Draft discussion thread.

I felt it was a pretty good draft. It certainly didn't go the way the "experts" had predicted and those of you on here who soaked all that drivel up and regurgitated it on here.

1. We picked up a solid DE who will be starting in a few years, and certainly contributing at points this year.
2. We picked up some depth at ILB and Shazier will be damn good pass rusher for us.
3. We drafted a ******* wall at NT
4. Big Ben has two new targets that can get up there and catch his overthrows
5. We have a blistering PR/KR. It's a 50/50 shot as to whether he's Antwan Randall El or Stefan Logan. He was a reach in the third.
6. We picked up a nice ILB who will contribute on ST and not much more
7. We picked up a big boy CB with very raw talent that he Steelers can mold into a beast...just in time for him to have a break out year and leave for more money...*cough*Keenen Allen*Cough*

When it's all said and done, when looking at who the Steelers brought in during Free Agency and who they just drafted, I think they will be a better team. It's going to be rough for a few more years and it's going to take time for the draft choices to learn and become the talents that they need to be, the firing of Todd Haley, and at least one whole season with Pouncey and Decastro healthy to see the SB again.

Know your goddamn definitions boy !!!...its prejudice...not racism...look up the ****** word racism and compare the two ..theres a difference.

You told me we dislike Tomlin due to his race. Here's the definition of racism:

a belief that race is the primary determinant of human traits and capacities and that racial differences produce an inherent superiority of a particular race

Not even you can keep track of your babbling bullshit.

So did mikey get us to the playoffs his first six years with out a franchise qb?

Excellent breakdown, and I concur.

+1 from me.

We still need OLB depth and a third down back. I think Arnfeldt, UDFA Mauro, and maybe Keisel can rotate with Tuitt for DE depth. I guess Harrison can be brought in for depth, but I really wanted Gayle or Jeffcoat as UDFA's. I also think that LSH can be resigned as the 3rd down back.

Don't think Keisel is coming back. Lebeau indicated that Tuitt is likely to start. They're not going to bring Keisel back for reserve duty.

Have they announced which of our players can't participate in OTA's? We can't afford to have anyone start behind the curve. Missing OTA's really hurts rookies.

I am not sure if the schools that have the quarters system or what ever it was still fall under that rule. I thought (and I might be wrong) that the new collective bargaining contract changed this or one of the governing bodies for the colleges changed it.

I hope so. It puts the rookies so far behind to the point, they rarely get to play. We need all the time we can get with our rookies this year.

Uh, who was it who decided that Neil, T-czak, Kordell, Kent Graham, and Maddox were good enough to get the job done, and who wanted to draft a lineman instead of Ben? Just saying. People want to bash the current regime for the mediocre talent they've had along the o-line, and at cornerback, despite the fact that they reached the SB twice with these guys, but want to praise Cowher for winning with bad quarterbacks, when it was his decision to go with these bad qbs in the first place.

I think I read in the Trib that all the rookies will be able to participate in OTAs. Ohio State for one is no longer on the quarters system (which in the past prevented their player for participating in OTAs).
