College Football Week 15 Champ Week

I will say this. Oregon is not winning a national championship. That defense can be had. A team that doesn’t shoot themselves in the foot repeatedly throughout the game is going to crush Oregon. Penn State has no business being in this game. Yet here they are.
PSU very easily could have won that game. On defense PSU couldn't cover the O receivers. And the PSU WRs are not good enough IMO. Have not been all year. Just like that interception on the last drive. Allar should have never thrown that deep ball. There wasnt a chance in hell he was getting behind the defender. Honestly I dont think I have seen a WR for PSU make a play like that all year. They are just not good enough.

Then you can fault whoever thought it was a good idea to even call a play like that. Down 1 score and at mid field with timeouts and 2 minutes left? Oh ya, and also with the best TE in the nation.....Chuck the ball down field? Seriously.

You can point to about 10 different mistakes they made that handed Oregon points aside of the pathetic officiating. Hell if Allar doesn't throw those picks they win.

I agree Oregon comes up against a sold defense and a team that doesn't make mistakes they can be beat.

I may have been more than half drunk by the end of the night. I remember the games being entertaining. Im looking forward to the playoff. Are they doing a selection show like they do for basketball?
12:00 today

All are right Ped State could have won the BUT Oregon could have easily blow the doors off them if they played D

Since the champs aren’t in this farcical tourney I won’t root for a team but against teams OSU,PSU,Notre Dame and prolly Bama

If PENN state played some defense they could have blown the doors off Oregon just as easily.

Franklin just didn't have the D ready to play in the 1st half. Four easy TD's to Oregon before he made any adjustments at halftime. This outcome, unfortunately, was not a surprise. Them coming back to even have a chance is what is a surprise. I still doubt they can win in the playoffs. I think a Franklin team might be good enough for maybe 1 or 2 wins in ten playing the top 12 teams. If the bracket falls as I have seen this morning with them as the 5, they should actually have a shot to win at home and then beat Arizona State (I think that's who it was) on the road. I'd be shocked but those 2 games are about as easy as they could have hoped for.

Penn State with an easy path to the semis. Easiest by far as the 6th seed.

Alabama didn’t get shafted. Problem is fans of that team can’t imagine a world where Alabama isn’t playing for a natty. They lost to two unranked teams, badly to the most recent one. No top 10 team with that on their resume deserves a spot, even if a team like SMU gets in.

The good news for their fans is Alabama recruits well and they’ll be right back in the thick of it next year. NIL really has closed the gap between the haves and have nots, at least to a degree. But Alabama is still a brand held n high regard so they’ll still attract 4 and 5 star athletes, just not 15 more than everyone else.

Don’t lose to Vandy and you’re in
No one to blame but themselves

Class of 2025 quarterback Chase Herbstreit, the son of ESPN analyst and former Ohio State quarterback Kirk Herbstreit, committed to Michigan on Sunday afternoon.

Herbstreit will join the Wolverines on scholarship as the second quarterback in the program's 2025 class alongside five-star passer and No. 1 overall prospect Bryce Underwood, who signed with Michigan when the early signing period opened earlier this week. Herbstreit does not hold a rating in ESPN's class rankings for the 2025 class.

Herbstreit arrives in the Wolverine's incoming class following his senior season at Cincinnati's St. Xavier High School. The 6-foot-2, 185-pound quarterback totaled 26 touchdowns in his final high school season, leading St. Xavier to a regional final last month.

Bama has no complaint. Are they better than Boise or SMU? Probably. But they lost 3 games. The killer loss is to Oklahoma. because it was late in the year and they were dominated. Bama clearly looked like a team getting worse as the year progressed.

It was assumed that the 5 seed would be the easiest slot, but it may be the 6 seed.

Every first round matchup has a spread of 7.5 or more.

Penn State has a good matchup with SMU. SMU has a mobile QB and some speed at WR but I don't think they'll be able to block Penn State. The weather will be a factor. It's gonna be cold and that will bother people from Texas.

I think Ohio State will destroy Tennessee. OSU is pissed off and I think they will be more aggressive on offense after going way too conservative vs Michigan. I don't think Tenn's QB will fare well against the OSU defense.

Indiana can beat Notre Dame. People write them off because they couldn't beat Ohio State. Notre Dame can't beat Ohio State either.

Clemson has a shot vs Texas. Something is missing with Texas. They're soft. They're used to rolling over people with a talent disparity. Clemson has plenty of athletes.

It sucks that Ohio State and Oregon will meet in rd 2. I think the winner of that game will make it to the championship.

I'm thinking final 4 will be

Penn State vs Georgia - this seems very likely. Penn State will be a big favorite vs SMu and Boise. I think Georgia will obliterate either Indiana or Notre Dame.

Ohio State vs Texas - this one is tough. Ohio State vs Oregon can go either way. I also think Texas can lose to Clemson. ASU looks good but I don't think they faced a team anywhere near as talented as Texas. Maybe ASU can beat Clemson if they get past Texas. In any case, I think the winner of Ohio State vs Oregon will make it through to the end.

I agree, Tape. They really need to re-seed after the first round and need to seriously look at how they seed the 12 teams in the future. This isn't the NFL with divisions where they all play each other and have a schedule formula that works. College has too many variables to strictly seed conference champions.

Ohio State vs. Tennessee should be the best game on paper, but Ohio State is arguably the second-best team in the entire playoff. It could just as well be a blowout as it could come down the the last minute.

Penn State vs. SMU is the easiest matchup. As you pointed out, Penn State should outmuscle SMU. While they'll have trouble with the speed at receiver, SMU struggled in 40 degrees in Charlotte.

Notre Dame vs. Indiana is tough because I don't know how good either team is. Indiana clearly can't hang with the big boys, but has some serious firepower against lesser competition. Notre Dame quietly had a good season, I just don't trust their QB.

Texas vs Clemson is interesting because this is the type of game Texas could choke away. Dabo has a ton of playoff experience and knows how to prepare for this type of environment. However, if Clemson doesn't have a running game, they won't win if they have to lean on Klubnik for a full game.
