Agree 100%. That is why it is imperative that those in the high-risk group - those 65 and older, with diabetes, with compromised immunity or lung disease, the obese - get the vaccine. It means a lot to them.
Fit people under age 50 with no such comorbidity? Vaccine just does not mean much.
Agreed, though to be fair, natural immunity seems to have longer staying power and provides even more protection.
Which is why, as I have said for months, as TSF has said for months, as Supe has said for months, etc., those with natural immunity do not need the shot and certainly should never be ORDERED to take a medication they don't want and don't need.
Agreed. If you are in the group that stands to benefit, get the damn vaccine. If you don't need the vaccine, your choice.
What I have said for at least eight months. Numerous others have stated that position as well.
Maybe. Could be. But putting masks on kids makes zero sense. They don't get the Chinese flu very often, they don't get serious complications from the Chinese flu, they don't spread the Chinese flu, their risk of serious consequences is demonstrably lower than their risk from regular flu, drowning, etc. Further, the dozens of examples of those in charge putting on masks for show - AOC and the photo op, the Biden official shown putting on the mask right before walking to the microphone, then taking the mask off to speak, i.e., not actually wearing the mask and instead putting on a show, Fauci with his mask around his neck at the baseball game, Gavin Haircut with no mask at a dinner, Pelosi with no mask while getting her hair done, and on and on - have dramatically undercut the credibility of those giving directions and very often orders.
I had suspected by the summer of 2020 that masks were not doing much since the mask areas had basically the same number of cases as the non-masked. I still wore the thing into the grocery store because ordered to do so. By late 2020 and early 2021, it was pretty apparent to me that the mask orders were much less about health than about control.
If the government had been honest all along and admitted what the masking did and didn't do, I would give them much more credence. Instead, they flat-out lied to me, so my belief that mask orders are about control makes more sense than the claim it has any appreciable effect on spreading the Chinese flu.
Okay, I can certainly see that. But a lot of our elected leaders have made overtly hostile statements about those who will not get the vaccine, including the millions who don't NEED the vaccine. Can't work, can't go to school, can't use public transportation, fired, denied unemployment.
Those are hostile actions for not taking a vaccine that is waning and less effective than natural immunity, no?
Also I think I recall a guy saying something like, "No jab, no job," no matter natural immunity. Do you recall who that guy was?
No doubt. But shutting in-person learning in schools is killing our kids' learning, and the simple fact of the matter is that the vast majority of lower and middle class need in-person schooling to look after their kids while they work. The cannot simply afford full-time day care, 8 to 10 hours per day, and therefore cannot work while schools remain closed mainly to mollify teacher's unions.
I ask you to look at the issues regarding in-person schooling with the same degree of thought you have proffered in your post. Tell me why schools should remain closed, other than to satisfy a huge political base for a certain political party.
Because of the following:
- Lockdowns are killing the middle class. The lockdowns went on for month after month after we were told that they would last a couple weeks, then a month, then maybe a couple months.
- All those extolling lockdowns seem never to miss a paycheck.
- Schools were kept closed despite the fact schools remained open in Europe, with basically no adverse results.
- Schools remained closed despite a plethora of data showing kids were the LEAST vulnerable population and that shutting down in-person learning had devastating consequences on kids relative to their learning, social interaction, happiness, etc.
- Finally, we witnessed time after time after time after time instances where the political class - the "elite" who gained elite status not for intellect or honesty or competence or innovation or bravery or courage but instead because they could get elected - flagrantly ignored the rules they imposed on the rest of us.
- And those shitbags never missed a paycheck, had their kids get in-person teaching at private schools, while telling us to accept government cheese and Zoom learning for our kids.
