Succinct summation:

There are many actual vaccines that have been shown to be beneficial, M-M-R, Varicella, pneumococcal, poliovirus, smallpox, etc.
To say otherwise, in my opinion. is at best disingenuous. The anti-vax crowd is like the boy that cried wolf.

The mRNA product on the other hand isn't a vaccine in the traditional sense, never achieving the results of an attenuated vaccine.

I appreciate your expertise. What I've read on MMR is different from that, and my personal experience with the smallpox makes me one of those for whom the outcome wasn't good.

That aside, can you point out where I can find a list of vaccines ranked by either safety or efficacy?

(i used to get two "allergy" shots per week as a kid, for several years, so i have no fear of anything put in a needle, but I fear that others with weaker constitutions need far more precautions)

I'm not aware of any list ranking vaccine safety per se, just my own common-sense way of thinking for what that's worth.
Literally anything that we put in our bodies can have a side-effect, some substances more than others and affecting some individuals more than others. What I do know it that diseases such as polio and smallpox were once prevalent in this country and because of the vaccines those diseases are no longer a threat. I have no doubt that they also cause issues for some but were beneficial to the vast majority of those receiving them.

Everything needs to be balanced on a risk-benefit scale, and for most vaccines the benefits do outweigh the risks. This is true with any medication.
There are no 100% guarantees, if the first do no harm was taken literally, nothing would ever be done.

thanks. I truly understand what you wrote.

But here's the thing. Let's assume that each vax has 1% negative reaction. Forgetting severity of that reaction, who would be better off statistically with getting more vs less shots?

It cannot be the case that each vax is "as good", "as necessary" or "as safe" as all the rest. Why doesn't science provide a ranking so that all involved in informed decision making can utilize full information?

Said differently, why don't we simply DOUBLE the number of vaccinations? The response is about measuring diminishing returns due to lower efficacy or safety, right? How is that different measuring the 70+ doses now mandated vs the 10+ from a generation ago? How is that possibly safer/better? If it is better, please show me that quantification.....
