It's bad enough the Steelers didn't make the playoffs. It's even worse that the Pats are back in the Superbowl...

And to top it off. I'm not drinking... Saving my drinks for the weekends now. Been hitting the bottle a little too much last year.

Also started the year on a 7 day water fast, so if anyone wants to talk that, I'm all game.

And I got a new car!

How have you all been! And share what you're drinking so I can enjoy vicariously.

Not who you want to get but what free agents do you see the Steelers possibly targeting?

Cope, I keep hearing how the Rams don't have a chance in the SB. I hope with the constant slurping of the Pats and the dogging the Rams are going to get because of the damn officials, they go in there pissed off and ready to beat the **** out of Marcia.

What say you?

What kind of car?

15' Tesla Model S 70D

Here's a shot of the Color: https://www.greencarreports.com/new...0d-first-drive-of-new-electric-car-base-model

Fastest thing I've ever driven. It's like living in the future now. 0-60 under 4sec. and you can set the options yourself. I use the retro braking (powers the car slowing back to the battery) and it feels like gear braking when you downshift going into a turn in a manual. Also ticked the sports steering option. You can go back and forth, and my wife has the Chill acceleration set as well as the low retro braking.

Rams have a good shot, and one thing I like about McVay (that I also like about Tomlin), is that he'll take chances to win games. He's not conservative like Reid. So that is a wildcard, and it's why the Eagles beat the Pats last year. They took chances, got TDs and won the game.

They have Darnold and Suh. It will be the biggest test for that O-line, but for some reason, the Pats Oline look like all pros this time of year. Brady has zero sacks and just went up against 2 great pass rushes with the Chargers and KC. The only time he was touched, the refs threw a flag...

The rams DBs have to play big this game. Good news is none of the PAts receivers are burners, so they should do well in this game. Keep Gronk out of it, and it will hurt the Pats.

Rams also match up better in stopping the run, and defending the RB out of the backfield. You take away this option and Brady will be on the ground. We'll see how it goes, but I am of course a Rams fan this week!

That's a tough one Slash. The Steelers have the cash to get whoever they want. I really want Fitzgerald. He's a leader, great character, perfect receiver, and he's a big target for Ben. If we got AB, he is the only person who would not only help the locker room, but also keep this offense humming.

Defense has to be it. OLBs, ILBs, and CBs will be targets. TE depth if we lose both Xman and the outaw. Perhaps a vet RB?

Kareem Hunt would be ideal also, but he's going to carry a circus. Not that we already don't have 3 rings set up in Pittsburgh, but our front office will pretend we're above that, while the animals continue to do their tricks in the locker room...

Do you think the league has a plan to address the current wave of negativity towards the league? If so, what is that plan? If not, why not?

Their pockets are lined. They aren't too worried about anything. Money will flow. And they know fans will watch just like fans watch the WWE.

The league will do what it always does. Roger will take the heat. He will own it, and make a statement without saying anything. Like' 'We pride ourselves at getting the best possible people we can to officiate this great game. We will do whatever we can to get better and move forward. Now go out and enjoy the Patriot Bowl....errrr Superbowl....'

And the owners will continue to make money. Wash, rinse, repeat...

Honestly there isn't much of a drop off if you go to Fitz/Hunt from AB/Bell. But you're kicking the can down the road and will need another receiver. JuJu can be an X. He's been the Y/Z so far, but he has the size and route running to excel at the X. Fitz is an X, and one of the best ever.

Are you once bitten twice shy?

I am. The problem is, you can get bitten by more than one animal in many different ways. I can't count my bite marks anymore, but I am smart with my money, and my time.

Remember when Vince McMahn was trying to make the XFL - Entertainment Sports. Looks like the NFL stole that idea for themselves...

John Brown is also a good option for a WR that can run the X.

Mosley is my #1 D pick if we can get him. Still has warts, but he's a playmaker, and he plays hard!

OLBs don't excite me at all

DBs I like Desir. He's great against the run and knows how to play the edge in a cover 2, so....

Dear depressed cope,. Don't be. You may or may not have kids, idk. But if you do ,. Just remember, that they. nd your Mrs. Count on you and need you to be your best. So pick up, dust off and fight the good fight. On to my question. Do you see Houston's Oliver fitting into the Steelers 3-4. / Tampa 2 ****** defense? If so, at what position?

Cope-- where is AB goin to be playing next year and what is the minimum you would take for him

I'm only sports depressed, not life depressed, but thanks for checking. Daughter and wife are both sleeping peacefully!

Funny enough, Coolie and I were discussing this in another thread. I think the Senior Bowl thread.

Personally, the kid is a specimen. Size to speed ratio like I've never seen. I know he was playing interior line at Houston. Coolie thinks he would have played end in a larger school, and I agree. He has great technique, leverage, hands and speed. Probably not a DL in the NFL, more like a DE.

In our offense, I could see him dropping some weight and playing OLB. With his moves/ speed and hand tech, he could give tackles fits rushing the passer from an upright position. If he is truly undersized, this may be his landing spot, and I can see him doing really well there.

Could Oliver drop to an area where the Steelers wouldn't have to sell the farm to get him? I don't really follow college so any insight is appreciated.

I've gone on record a few times in different threads. AB is a special player, the best in his position, and locked into another 3 years of his contract, in his prime. He doesn't move off of this offer outside a Hershel Walker type trade. Multiple picks and or players. Minimum he's 2-3 first rounders. Not all the same year mind you, but he merits that discussion. Come off of that and you're talking 5-8 picks in later rounds. I don't move him for anything less.

Now the Steelers don't have to move him, can force him to sit, and if he sits out, he gets ******. It isn't like Bell, who wasn't under contract. The Steelers not only wouldn't pay AB, but they'd fine the **** out of him, to make it not worth sitting out. It would start in the preseason, and roll over to the regular season if it came to that. So he's stuck being a Steeler if he wants a HOF career, and the steelers still hold all of the cards.

That being said, there are a few players in the league, at the top of their positions, that I'd be willing to package a trade for. Peterson in AZ, Ramsey in JAX, but the Steelers still should be owed some picks if that happens. Just not as high.

It is possible, you never know the way the combine/Senior bowl/ draft is going to shake out. It also comes down to need in most drafts. The Steelers are drafting in the middle of the pack, so moving up to 8-12 isn't as bad as picking from the last 10 spots like we usually do. The Steelers usually don't like to jump far. They were willing last year to get an ILB, and did for Polamalu, but going up 5-8 spots isn't out of the question for this front office. If the right guy is there, they will make a move.
