Bouchette reports in the "nameless paper" that Blount left the field early, dressed and headed for the team bus. Apparently he was upset he didn't get more carries and he's such been a problem for at least the last month that several players have lobbied Tomlin to release him because he's a cancer that has been dragging Bell down.

If that is correct he should be considered for release or at least fined his game check. I would hope that even if injured he would have been on the sidelines to watch with his team. That might be the reason he was cut loose from belicheat.

Hope thats not true but wouldn't doubt it. The two of them could make for a hell of a one two punch but if the story rings true, don't let the door hit you in the arse

Lets trade him straight up for Marshawn Lynch!

if he is a cancer then best to cut him but who is out there

Just heard them mention it on the post game show.

Some things to consider:
Who is the source?
Why do they want this information public?

A veteran player? A coach?

It's being reported in other places, but no other "major" outlet yet. You HAVE to cut his azz, suspend him or fine him a game check. Otherwise you run the risk of losing the locker room. Now, if other players have been asking for him to be released, you probably should take this opportunity to tell him his services are no longer needed. Can't have the cancer spreading.

The source for him leaving the game is the reporter who saw it. As far as the info about teammates wanting him cut, those are good questions.

@Steelersdepot When Blount stalked out of locker room barely after Team got in there, it was Joey Porter who talked him back inside.

News flash, Blount was brought in as a short yardage back, not the starter....know your role Blount! His actions are ridiculous especially after Bell rips off 200 plus yards, best showing from a Steeler running back since Fast Willie Parker. Tomlin better get in there and handle this one quick!

Cut him. It's not like he's irreplaceable. Will Johnson could probably fill his role.

Here are some practice squad RBs

Josh Harris 5'10 206, on steelers PS already.
James Wilder Jr - 6'3 230, Florida State - big back whose dad played for years in the NFL.
George Atkinson 6'1 218, Notre Dame a good return man as well as a RB
Matthew Tucker 6'0 227 TCU - great short yardage back, tough

He's been Problem everywhere he's been so this should not surprise anyone

fine him talk to him, but keep him

not ready to rely on Archer as a backup

Cut his azz and either move the RB from the practice squad up or sign someone else. When teammates are lobbying for the guy to be released, and wanting to leave him in the away game town, he's a flat out cancer.

It seems like Benjarvis Green Ellis could fill that roll. I'm surprised that no one has called on him this year. I don't think he is injured.

they better move quickly ... Bradshaw is out with a broken ankle, Ball is hurt and other teams have RB injuries to deal with. So, there will be competition for "the best" of what's leftover from free agency or practice squads.

Totally agree I didn't like the signing of him and now we are kinda stuck with him till the end of the season. I how we learn from this 4 teams in 5 season, he is not Steeler material!

He's not going anywhere. We are thin at rb.

Unfortunately true. And looking over what's available ... it's like looking at the Turkey the Sunday after Thanksgiving .... bare bones.

You dont cut a guy for one reaction like this....theres no talent around thats on par with LeGarrett thats available....its apparent the guy wants to contribute and he does run with power. I say use this as an opportunity to challenge his *** so that when his number is called, he goes out to prove his worth. Use his anger against the next opponent. "If youre angry, son, take that anger out vs the opponent and prove to me you belong".

Its a bit to premature to label the guy a cancer....hes not exactly Terrell Owens. But he will get one more chance to shine. He needs to make the best of it.

This wouldn't surprise me. But, with Bell going for over 2 hundred, how can you take him out. Blount knew when he came here, he was the back up.

Doesn't surprise me and the division of labour hasn't been what I thought. But at the same time you gotta earn it. I mean he was brought in at least partially as a goal line guy. This team is horrible on the goal line. I would see what I could do to keep him on the roster for the season. If Bell got hurt they would really need him quick. I might sit him next game and bring up the practice squad kid though. Dri Archer is not any kind of a solution. He is terrible and MUCH too small. This is what Captain Cliche is for.sit the player down and bring him back in. I don't think you can cut him.

He and Joey Porter can "discuss" it further. Asst Coach Porter needs to sit him down and talk about what is important.
