Deflate-gate......God I hate the Pats!!!!

This was all the ball boy. He probably heard Tom Brady say one time in practice how he wished the balls were underinflated so he could grip them better, so he took it COMPLETELY upon himself to help Tom out without the knowledge of anyone in the oraganization. The Patriots will fire this miscreant and all will be right again in the NFL.

The NFL has conclusive evidence that the under-inflated footballs used by the New England Patriots in the AFC Championship Game were altered by people, eliminating some of the theories presented by those giving the Pats the benefit of the doubt, according to a report.

Monday Morning Quarterback’s Peter King reports that all 12 of the Patriots’ and all 12 of the Colts’ footballs left the officials’ locker room before the game at the proper level of inflation. He says when the balls were re-checked by officials at halftime, 11 OR 12 of the Patriots’ balls were under-inflated by two pounds per square inch, while the Colts’ balls remained the same level of pressure. The Patriots had to re-inflate their balls to normal levels for the second half, and when the balls were checked at the end of the game, all 24 were of proper inflation.

Exactly what I was saying to my husband last night.

Brady is a terrible liar. His face looked like my kids faces when they were three and insisted they had no knowledge of how that marker got all over the freshly painted walls.

I think a bag of balls were exchange. The refs handed the equipment manager approved games balls and then he swapped them with Brady approved balls before taking them to the field. Easy as that. Just my opinion.

Operation "Baby Swap". Yep !!!

I haven't heard ONE NFL or ex-NFL player (especially QB's) stand up for Lying Lipped Tom since his interview today...

I guess the equipment manager will have to pay the 25K - get fired and this will be done w/ by Friday night.

Shame on Roger Goodell if that does happen...

The equipment manager will be the sacrificial lamb or the ball boy....now im curious as to what back alley conversations (compensation granted to be the fall-guy) will be had with either when the hatchet drops because if im either, as soon as i get lynched by this organization, im contacting Stone Phillips, Oprah, CNN to give an interview for a donation of 300K to spill the beans and the chili on this franchise about who ordered me to do what and how long ive done it for. **** me over, and ****** you right back with a pay out comin.

The person within that organization that knows the degree of cheating could literally make millions by releasing a book describing the culture of cheating within that franchise

My guess is that Bilicheat compartmentalizes everything. So no one person knows the entire story outside of him and maybe Adams. The ball boy doesn't know about the radio signals. The radio guy doesn't know about the balls etc...

I thought this was an interesting article on game balls:

http://mobile.nytimes.com/2013/11/2...nd=ref~{"ref":"https://www.google.com/"}&_r=2

Personally, I think Brady has to take the fall. I think it was mostly on him anyhow by either verbally or non-verbally indicating to the ball boys/men that he likes his game balls a bit underinflated in bad weather.

I suspect they've been doing it forever and possibly other teams do as well.

Belichick/team get fined again for it being on their watch and creating an atmosphere where Brady is allowed to imply and subtlely encourage cheating. But Brady taking the fall and responsibility might be the only resolution (and Brady might get suspended a game or two next year).

The other option is for the league to admit it didn't care and it's inactions in the past made it okay for QB's to "doctor" the ball to their liking. That it has been aware for decades that teams/QB's alter the balls during games and as long as it wasn't too great, the referees were directed to "let it go". That would provide an accuse for the Patriots to do what they did and the league can just say "from now on, we're going to enforce the rules on ball pressure more literally".

And yet according to Tom, he can't tell the difference between balls as the game is going on. His press conference was the biggest pile of bullshit I've seen in quite some time.

The opportunity to go that route has already passed. This has gotten too big now.

Had the league on Monday made a statement to the effect of "everyone does it, which is our fault for being too lenient on the rules and pregame monitoring of the balls" the initial outrage would have died down rather quickly.

oh, i doubt anything we come up with for an "acceptable" excuse is going to be released by the NFL.
they've got a high-dollar PR team that will figure something out that will amaze all of us with their baffling bullshit.

Exactly right. That ship has sailed.

Brady is a horrible liar. Watching him try to lie his way out of that was painful. Like watching a 7 year old telling their dad they didn't spill the milk while standing on a milky white spot with the jug in their hands.

The NFL issued a statement Friday on "DeflateGate," saying it's been determined that footballs used by the Patriots in the second half of Sunday's AFC Championship Game were properly inflated, but footballs used by the Patriots in the first half were "under-inflated."
The investigation is being led by Ted Wells and Jeff Pash. Wells and Pash have interviewed 40 people, and their investigation remains "ongoing" with no timetable for a resolution. Per the initial statement, "The goals of the investigation will be to determine the explanation for why footballs used in the game were not in compliance with the playing rules and specifically whether any noncompliance was the result of deliberate action." The Patriots have publicly denied altering footballs at any point before or during last Sunday's game.

The cover up and the lying make this much worse than it really is, especially because the lies are just so damn insulting to everyone's intelligence.

So did they disqualify the *'s yet and call Indy up instead?

I personally believe that the **s deflated the 2nd half balls as soon as they got them and then inflated them again at the end of the game so they could be returned to the officials.

Given their history, I'm pretty sure that's EXACTLY what Belichick would do.

Brady is a horrible liar.
Actually, I think Brady told "precisely" the truth. He said something very close to "I didn't alter the balls in any way". Then later he said "I picked out 12 balls that were EXACTLY the way I WANTED them. And that's EXACTLY how they were in the game.

In other words, he set up the balls with the right feel and pressure ahead of the game and left the rest to the equipment guys to see to it that the balls met specs. (Undoubtedly under orders to do so by any means necessary.) He did tell the truth. He told his guys I want the balls to be EXACTLY like this, which was 2 lbs underinflated. Which is against the rules.

Pretty straightforward really.

that's going to happen as soon as Buff sends me backpay for being a mod

Listen we all know the Colts did it ..because they knew the Cheats were better than they were and had to make them look bad somehow..

He said more than that. He said he didn't know how it happened. Which is a lie. He was squirming like a snake trying to get away from a lawn mower.

Don King for Commish.......

I am with Stephan A Smith on this: I don't want to talk about this nonsense a minute longer. If I see/hear anyone still focused on this issue that doesn't deserve so much attention, I will turn the channel, stop reading, etc. They have overblown this on a colossal level. I will take no part in it. F off. t's not deserving of so much attention.
