Not bad for his first game. He's on record with a sack of a HOF QB in Brady. By the way, where were all the other rookies we drafted? Bud was the only one dressed for the game?

Blew a RB up too. To bad he didn't disengage or he would have had another sack.

For his first game against the SB champs, on a big stage setting. I think he played pretty well, was there mistakes made? Of course, but he's already better than Jarvis IMO.

Jarvis was terrible... Who thinks he played well?

And this organization is currently one of the worst drafting teams in the league... Thank GOD, Dupree fell to us... Hard to **** that up

Dupree played better. I'd start him over Jones.

Coach, you have no clue whatsoever. Jarvis played well last night. Jarvis and Dupree play different positions. You are obsessed with who "starts" even if both the starter and the backup each play 35 snaps. Just stop with this crap.

Jarvis didn't play bad either.

He improved. But Jarvis runs around like a chicken with it's head cut off. Bud is going to be special. Finally a linebacker I'm excited about recently

It's nice to see him make a couple of plays in his debut. I love his potential but let's not start anointing a guy that's played 26 snaps so far in NFL games that count.

You're not excited about Shazier?

Shazier is a missile. There was one play in the first quarter where the RB for NE was about to bounce it outside, and he closed in FAST and limited what would've been a huge gain to maybe 2 yards. Ive never seen that kind of speed ever in a Steeler LB.

Ive about given up hope of Jarvis, but if we have something in Dupree and Shazier, we are gonna be fine in the future

Go watch some clips of Jarvis posted on Steelers Depot's Twitter account --- he showed some good things, I'm telling you.

What troubles me is that NE had three rookies starting on the OL, and one a F/A rookie. Yet McClendon did nothing but get thrown around like a rag doll. we have got to get better play at the NT and for that matter from Heyward and Tuitt. That would go a long way in helping these LB'ers make plays. I realize Brady gets rid of the ball quickly but no one got close.

If Jarvis makes the same sack Dupree makes half the board would be calling it a Gildong sack. He had a free shot he did nothing special. But it's Dupree so we celebrate.

Coach spends all offseason telling us that Dupree (or Durpee) is a mental midget. Then he spends all training camp telling us that Chickillo is better than Dupree. And now after 26 snaps in a real NFL game, the story is that Dupree needs to be starting over Jarvis (which means Dupree needs to switch from LOLB - where he's played exclusively - to ROLB). It's hard to make this **** up.

What's funny is that the Steelers Depot guy - who has probably re-watched the game tape 4 times by now - said McClendon was probably the best player on defense last night. Maybe he will put up some clips to substantiate that claim --- would be interesting to see.

I thought Jarvis Jones did make some nice reads but for me JJ's issue for me is his failure to square up on a ball carrier and tackle or hit the guy. He tries the El Matador technique too often trying to go around their waste instead of knocking the guy in the chops.

Bud Dupree is just plain nasty. The kid plays the game with a mean streak and has bad intentions out there on the field. A true Steeler LBer in the making. I can't wait til he gets up to speed. His quickness and first step is just beautiful.

Did you notice that Deebo played both those positions last night ?

Did you notice WHO you're talking about?

"DEEBO!"

"Hush your mouth"

"I'm talking about DEEBO!"

Dupree had a nice few plays. Like manyn have said, he is going to be better than most we've got. A 37year old and a true rookie, our BEST OLBers we got.

Salute the nation

If we are going to hold LBs to some standard, whatever that is, James Harrison didn't do **** last night. I do not remember his name called for anything. Jarvis played better than James.

I love Harrison. He could play on my tram until he is 57. But his Jarvis Jones hate is over the top. It clouds judgement. Hell, I remember a number of games where the untouchable Joey Porter didn't do a damn thing. so let's just knock it the **** off. I am not saying he is the 2nd coming of LT or something, but they have bigger problems than Jarvis Jones. Until they get a DB who can actually hold coverage for more than .001 second, they ain't getting any pass rush.
