Bring on the ravens

Blown out?!
You mean the playoff game that was a one score game with 6 minutes left with a third string QB?!!
Yep....they Tomlined it the entire way. We looked like ****.

Hopefully this game on Saturday we come out throwing ....in the past when we have it set up our run pretty.

No way we come out...run run pass. No way. Can we?

Think that would force change?

Not so sure…

DK Sports Daily Shot (Monday) today has a great segment on what it would take for Coach Tomlin to be fired………..

The end isn’t a surprise, but well worth the insight and listen.

It's not surprising to see the Ravens heavily favored, though I tend to think the spread will come in a bit as the week progresses, especially if the weather looks sketchy.

The thing is that the Steelers are just playing so badly right now and the Ravens so well.

This feels a little like the 2020 season where the Steelers collapsed in the final month of the regular season and got destroyed by the Browns in the wildcard.

They probably need to force multiple turnovers to have any shot, and if they allow Henry to run anywhere near as well as he did in the last game, it will be ugly.

We match up well against Baltimore. just got to execute a good gameplan

They really do. It shows in the wins against them. I just don't see a Steelers team that has the fire in them and they certainly won't come out with anything creative.

I just hope they don't sit in zone without being aggressive on the front side.

If they shut down the run they're golden. They'll have to be super aggressive.

I always root for the Steelers, period. But, realistically, I see little to no chance of beating the Ratbirds. On paper and on the field, they are far superior in pretty much every aspect of the game right now. They have the better coach. So, what is a Steelers fan to do? I'll watch and root and yell and scream (especially at the officials who seem to send an empty apology to the Steelers on a weekly basis for their terrible calls during our game) at the TV.

It's any given Sunday (or Saturday) in the NFL. The Steelers will and should be 3 TD dogs in this game on paper. We are a bad team right now in all phases with major changes needed in the offseason (DL, WR, DL, RB, etc. are needed in that order for the draft). Can we actually win this game? Yes, we actually can but Tomlin will have to let his DC and OC do their thing and open this team up to being aggressive. Running the same D they have the last 5 weeks just hasn't worked and their play calling on O has been as bad as Canaduh was. I've seen little change for the better from Smith and would have no problem if the Jets snagged him away. We need a high-powered O to keep up with the rest of the league. Speed at RB and speed at WR.

With that said, WE F'ING RIDE!!!!!!!!!!!! GO STEELERS!!!!!!!!

I am listening yeah the late game Patterson and a hobbled Najee was horrible decision making.

That is the kind of HC bad decisional crunch time crap that holds the team back.

Nobody can convince me he is a smart coach. Not when it matters not when it counts the most.

Personally, I think the Ravens are a better matchup for the Steelers based on their past history against the team and Jackson. The games are usually competitive, which at least gives the team a chance. Jackson has also had some pretty mediocre games against the Steelers defense. The Steelers won the first game and the last game was a one possession game in the 4th until a couple of poor plays allowed the Ravens to extend the lead.

Based on Tomlin's record against teams like the Texans, where you would think the Steelers should win, they come out flat and usually lose. I think the team will come out ready to play against the Ravens and have a decent chance to win the game.

Will they win? It seems like the wheels have completely come off once again late in the year. Tomlin seems to struggle when it comes to fixing this stuff when it goes bad in the locker room and on the field during the season, or making in-game adjustments. That said, I expect the rivalry to have the Steelers ready to play and I expect the score to be close in the 4th. Tomlin needs to remove himself from the offensive side and possibly the defensive side as well if his micromanaging on both sides has helped to contribute to the team's overall performance the past four weeks.
Jackson is not a good cold weather QB, and he never plays well against a Tomlin coached team. So this will be a close game. IMO if the Steelers win the turnover battle, they'll win. The way that I look at the regular season is that it is nothing more than the qualifying round. So the Steelers are in and they can win it all.

I watched the Ravens/Browns game, and I saw a huge vulnerability on the Ravens defense. It's one of their corner backs - Stephens. You absolutely have to throw it to the receiver that he covers 75% of the time. Stephens will either hold the receiver or let him catch the ball since he never looks for the ball.

The game planning and personnel decision making and game adjustments will dictate the outcome.

1. Williams and Warren should get heavy reps yes that means starting.

2. Fields should be in there in any 3 and 1s or 4th and 1s.

3. No 4th and ones should be attempted on the Steelers side of the field.

4. Wilson should be given the directive of 1 2 read then rollout and dump off.

5. TJ should be moved around. Pass rushers need to be rotated in regularly opposite TJ.

6. They should focus in on Andrew’s - a S cheated toward him , pressuring LJ and being run gap sound.

7. They should utilize both TEs in the passing game.

8. Chip their best pass rusher every passing down.

9. Mix up the coverages on D. I would move Kazee deep and Minkah in closer in this matchup.

10 Expect the opposite of all 9. Because they will be right even if it is wrong.

Well….. here lies the problem their solution will be to trot the same crap out there that will handcuff victory.
