Christmas Day Games Thread

Lamar is a former MVP and they’ve had All Pro talent on defense. Baltimore has probably drafted better than the Steelers for much of the past decade.
Lamar is probably going to be the MVP again this year. Wouldn’t surprise me a bit.

he is earning that contract. He is a much better passer than in years past

Unpopular opinion he has become a complete pro QB and it's scary that he's 27 next year and will have 2 MVP with a chance at his first ring. Seems likeable enough. Can't say I'm not envious

Whatever he is they are winning with him and winning often.

For how much I don't care for Harbaugh he has them playing hard. Times past I would say they won't sniff a SB with Jackson. But now I am not so sure.

Even with a bye it's not an easy run. Bills phins chiefs clowns are all more than capable. Jags look tired and may not even win their division. The worrisome part is he is standing back there surveying the field and almost never runs - delivering strikes where he has a man open and he doesn't have a #1 wr. Or runs for a first. And he has the best D in the league which is a great help. You're right about harbaugh

Every QB has nightmare games. To say Purdy was exposed is a big stretch. In a couple of Purdy's "bad" games i believe they were down offensive skill guys. Purdy knows how to work within the system and can more than often physically make the throws.

Ok ..
Exposed might of been slightly exaggerated.

My point is Purdy in the same situation as Pickett, would have no better and very likely worse overall stats and win loss percentage..

I’m on the same opinion as Cam Newton of Purdy being a game manager, and he is not taking San Fran to SB58.

Okay, but Purdy in his situation was putting up MVP-like numbers. Pickett can barely throw a TD pass.

Not sure how any of us could predict what Purdy would do in Kenny's place or situation..... Yes our OFFensive game plan sucks .... but we do have people on the roster that can make plays ...... I have little faith that the accuracy of any of our current QBs puts a ball out in front of a receiver or RB allowing them to get YAC on almost any given play. We saw Rudy makes some throws last week ....but few have confidence that it could be a regular occurrence. I have watched Purdy in quite a few games over the last year and I see someone that can place a ball with accuracy in their playmaker's hands routinely. He does not have the arm of a Josh Allen or the legs of Lamar Jackson. He does however have a knowledgeable Coach, CMC, Deebo, Kittle and a great DEF. That is what situation he got drafted into and he made the most of his opportunity. He got injured, rehabbed and currently has over 4000 yards passing a 9.7/attempt ..... 29 TDs and a passer rating over 112 ............ label him whatever you want...... I doubt the kid cares ... he just wants to win ..... and when he doesn't he puts it on himself to have to be better... San Fran is a balanced team and has just as good a chance to represent the NFC as Dallas or Philly.......... I would not want to face them in a Superbowl .....

Just so hard to tell with a swap what two QBs would or wouldn't do. They have playmakers at every position. Steady playmakers with a competent play caller.

Steelers have a HC that offense isn't his forte.

Not to take away from what Purdy has done for them. As I have to factor in on players being coached up too.

Obviously Purdy is being more productive but without seeing a swap I think it is next to impossible to figure out especially long term outcomes.

What we do know is Kenny needs to be more productive on the field. Hopefully that comes sooner than later. I have absolutely no idea if it will happen. Not time to close the book on him though just yet. IMO

As far as the Steelers go its hard to get YAC when 90% of your plays are hooks or out routes. Slants have worked for us we just do not use them very much. We just do not have proper route concepts to use our WRs or QBs properly.

Since we are speaking in hypotheticals, If they were both somehow free agents this offseason who would have more market value??

What a ridiculous statement
That is like saying any QB could have done what Brady did in NE.
