Cam Heyward wants a new deal

I’d say more than anything it’s not so much adjustments but him being reactive to the situation/climate of how the game is unfolding that causes a level of urgency/desperation to break his ultra conservative tendencies.
but that is an adjustment by definition.

I love this comment.

I was the same person, as your brother-in-law. Chasing money and fancy titles.

I don't want to make this a religious thing, but, it is so please - give me a pardon as I provide more context.

While I doing all that 'paper chasing' - I forgot about how I got there and who allowed me to get there. The Man Upstairs. God knocked me smack into the dirt back in April and He's been teaching me exactly what @slashsteel stated. I've applied with nearly 300 companies, and just this week, doors are opening for interviews. Yes, the money is much less, but over the past month and a half, the state of Utah caught up with me and garnished over a grand from my checks every 2 weeks - guy punch us, but we've learned to live with less income and both opportunities are right there where my lessened income has been.

I'm done with the chase. My feet are grounded and I'm ready to live a simpler life!!!
Food, water, and shelter … he always provides. 👏

I don't think its so much about adjustments. I do understand that word. It's basically this is what we expected. This is what they are doing, here is what we have to do in response. And Im not saying that isn't part of some of the short comings. That said I think the real issue is more that you have a coach with a philosophy that wins a lot of football games but has a ceiling you can't really break through in tge modern game. Out physical teams and you can win a lot of football games. Limit exposure to big plays. You can win a lot of football games. Limit your teams turnovers by neglecting more dangerous areas if the field. You can win a lot of football games. But how are you going to beat the truly elite teams who just wanna outscore you? They will forfeit sone of those knowing your offense simply is not good enough to keep up.

If you want to call coming in utterly unprepared, and then having to open up from an ultra conservative philosophy out of desperation “an adjustment “ then indeed Mike is good at adjustments. I hesitate to call that an adjustment.

I wasn’t really arguing the adjustments thing, I think he is mediocre in that department... Not poor and definitely not exceptional.

One thing I know for sure is his undisciplined team will come in flat and unprepared looking like they haven’t even practiced all week a majority of games as evidenced by the abysmal first quarter outputs. Eventually his poor clock killing philosophy will require a move to open up his game a little and the output increases.

This! Hoping someone is hurt much less a Steelers player is just stupid. And honestly Cam has been mostly a great ambassador for the team. Half expecting an injury because the guy probably isnt prepared to play isnt the same as hoping for it.

100% agree, can’t believe for the life of me that someone would actually hope for a player to get hurt.

Not me, I hope for best play and health.

Salute the nation

Unfortunately it is usually to late when he does adjust.
Well as always I think it i a bit overblown. I think he doe better at it more often than people will admit. I hear the American thing about many coaches. I think many fan bases feel the same. He has had some bad games and some good ones.

You would be wrong. Tomlin sucks at in-game adjustments. We have years of game coverage to back it up. Sorry.

I don’t think he is any worse than most coaches and was pretty good last year regular season. My opinion.
Unfortunately he is worse than the upper echelon of coaches.

Yes he really did adjust quite nicely down the stretch to keep his generational game wrecker on D an impact player by moving him around and helping avoid all the double teams and chips…that was a huge key to our success those last 5 games.

Oh wait, that was just the super duper obvious adjustment 99% of SN with eyeballs would’ve made…but not Mike, he’s a true 1%er
