Bring on the ravens

The one thing I will say Slash….In my way of thinking I hope Warren and Naj do not get heavy running reps. Ravens have close to the #1 ranked rushing D and close to bottom ranked passing D. They will stack the box. Hopefully Wilson will be accurate, but I’m hoping for play action after play action in the first half. 80% pass plays. I’m certainly not talking about moon ball after moon ball. Or those one yard passes. Those 5-10 yard quick hitters. Use our RB’s in the pass game. Send our WR’s deep for decoy and use the underneath for our TE’s. Including Mount Washington. God forbid maybe a few slants. God forbid maybe using the middle. With hopeful success, this will open up our run game as well.
Williams is a big possession receiver. They could use him nonstop. I just don’t understand why they haven’t thrown him the ball more.

For me the greatest coached game plan ive ever seen for the Steelers was the Indy playoff game. Nobody gave us a chance against the mighty Manning. Every person thought we would run, run, and run again to keep Manning off the field. Ben came with pass after pass.
Cheers.
I remember that game well - but remember who the coach was.

Oh ye of little faith...

Lamar will try to run at every opportunity just like his first game years ago. Spy him with Payton Wilson. Blitz Queen up the middle and bring TJ and Alex off the edges.

If Jackson can go - lock both sides down and NO deep field play for Minkah until Lamar can prove he can beat the pressure. I'd have Minkah roam the middle of the field about 20 yards of the line of scrimmage. Mix up man coverage in the back and we'll be up by 14 points by halftime.

Running on 1st down must be minimized if not removed from the game plan. I'm using Justin Fields and Russell Wilson as much as possible - the game plan must be unique and completely different than last game or any game this season.

That is all. Rest easy.

Berm will call these recommendations in for tomorrow's practice...
Wouldn't you have advised the same for the Rats game 3 weeks ago?

1 thing I do not want to see is tj and Highsmith rushing the edges and almost getting there all game.
Please mix it up a bit and send peeps from different angles
or ........ Blitz

Lamar can kill us rushing too. He rushes for 3 less yards per game than Najee for his career. On a fraction of the carries.

Lamar Jackson rushing line 48.5

Najee Harris rushing line 42.5

LOL

It is the best possible matchup we could’ve asked for.

You’d have to think the guys are hungry and focused since there have been so many coach
Em up moments over the last 4 games.

Hopefully seeing ghosts Lamar shows up and a 2nd quarter TKO of Henry by Watt obliterating him in the backfield.

And maybe try something crazy like first play of game PA moon ball to GP for a quick first drive TD and getting GP involved right off the snap.

The game planning and personnel decision making and game adjustments will dictate the outcome.

1. Williams and Warren should get heavy reps yes that means starting.

100% correct, but still have to have a dose of Najee to spell Warren. Williams not being used is aszinomically a bad decision to date. Let’s get Coach Tomlin to change that up and freaking use him.

2. Fields should be in there in any 3 and 1s or 4th and 1s.

Not limited to just 3rd or 4th and 1s, bring him in on various downs, but careful no to over due it.

3. No 4th and ones should be attempted on the Steelers side of the field.

THIS should be common foortball knowledge but, also situational could compromise this if late in the game and needing possession.

4. Wilson should be given the directive of 1 2 read then rollout and dump off.

If they would change up that ****-ing run run pass mentality and keeping the defense at a little guessing, this would be way less problem.

5. TJ should be moved around. Pass rushers need to be rotated in regularly opposite TJ.

Moving TJ, but also blitzing to that side would make offensive blockers less available to triple TJ. There are many ways to scheme your BEST player for success, just lining him up to take on and absorb multiple blockers play in and play out, isn’t smart or schemeful.

6. They should focus in on Andrew’s - a S cheated toward him , pressuring LJ and being run gap sound.

Definately, the key to Action Jackson is making him have to multiple read and make him beat us with the pass. Taking the soft middle out would be a definate step in the right direction.

7. They should utilize both TEs in the passing game.

Been saying this the entire season, to avail. Freiermuth can catch and get open middle and deep, take the shots.

8. Chip their best pass rusher every passing down.

TJ has provided a blueprint by what opposing offenses do to him. I say opposing as our coaches will need to copy-cat others as currently to date, they have no clue.

9. Mix up the coverages on D. I would move Kazee deep and Minkah in closer in this matchup.

Minka has seemed to break out of his sleep-apnea season. He seems to be more in participation last two games, use him to his strength. He can tackle but also match up well with middle field coverage.

10 Expect the opposite of all 9. Because they will be right even if it is wrong.

That’s just it slash, with this “tiddly-wink” playing coaching staff, you never know how they will come out scheme ing for this game. Over 400 yards passing against the bungles in the 1st game and we come out running / running / running the seconds game.

Berm, I do not want to see Jackson running. Neither do you. I believe he doesn't run often enough and that's a good thing. He also doesn't slide which is dangerous.

Imagine Jackson keepers picking up 6 yards and sliding whenever he wanted

Maybe the Steelers win this round. Give us false hope and get blown out next week???

Or

They go on a roll and kick the **** out of everyone

I guess the Steelers are 10-2 against divisional opponents in the playoffs. Not that it has much relevance to Saturday’s game. But maybe they’re just due, if you believe in the law of averages.
They were 10-0 before Tomlin lost to the Browns in 2020 and Ravens in 2014... and almost lost to the Bengals in 2015 before Burfict and PacMan dipshitted it away

Wouldn't you have advised the same for the Rats game 3 weeks ago?
Respectful, no. The likelihood of beating a team 3 times is very low. Perhaps this was something that was already in Coach Tomlin's mind? Who knows? Most don't give him credit but I can assume he might have had a feeling we'd see them again so why show your entire plan?

As it has been said, had Russ not fumbled early, the momentum was in our favor. That game could have and should have been won but it's history now...

All him when is the last time he did that well running against us???

Pickens is key. Will he get his head out of his arse
No. He will be a ****tard again.
Hard game to call. We normally beat Lamar but usually lose in the playoffs. Steelers' arrow is pointing down and the offense especially is getting worse as the season goes on, not better.

The only silverlining is that the D woke up against the bungles. Let's see if it happens to the O too, it will depend on if they take off the handcuffs, obviously

The pressure is ALL on the Ravens. There is no doubt about that. Nobody expects anything out of the Steelers. If things get tough in this game do the Ravens start to press, Lamar thinking "not again?"

If it makes sense, chances are they won't do it. Then they'll blame the players for their stupid planning.

Per ESPN, Russ is our "reason for hope" in this game and the defense is our "reason for concern".
