College Football Playoff Thread

Welp another Penn State let down in the books. They can't beat Ohio State anyway,not with that qb.

I don't see any possible way Texas wins tomorrow,maybe if the Ohio State players all get food poisoning before the game.

Well since Pribula is gone I think they better take their chances with Allar.

The times Pribula passed the ball the last couple years I felt he could be as good as Allar if given the chance.
 
Now that I think about it if I'm a 4 star or 5 star WR I don't think I would go to PSU if Allar is throwing me the ball. Maybe the better WR recruits knew what it was and chose where they could eat better.

The way he overthrows the ball he would get it to the WRs if they had some speed and got separation.

None of them are a deep threat down the field.

He's definitely not a touch passer...that should have been a walk in touchdown in the first half when they settled for the three. The level of competition always catches up to guys like that and exposes them. When you need them to put the team on their back they fold.

I am so happy for Marcus Freeman and the Irish. I almost couldn't watch the field goal at the end. They have won the Sugar Bowl and the Orange Bowl and beat two outstanding teams. Props to #11 Carter, who was a beast tonight, and to # 10 Singleton, who I would like very much to see in Black and Gold. Let's Go Irish!!!!!!!
 
Well, Penn State had a chance if Texas won. Now tomorrow is the championship game. My guess is Ohio State wins then beats Notre Dame 64-6

They did. That team is different since the CFP started. They go for the jugular from the first play. I don’t think it will be 64-6 or whatever, but I don’t think Texas or ND will have much for OSU, especially if OSU continues to play as they have so far.

I’d be stunned if Ohio State doesn’t win it all. And I say that even if Penn State had won tonight.

Of course any given day, but there isn’t a better team in the CFP than Ohio State.

That’s them. Penn State fans crucify Franklin when he’s winning. I no longer have a dog in the fight. Just my opinion and observation.

People on this board flog Tomlin all the time when he is winning. The issue is winning when it counts.

Another thing I notice is he gets rattled pretty easy too.

Honestly, the first year he was the starter I questioned if he was going to be as good as everyone said he would be.
 
I saw that under Franklin PSU is 15-29 against Top 25 opponents. While widely regarded as a Top 10 program, that suggests that they shouldn’t be.

They were in the final four. I’d say that’s a top 10 program. But I get what you’re saying.

It would help a lot if they could recruit WR’s as well as they recruit every other position. Might win a few more those 29 that they lost to top 25 programs. Ohio State’s 4th WR is probably better than any WR Penn State has. I mean, Liam Clifford is in your top 3. If that’s the case, you don’t have much at WR.
 
Would also help if Allar didn’t throw like Edward Scissorhands 10 plays a game.

Thing is, it ultimately didn't matter. They ended up beating Oregon in a rematch anyway, and if they win tonight, they are in the exact position many had them in at the beginning of the season. Playing for the championship.
Holding the Michigan game against them at this point is like holding the NIU game against Notre Dame. It's irrelevant. The only game that matters is the next one they play.

I have been a Franklin apologist since the boo birds started. Not anymore. They had the easiest path to the Championship game and had to beat a 💩 Notre Dame team. Notre Dame IS NOT A TOP 10 TEAM. Texas will monkey stomp them and Ohio State will beat them so bad that the crowd will start chanting mercy like Notre Dame is William Wallace. Who knows maybe then the brass in the athletic department will see how awful Franklin is
