I really hate to say that you're being intentionally obtuse, but the historical precedent of punishment for these charges is a long list.

Dollars to donuts future individual charged with similar crimes will not only push for but expect similar deals. He deserved prison time, I know it, you know it, everyone knows it.

They don’t. They don’t report on this type of event or when it’s a gang related mass shooting where a black shooter caps another gang member along with three or four bystanders. In fact, they will kill reportage on a non-white male mass shooter as soon as they can. The most recent example is the Nashville Christian school shooter(still waiting for that manifesto) that the MSM stopped talking about in two days time. This is because they are driving a narrative to press for civilian disarmament. They push the white male shooter narrative in particular because white males vote conservative and reject socialism.
