Ben's Done

I agree, but not for the reasons many think.

Physically, he can still do it, as the velocity is still there, but there's not enough attention to detail and precision to compensate for what he has lost in terms of mobility and strength in the pocket.

A common criticism throughout his career from former teammates, especially WRs, has been that he's never been a "first to the facility, last to leave" kind of QB, and it's caught up to him.

He is completely lost in this offense too.

He's definitely not confident in the blocking or the offense. Practicing more than once or twice a week would help with the latter.

It's a big reason so many of these throws are "just" off, IMO.

He was done last season. Maybe for spots in games here and there he can get it done, but not over the course of 4 quarters and definitely not over an entire season. His arm is good enough, his lower body just doesn't have it anymore. It's why I thought he should retire after last season. At this point, the Steelers should keep playing him because that will give them their best chance at a high draft pick.

Ben's arm has never been the same after the elbow rebuild. Sure, he has racked up a bunch of yards in this short passing game but his deeper throws are weak, at best.

Tell me you watched that game and felt those two players were at the same level.
yes I watched the game and I saw two players with totally different offenses, Ben has never been fleet footed like Rodgers, but Rodgers would have been killed behind this oline. did you pay any attention to the amount of time each one had to throw the ball?

yes Ben missed some passes but he has to have the ball out of his hands before he takes the first step after the snap. Put Brady behind this oline and lets see if we are any better than we are now. I think not.

He isn’t physically done… but if tge offense is that out of sync and he isn’t willing to put in a full week of practice anymore then maybe he is mentally done
He's close to physically done. He can barely move in the pocket and doesn't step into many of his throws (check the short passes over the receiver's head). I agree he seems mentally checked out, his body language on the sidelines shows no fire, at least not like we used to see.

Rodgers wouldn't have been killed today. That was as good as the offensive line has been all season and we couldn't sustain any drives. The plays in opponent's territory spoke volumes about the QB play today. You have both guys trade teams and the Steelers win this one probably by the same score as it was today.

Yeah you cannot really blame the offensive line today. They ran reasonably successfully. Ben's fumble sure. The other sack he had Juju right in front of him. Throw to the side the defender isn't. At worst its incomplete.

I just don’t think he trusts the pocket to step up… again if he is mentally checked put it can be worse than physically shot… cause he will perform enough to stay the starter…

y'all can feel any way you want for me I will keep on my black and gold/big Ben colored glasses and keep hoping they/he brings us to another championship.
Well your glasses are a 24 pack of Beer goggles then. C'mon man. They are not going to win 5 games unless Rudolph goes in and is far better than most here think. At least it's worth the look.

We won't win 4 more games the rest of the season, never mind the playoffs.

I honestly hope Ben doesn't play for the rest of the season. Including the all-important last game of the season where the playoffs are on the line and Mason and Haskins are injured and he's the only QB on the roster.

Put in the punter. Ben's got some hot-tubbin' to do.

you know whats funny with the exception of maybe a couple of years of O'donnell, Ben right now today is still better than any QB we have had since Bradshaw. yet some of you don't seem to remember or maybe your just to young to have suffered through those years. if you think this is bad QB play you must have missed the years of Malone, Brister, Tomczek, ect, ect ,ect.

They are averaging 15 offensive points per game. Ben is immobile, indecisive and inaccurate. It's a 50-50 game. You put Rudolph in to start next week so you can see if there is hope for a starter on the roster. You also have to give your OC a fair shake at someone running his offense with buy in. You fire Canada at the end of the year based on this???
