I have lactose intolerance and have to put soy milk on my cereal.

I keep hoping he'll show something, but I've yet to see a single play where I thought "damn he's fast"... his speed just doesn't seem to translate.

Hmm. Haven't noticed the ******** funny. Have to eat them fast. Once they get soggy I throw them away.

So the 94th pick isn't high but Jones was a wasted pick at 115? What do you consider high? The fact is that you guys want to devalue the pick.. period. You want Archer to be a throw away pick because you know the Steelers blew the pick and several people that you don't like hated it. You're ok with blasting Jones (even though he was drafted later) because many of you guys hated the pick. It's really that simple and you know it. IF Jones was picked at 97 nobody would give a **** about "It was really a 4th round pick" bullshit.

No idea what the **** Jones has to do with this. More silliness to distract from the ridiculous notion of trading comp picks, I guess.

Your problem seems to be that you think I care about whether Dri was a good pick or not or that I need to justify anythink. I dont. Im not even sure ive ever said he was a good pick. I've said a number of times that I wouldn't have taken him, but you shouldn't let that bother you. I hope he succeeds in something because he seems like a good kid and a hard worker. Seems like he could be a good role model for some other members of the team.

97th, under virtually any scenario isn't a "high pick". To consider it so, is silly. I'd imagine people draw the line at different places. Anyone that considers 97th a "high pick" is, well, I don't know what they are thinking. Bringing up Jones or anyone else you care to bring up doesn't change that.

You get your panties all up in a bunch over the Archer pick so much that you have to whine and throw a fit because someone had the audacity to point out that 97th isn't such a "high pick", really. No endorsement of the Archer pick was either written or implied. Just one comment that you have to go on and on and on and on and on....well, you get my meaning.

If Archer is cut tomorrow it will be no skin off my back. I won't have been either right or wrong about the pick.

I never said you could trade comp. picks that's just you putting words into my mouth. I said you could trade 3rd rounders. I had forgotten he was a comp. pick. My point was that 3rd rounders aren't traded that often. He was a 3rd rounder even if you don't like it.

You can piss and whine all you want it won't change anything. Maybe you need to change your pad because of the time of month? If nobody considers 97th a high pick then why ***** about Jones was my point. I understand you don't want to see that because it doesn't fit you agenda.

Yea, you care so little about Archer that you spent time debating him on here. You're a real unbiased guy...

Yeah, I'm putting words in your mouth because you made a ridiculous point. My bad. I mean, there must be some reason the 97th pick is never traded. Must be because it is too valuable.

I guess Jones is relevant, but, for the life of me, I don't know why. Wasn't the same draft, has been on the team longer, has had more time to learn, plays a different, arguably more difficult position but only one position. I guess if I were trying to obscure the weak point I made earlier, I might try something else that was irrelevant?

I mean, after all, you can't possibly let such a ringing endorsement like "97th isn't a 'high pick'" go unpunished. Anyone who would be so incredibly dumb enough to say that must already be writing Dri's HoF speech and must be put in their place.

I posted this early in the game thread, as I was shocked to hear the Pats coaches keep mentioning Dri Archer, like they were in the know that Haley was going to unleash him last night.

Damn, Dri Archer's been getting called out all week. First by Bellichik during his presser a few days ago, that they were game planning against him, now again tonight in pre-game, that the Pats are thinking Haley is going to utilize Archer against Pats big & heavy LB's. Not bad for a third round pick that's done nothing thus far. Again, maybe the Pats have been watching Kent State tape? No way they're taking Archer this seriously, are they?

Of course, we all know what transpired...

Dri Archer - RB - Steelers
Dri Archer was held without a touch in the Steelers' Week 1 loss to the Patriots. If Archer was on the field before the Steelers' final drive, we didn't see it. That's despite the fact that Le'Veon Bell is on suspension. The Steelers view Archer as a strict special teamer.

Maybe Belichik and the Pats were trying to psyche the Steelers into using Archer...have no idea why his name kept coming up in the pressers, as Archer is a rarely-used gadget player.

In pregame, Rodney Harrison said he spoke with Pats D-coordinator and said he told him that he expects Dri to be a big part of Steeler's offensive scheme... I was actually shocked.

Who wasn't on the field when NE punted.....so basically, strictly special teamer who's only on Kickoffs which all but one went thru the endzone.

The one return from the endzone he did take and he only got back to the 15. He is useless. I hope he is gone when Bell gets back. Not a single reason to keep him on the team.

Archer should not even be on the team...it's totally rediculous

There was no blocking on that play. Regardless, I agree, he doesn't have a role. I wouldn't ditch him until the end of the season though. Our roster is not so deep that we can't keep him around to see whether he can actually return kicks when the weather gets cold and not every kickoff goes through the uprights.

We now have an experienced return man on the roster ( Todman ), Archer is a sea anchor.

Dri Archer is useless. The decision to keep him on the 53-man roster was dogshit. End of story.

Can't argue there. But, if the kick is half way in the endzone, stay there - especially with how bad it seems our blocking is. In one of the pre-season games, he came out of the endzone with a three man crew in front of him to block. The three men only made it to the 15 before the opposing team plowed them over and tackled Dri. If that is all he and we can do on kickoffs, then there is no reason to save a roster spot for him. It is a wasted spot no matter how you look at it.

He would appear to be a wasted roster spot, I agree, but it's not like we cut someone great to keep him. When Bell and Bryant come back, we can move Nix and Tyler Murphy to the practice squad (where they belong). So I'm not really sweating the roster spot at this point. If he can't turn into a real threat returning kicks by mid-season, set him loose.

should have taken a CB instead Stanley jean batise or Kieth Mcgill rather then this useless midget.

The same Stanley Jean-Baptiste who was drafted by the Saints in the SECOND ROUND and then cut last week???????? He was drafted at #58. Dri was #97.

Pick his @ss up, put him as the KO return man, bet he does better than our short legged hero............

If some one can show the replay of the return and show the gaping hole Archer missed I would gladly go to Pittsburgh and punch Archer in the face. Nothing his little *** could do about it either.

I'm not saying there was a hole a mile wide, but not even a slice. I haven't seen the replay or rewatched the game. As long as he is on the team, I'll be rooting for him. I'm NOT trying to sell him short....................... But remember he doesn't have nearly as far to fall.
