Big Ben

Good thing we have a defense and the makings of a running game. Our OL has been generating pretty damn good push over the course of the past few weeks. I'd prefer Ben today than O'Donnell on his best day and that yutz got us to a Superbowl with a lot of help from his friends.
Cool, but the Steelers still aren't scoring enough points.

Here we are at 4 and 3. Has Ben been perfect? Nope. After are next 2 games we just might be sitting at 6 and 3. I know. I am getting ahead here but Ben was said to be finished. By numerous fans and the media talking heads. Even against the Browns Ben was not perfect. Give him a resemblance of a running gain and our Offense seems to work. It has the last 2 or 3 games anyways. With an above average D play it looks like we might have a team here. I know. I am drinking the cool aid after a tough win.....no thanks to Tomlin. Had to get that jab in. Anyone thinks any other QB on our roster could have won this game is simply....crazy. Ok. I am done.
I was with you, right up until your TDS kicked in (Tomlin derangement Syndrome). Sorry couldn't resist.

There seems to be an excuse every week the Steelers score 20 or less.
Who cares if we score less than 20 if we win....we know this is not some high octane offense. A win is a win. **** the score......unless you are worrying about your fantasy football team. I'm not.

Meh....sorry. Tomlin has run his course with me. Not enough c
Kool aid for that. 🤪

I’m glad he’s still Cleveland’s daddy. You could tell this W meant a little extra.

We are not a super bowl team. Our defense is super bowl caliber but our offensive line is still bad. They have improved from a dumpster fire to just plane garbage. I’m encouraged that they improve every game but there’s still a long way to go. Roethlisberger isn’t what he was mobility wise but he still has a good arm. Understands the offense. And has some fire left in his belly. If we can make the playoffs and not have a disastrous exit I’ll be happy. It would be great to have him go out on top like Manning, Elway or the Bus but I just don’t see this team winning it all.

I don't think that Oline is plain garbage. Just has some work to still do. I think they will continue to improve as the season progresses.

We're at 4-3 now. Steelers were at 7-5 in 2005 in early December. Who would have thought but a few deranged Steelers fans they would have won the Super Bowl that year....You just never know how things will turn out down the road. Just enjoy the ride as long as it lasts...

Agreed. As I stated....we still have to play the games but we could be eaily 6 and 3 after our next 2 games. Hopefully we show up and win.

Not going to pretend Ben is the future. BUT, better play calling and him getting under center again looked ... positive. Teams have won SBs behind limited QBs before. I am not ready to throw in the towel yet. At a minimum, appreciated Ben's fire today. Slowest QB sneak ever maybe, but dude went with heart on that sneak and the refs stole it. Also, need more under center plays like today.

Well it wasn't a QB sneak....he just ran it in after he saw everyone covered....so yeah.

Yep...it's the games we should win without thinking twice that have me the most worried. They always have dating back to the Noll days...

We didn't throw the bombs today. Maybe covered. But the three yard or less passes were at a minimum. I know we didn't win big, but we ate up the 4-15 yard zone. This is the way. Make it so Canada. Screwy refs (and at time coaches) aside, may have been the best called game of the year on O.

The pass to Gentry on 1st or 2nd and 20 and he picked up 24 was pretty. He was all by himself. No one near him.

Ben showed once more give him a line and when receivers can finally get open big plays down the middle

that running game is the KEY to everything. Keeping the play calls near 50 / 50 helps a whole lot as well. Unpredictable is the new game.

I think that was more middle field as well, loved it and was surprised Gentry was the target but he has come a long ways since being aquired.

**** the Fantasy Football play for stats team. FOOTBALL is win or lose and you just need one more than them to win.

EDIT: There is so much more to football than fantasy football. The younger FF fans will not catch the true fever and lose a part of the game due to that. The game has changed due to FF and not neccessarily for the better. FF has turned it into a me me me league to more of a degree.

Hi. Its 2021. In today's NFL, if you're consistently scoring less than 20 points, your chances of winning will fall.

Thanks for reading.

Statistically speaking if team A scores more than team B, team A wins 100% of the time no matter the year.

Ben has looked good for several games and even before that, he looked bad at points in games but good at other points. The play calling in our first 4 games was atrocious. It seems as if he has a few more options now and the entire team is settling in and getting the signals. That RPO call to pass to Diontae late in the 4th that iced the game was called and thrown to perfection. He put it in stride for Diontae to scoot for 50 yards. They really need to do that spread throughout games. That play with a good pass is tough to defend.

Don't forget, our O-line is getting better. We are able to run the ball and run when we need to for the most part. That will be huge if that keeps improving. Najee can get a yard or 3 yards or more even when there is no hole. Conner couldn't do that. Snell can't do it and Ballage can't do it. I hope they get McFarland a good 10 snaps next week. We need to see what he can bring to the table. And, then, give him another 10 the following week. We need a change of pace back and hopefully he's 100% healthy and ready to roll.

I agree. Naj will hit that rookie wall at some point. If they can share some of the load, that will definitely help.

I’ll add, didn’t we just play the top 4th rated Def overall today? I’ll take what we did.
Yep. We essentially hung 20 on the clowns D.
