College Football Playoff Thread

Congrats to all the Penn St fans on here! They played their way into the "final four"... I think they probably wouldn't have been included if it was still just 4 team playoff, due to politics. Here's to (my) hoping for an Ohio St - Penn St championship game!

I’m thinking the National Champion will be determined today when OSU plays Oregon.

Still too much needs to happen. As you all know, Ohio St lost to Michigan and barely beat Nebraska. Oregon nearly lost to Ohio St and Boise early at home, and at Wisconsin late. Anything can happen at this point.
 
All and all, a very good game for Penn State. They don't play well against top teams. They now scored a bunch on Oregon (very good D) even though they lost and now beat the first two teams in the playoffs. To me, that is a huge milestone for Franklin coached teams. I think Georgia has some key injuries and will struggle against Notre Dame. Georgia definitely is as unstoppable as the past few years. Penn State will have a chance against either team especially if they can run the ball and throw some over the top as they did with Boise State.
 
Longhorns look like they are going to destroy the Sun Devils. The playoff committee needs to fix these bye teams. No way Boise St & Arizona St deserved those positions.

Its 14-3 one texas TD was a punt return so the AZ defense isnt doing too bad. Its still early so it could get ugly though. Penn State shut down BSUs rushing attack and BSUs QB did not play well. I think the game was closer than the score, but im not sure what Boise did to earn a bye.

The game last night was as close as it was because Penn State’s coaching staff was trying to be cute rather than just doing what was working. If Penn State plays run heavy with complimentary passing they would have put 45 on Boise State, maybe more.
 
How did Boise State get ranked #3? Or was that just the playoff seeding?

Seems like the main issue w/ the smaller teams is the trench game. BSU's RB was averaging almost total 200 yrds / game and didnt have a shot against PSU. The talent gap on the lines is just too much for the "lesser" schools to overcome

When did they start kicking the ball after a safety instead of punting it?
 
Another slow start for the team with the bye. May have to put a few bucks on OSU 1st quarter line.
 
The center held the nose tackle like crazy on the last Texas TD. No call.
 
That should do it for Texas the way ASU is struggling to score. Game could’ve been closer than it is.

Looking at the stats, AZ played well. You can't spot a team 14 points and hope to do well. Unless you're Tomlin?

Statistically this score should be flipped. ASU is hanging in there down one score.

Hold everything. ASU has played well enough to justify the 12 team playoff.
