Cuts

So are you saying they made sweet heart deal with Gentry not to sign anywhere until they sort out second punter.
Tgey used to do that with Batch and a couple other low end vets too iirc… you can’t do it with a guy who is still subject to waivers or a really big contract… but Gentry fits the mold, I think…

So everyone is clear… Vets with 4 or more years of accrued experience ( on a roster for most of the year and not ps players) aren’t subject to waivers … so teams often cut a guy with an agreement to resign them after moving a guy to ir or something like that…

Gentry developed into a solid backup given his relative lack of experience at tight end. Although I thought he'd be the odd man out of the lineup, I still liked having four deep at tight end. However, I wouldn't mind seeing him get a shot at a No. 2 job elsewhere.

I want to see a lot of 2 TE sets, therefore I want blocking Gentry to stay

Not sure why we have 2 punters.... Only Gentry and Norwood were somewhat surprises. I would have kept either over a second punter, but maybe they have a master plan

Seeing that we currently have 24 players on offense & 25 on defense I'm thinking they'll want to bring a offensive player back once one of the punters gets traded, probably will be Gentry.

Also I'd like to see them try to get a better 4th CB than Pierre, he stayed because Trice got injured. Riley and Sullivan don't play outside CB leaving only one good backup (and future starter) in JP Jr.

Gentry really was the only big surprise for me. I figured Riley took Norwood’s spot.
I was hoping beyond hope that Fitzpatrick would displace gunner… but they need their Switzer clone fix lol

Eagles released CB Greedy Williams, former 2nd rounder with size at 6-2, 180.

I haven't followed him in the NFL but he was very good in college. Would he be an upgrade over James Pierre?

it appears the Saints cut both Jesse James and Bradley Roby. Roby would be worth kicking the tires on

He was one of the few interesting cuts…i think he’d be a upgrade on Sullivan

I figure Zappe is going to get claimed, but he would have been worth a PS spot as a qb for next year… though I doubt he’d voluntarily sign here with Pickett in the way of his progression lol

Bud Brought a Buddy - Steelers allow Dupree to walk
Grillin' and Chillin' - Zach Gentry Cut

If you're a Steeler, avoid getting a show.

he was a high 3rd round pick....so yes he made the team

he will also be handling the PR duties

I know it was a pipe dream, but I would have liked Tank here……….. If Austin 3 wasn’t here I’d venture to say that the FO would have went after him.
