Blount Leaves Field Before Game Is Over

Dri Archer better be chowing down cheeseburgers during the bye week, welcome to the #2 running back slot, pups!

Something has to be going on. For bell to get so many carries blount must have been being punished.. Then with him leaving the game really Something definitely is not right... He ran with power and attitude, but unfortunately it seems like his attitude may get him released.

Someone needs to tell him to shape up or he will shipped out. We certainly can use him, but not at the expense of the TEAM. If he's butthurt because he didn't get a carry, then he needs to grow a set.

I thought Bell got the carries because it was a close game and he is less likely to fumble.

I was wondering why Bell wasn't getting any breathers late in the game. If Blount isn't the answer, they need to find someone quick. Don't want to see Bell carry the ball 33 times a game too often.

I'd expect a competitor to want to compete and be pissed off if he can't. You still have to act right.

I was excited about the signing as I thought he had matured. If these reports are true, the maturity isn't there.

I expected he would get more work through the year than he has. The way Bell was running last night, especially toward the end, you just can't take him out.

I hope Bell has the durability to hold up. He has touched the ball over 250 times already this season, on pace for 360 for the season. Anyone know his college carries/receptions?

I think they let Bell carry the ball so many times because they wanted to make a statement. Despite all the issues Blount has had I would like them o keep him. I feel like he can be coached up and the attitude can be corrected. I like the fire he has and the fact that he wants to be on the field contributing.

The problem with Blount is that he has worked the team into a corner....if he gets more work next game, then they are making his actions have a positive effect for him, and that is detrimental to the team.

If he did "quit" and leave his teammates on the sidelines, then he is not mentally on the "team" anyhow, and should be removed. For all the troubles with this season, and missing 5 starters on D, one back up running back should not dictate the tone for the rest of the season.

Don't let the door hit you on the *** on your way out...

Doesn't surprise me and the division of labour hasn't been what I thought. But at the same time you gotta earn it. I mean he was brought in at least partially as a goal line guy. This team is horrible on the goal line. I would see what I could do to keep him on the roster for the season. If Bell got hurt they would really need him quick. I might sit him next game and bring up the practice squad kid though. Dri Archer is not any kind of a solution. He is terrible and MUCH too small. This is what Captain Cliche is for.sit the player down and bring him back in. I don't think you can cut him.

Blount did not do too well at the goal line last week (Jets game). He lost us a good 7-8 yards on that run. I personally hate the idea of one back pounding the ball all the way down the field, then pulling him out to put someone else in at the goal line. If he got you there, let him finish it.

Agree...there is nowhere good this can go, they can't reward him by giving him more carries, he seems a bit too stupid to accept that and work himself back into good graces...wasted space.

I was wandering why we didn't see him come in a few plays in the 4th quarter give Bell a rest....

I don't like Blount, I did not like the signing, and I would have cut his *** the day that he & LeVeon got stopped for toking. Just to set an example to Bell that that **** is not tolerated & you too could be gone. I don't know what Cowher would have done, but it did not surprise me that Tomlin didn't punish him (or Bell) for the incident. I'm fine with cutting sucker punch blount.

Apparently he would of done nothing like he did when a brawl erupted in 2000 complete with flying chairs...

LB had 5 carries for 0 yards last week. Furthermore, Bell was in the zone. You don't mess with the hot hand.
I completely agree.
HOWEVER, they were messing with the "hot hand" all year.
They were constantly swapping Bell and Blount mid-series.
Sometimes even playing Blount 2-3 consecutive series and leaving Bell on the bench.

So I don't understand WTF is going on with these guys.

So which is it, why was Bell in there on every play that last drive?

Bell was hot?
or
Blount left them short handed?

Which one, cause all year Blount was coming in mid-series to give Bell a rest.

Just found it, here is Bells stat line his Junior season at Mich State. No wonder he was hurt his rookie year, he was still tired from 382 carries.
Carries Yards AVG TDS Rec Yds AVG Td

Agreed. I don't give a **** how thin we are at RB.

I'm not "in the know", so I don't know what the braintrust is thinking. Maybe LB is in the doghouse. Maybe they liked how Bell was running all night. Could be several things. Usually, Blount is used to tire the D in the 4th or so I thought that's what he was brought in for. Hopefully, coach can shed some light in his weekly presser and clear up a lot of questions.
