Diontae Johnson Supposedly Looking for 15mil Per Year

Receivers are too easy to draft and the Steelers have been good at drafting them. I would rather use the money elsewhere or on JuJu and Washington.

If Jameson Williams is there at 1.20... you've now found your WR1 for the next 5 years at a minimum.
Wig shivers in the corner, plagued with memories of Troy Edwards and Limas Sweed...

they should trade johnson now his numbers lie just like Wallaces did. he had a HOF qb throwing to him and he had over 130 targets that's ridiculous send him to detroit for picks next year. address the defense this year get a few picks for next year we'll have better idea of our qb needs and there are a lot better prospects next year.

This. Let’s get some picks for him. To small and weak. Runs sideways / backwards and drops to many. No defense fears this guy. Not a 1 in my opinion.

The pro bow status has this guy on something lol.
I’ll have whatever he’s having

Whatever they offer DJ, I would offer more to JuJu.

Ridder and even Howell, who some have us taking, would be huge reaches in the 1st round.
While I agree, many mocks are hellbent that the Steelers will draft a QB, which is why they will reach in the first round.

Like it or not thats fair market value. He was a top ten WR last year and despite the narrative here he had fewer drops than a lot of guys making big bank. Claypool had more than him.

Inflation is going to mess with fan’s perspective of contract value… the cap is going to skyrocket in a couple years.. you probably will be seeing bad starters getting more than stars were getting a few years back in the not too distant future

By 2027 its expected to be at 328 million per team… hopefully they increase roster size or the average contract is going to be over 6 million per year….

Not making an opinion but does under 1200 yards in 17 games put you in the top 20?
He was in the top ten in yards, catches and was no where near the top ten in drops… or top twenty for that matter… DJ is a really really good wr… Antonio Brown lite minus the over the top meltdowns thus far….

He is one of my least favorite players on this team. Too many times (and it seems to be a lot of times) i see him giving up on plays. When the ball is not coming to him he quits on plays very early. It seems that when the ball is coming to him if he can't get it he gives up on the play (not always a big deal but if its intercepted, which is has been theres no effort from him). I don't see much blocking from him when he doesn't have the ball. Just seems like a piss poor effort from this guy a lot of times. That's not even mentioning the Dropsies he has.

Not to split hairs but he was not in the top ten in yards.

Divide his production by his snaps and see how he compares to the others. Then consider that he could be signed for 1/5th the price of Johnson.
Can't really do that. He didn't get the snaps for a reason. After Juju he should have easily seen a ton of field and targets. He seems like a likeable guy and hard worker but he was pretty much a non factor. He had ample opportunity to shine.
