studies and watches as much film as anyone. He's always been known as a junkie in that respect.

Watch this happen. Like the Jets game when we had the perfect opportunity to get KP prepared for the game with us going from a Thursday night game to a Sunday game. We now are going into a bye week and would be the perfect time to make an OC or at least play caller change. Not Tomlin. Half way through the Saints game I see him pulling Canada's play calling duties then throwing unprepared Flores in to try to scramble and pick up the pieces. lol

no moves on the coaching staff. bad message
Shades explains to Deuce and Khan that Canaduh is staying:

For a while I agreed with this. But I have been thinking...maybe it is the wrong message to fire him in the middle of the season. These are immature players for the most part. If they realize their whining and complaining gets the results they want, it may only get worse. I have always thought the key to the success of the Steelers over the years is the players know who is boss, and going to the owner or whatever isn't gonna get them anywhere. That is important with these 14 year olds in mind that occupy the Steeler locker room.

And anyway, I think it is pointless for them to go on some kind of a run here and maybe sneak into the playoffs or something, as crazy as it may seem. They aren't going anywhere...it would be kinda ceremonial, like last year with the Chiefs. That doesn't help them down the line. I think the chances of going on a run is nil with the idiot Canada in charge.

I've got to respectfully disagree with you

1. They have no problem holding someine like Witherspoon accountable amd bencing him for getting torched vs. the Eagles, them going out and getting a CB at the deadline and rightfully so, but let Canada off the hook for having one of the worst offenses in the league for 2 years going??? Bad message, hypocritical, breeds rebellion...

2. Canada is well on his way to ruining the confidence of two consecutive 1st rd picks in Harris and Pickett, I think he does permanent damage to their futures if he stays on thru the end of the season

Those are good points. I am concerned mostly about #2 with him staying. Hopefully both players are strong enough mentally to overcome this guy. Especially Pickett. I'm not so sure Harris is really that good. Regardless of how bad the OC is, any RB should have the ability to turn it up and get two yards on a damn swing pass.

I would take that and be happy. Anything to take that guys responsibilities away. Unfortunately they will probably stay with him for the rest of this miserable season.

What you can be absolutely certain of is that Mike Tomlin will do ANYTHING that gives him a shot at .500

Once that really starts to look jeopardized you can bet firings & demotions and duty relief will all start happening.

Turning over stones, if you will.

Historically he is slow to the adjust. So I think even with his .500 desire, this season his lack of good decision making bites him in the arse.

So in his mind let’s try and not have a losing season, finish somewhere like 9-8 and draft in the middle once again. That’s the standard!
That would take winning seven of the next nine games and with this team, that dog don’t hunt.
The best thing that could happen to this team is to win two more games, see noticeable improvement with Kenny, get a top seven or eight pick, and keep ******* Tomlin away from the draft.
I’m not condoning losing but you have to go through a period of this to position yourself for some quality draft picks.
I’m ok going 4-13 getting a top seven or eight pick, hoping the Bears keep losing which would give us like three picks in the top 50.
Now you have to hit home runs on those picks and not let Tomlin **** them up
ala Edmunds, Bush, Najee, Burns, Uncle Jarvis, Senquez Golden, Kendrick Greene, Claypuff.
I put Najee in this group since he’s starting to remind me more and more of another Alabama RB in Trent Richardson.
Let Andy and Omar and the scouts run the draft.

Tomlin does not yet realize that Ben got him 3 + wins per year because he was Big Ben. That is misplaced hubris.

When Tomlin humbles himself to come to the understanding that most of the Steeler's success in Tomlin's coaching tenure was due to his franchise QB, only then will he be able to understand that his delay in making adjustments was evident in the Tebow PO game, the last 3 PO blowouts, the ****** O for almost half a decade, the poor personnel decisions around pedigreed picks like Green, Bush and maybe now Harris, the coordinators' continued underperformance, etc.

If the Deuce gets to this headspace before Tomlin, then he will be obliged to force action, including with Tomlin. We should be very aware of how the Deuce speaks about the team, Tomlin and coordinators for the rest of the season, because it will tell us what he is really thinking.....if he says little, that would be disappointing.

Except that each of the last three years Deuce has left explicit orders to improve the running game, and that hasn’t happened.

Yes, but Deuce ain't that bright, and all the Ben **** probably confused him. Since that is stripped away, the rest of the minority owners have to be chirping, at the very least.

It is kinda obvious now that the Steelers' success early in Tomlin's career was due to 3 factors: Cowher's players, LeBeau and Ben
As the Cowher players flipped, the reasonable success was due to 2 factors: LeBeau and Ben
Mediocrity, for at least 8 seasons now, started as LeBeau was minimized, then gone, leaving only one success factor: Ben
Now that Ben is also gone, the success is too.

Tomlin has just put nice words around a steady decline, as many here have said for years.
Perhaps the Minkah trade, which flipped the season when Ben got hurt, was the worst thing for the Steeler franchise because it has allowed the festering of mediocrity at every level, starting with ownership.

You’d think about maybe spending a few premium picks every decade or so on the OL if ya wanted a run game

Deuce don’t know 💩

Cowher made a gaff or two on OL drafting but he did invest in the trench warfare guys.

Coach Tomlin thinks any guy can be trench warfare guy and weapons count more than anything.

Drive that car home and this is where we are at, weapons that can't fire and trench warfare losing their battles.

Salute the nation
