The Chiefs bad is pretty good

Our bad is losing back to back home games vs 10 loss teams bad…the type of unseen before in the NFL bad

Our bad is fooling people with a 10-3 squad that finishes a season 10-7 on a five game losing streak bad

Our bad is finally playing good teams and losing by double digits over and over and over

Our bad is can’t win a playoff game in a decade bad…wait for it only a couple more years to get there and Tomlin is signed up so it’s a virtual lock

In short, our bad is not good by comparison
Unless you are comparing to the Bears, Panthers, Jets and Giants…then our bad is pretty good

Is that how far the standard has fallen?

I live in Cincinnati. It gives you a far different perspective on things. Our bad is making or just missing the playoffs. Until the Chiefs got Mahomes their bad was worse. I am so sick of hearing about the standard falling. I lived through the 80’s and 90’s. Again, I would love to see us win another but I live in city that has never seen their team win one, ever. It makes you a lot more appreciative of what we have “suffered” through recently. I am 53, in 53 years we have had 8 losing seasons. We have been to 8 Super Bowls and won 6. Tomlin may not have won a playoff game in awhile but frankly I really can’t complain much. While I yearn for more I am not about ***** too much about only being competitive. It has been 22 years since I had to sit through a truly losing season. Yeah we have had heartbreak and disappointment but we have had far more than our share of winning. If Super Bowls were easier to win they wouldn’t be as special when you do. I don’t care who our coach is, until we have the right QB again it likely won’t matter. We need a more seasoned line for Wilson and more receivers.

Steelers are not like any other organization. Why continue to bring up that tired a$$ argument? If you want to root for a team that goes through coaches like a hooker through condoms then why not become a fan of the Raiders so you can get your wish every 2 years??

Let me say it again slowly: NO other NFL team keeps a coach 7 years with no playoff wins. Neither should the Steelers

Someone like Andy Reid (who was fired and the Eagles thrived after it as did he) sticks with the Chiefs because he wins in the regular and post season.

If Tomlin were fired my guess is he and the Steelers would both thrive with a fresh start

Yes, I'm saying even if the Steelers picked the future best center of all time it wouldn't have helped Ben push the ball down the field which is why the defenses were able to stifle the offense. I don't if you stopped watching games after the 2017-2918 season but ended elbow wasshot after 2018-2019 season. He could not push the ball down the field on a consistent basis and defenses knew it. Are you arguing that this was not the case??

...and yet besides 2017-2018 you couldn't point to another year in that time where this team had the horses to make a serious run so it's not a massive failure especially considering there's some teams that have only made the playoffs once if at all during that time. Show me where they were favored to win in any other game besides the Jaguars... I'll wait....

Don't know how many teams have only made the playoffs once in that time, but there are only four teams in the AFC with a longer playoff win drought than the Steelers. Those teams are Miami, Las Vegas, New York Jets and Denver Broncos. The other 11 AFC teams all have at least one playoff win since the Steelers last playoff win. That puts Steelers in the bottom 35% of AFC teams last playoff win.

Your statement that the team hasn't had the horses to make a serious run doesn't say a lot for Tomlin's ability to build a contender does it? This year he has his choice of quarterback, his choice of OC, his choice of DC, his choice of assistants and yet it's the same story it has been for the last 7-8 years - as soon as they play a good team in a game that matters they fold like a cheap suit with the offence struggling in the first quarter and the defence unable to make a stop. At this stage I can't see Tomlin building a team that is a real contender. He is a good coach, but to be better than good he needs a winning playoff record and better than 1 and done in 7 out of 11 playoff appearances. To be great or elite he at least needs more Super Bowl appearances, if not another Super Bowl win.

Fair enough. I've always stated I just need him to get one more real franchise QB...and I mean LJ, PM, JA level. If he can't win one on a rookie contract with them then it's time to go. I can't be on board with what yall saying with the level of QB talent he has had the last several years in question. I don't think that's fair either.
