looks like he has good size and speed. He can also punt. Does he have a real fhance at knocking Landry Jones off the roster?

Nothing really special about the guy.

I think he's just a camp arm.

Landry isn't going anywhere. He looked terrible at the start of camp last year but looked much improved by the end. My guess is he will improve even more this year. Not, that he will be unseating Ben anytime soon but he should end up being a good back up until his rookie contract is up and he moves on to a team that will give him a chance to start.

According to the paper that shall not be named, Landry showed little sign of improvement at all last year. Said repeatedly in chats that if anybody saw him in practice they would not be calling for him getting playing time if the Steelers were eliminated from playoff contention.

Landry Jones was terrible last year and didn't look any better after a full training camp, but after spending a fourth-round pick on him, I fully expect him to survive two, if not three training camps with the Steelers. Another reminder of what a terrible pick he was.

Landry was a real head scratcher.

Too much trying to match Ben's size/athleticism and not enough finding the right overall fit for the team. Our next QB isn't going to be another Ben, so this regime needs to just get over that. Ben is a rare player, and there are/have been few like him in history.

Still don't agree w/ the pick but he's a Steeler. Hopefully we find a better prospect in the upcoming years...

I was really hoping to get Taj Boyd in the later rounds...he has a lot of upside.

We might be picking a qb in next years draft if we have an early pick. It could happen while rebuilding. It would make sense if a really good prospect is available as well. Ben can't last forever and it might be good to get his successor some time in the system. It would also be nice to have his replacement ready in-case Ben falls victim to a career ending injury. As to jJones and the undrafted guys unless they really show something I do not think any of them will be here long. Jones might be a back up at best from what he has shown so far.

I saw Landry Jones at the home opener in warm-ups (shirt and shorts) against Tennessee. I told my brother at the time I thought he was an assistant coach or maybe equipment guy. I found out a few minutes later it was Landry Jones. The dude has skinny arms and legs, had a mini beer gut going on, and looked like he just got done filling the water bottles for the game. I was in shock that he was an NFL player. I will never understand that pick as well.

Landry Jones or Sean Porter or Kenny Stills?
remember, we'd signed Gradkowski already.

stupid waste of a pick
