Losing to the 3rd string Browns offense is a new low even for Tomlin.
Its almost like Tomlin and his buddy McDermott thought the playoffs started and did what they do best. Lose the biggest games in inexcusable fashion.
 
It always, always, always comes back to this for me. Could you win a Championship with Coach Mike Tomlin in the future. How anyone could possibly believe that is totally beyond me. So yes you will have to risk 9 and 10 win seasons. BUT you are going to do that anyhow cause he is not coaching here for eternity and he's not winning a SB. So the sooner you start, the sooner you will become an actual relevant contender. It's inevitable.

LMFAO, sure, you keep on hoping. I think I will be stuck in a bed undergoing hospice care when I am 90 effing years old and this guy will still be spitting out .500 Steelers football seasons like its nothing. Nobody does .500 like Mike does.

I envision something like lying on my deathbed, watching some schmuck on TV spouting off about how other teams would snatch 80 year old Mike Tomlin up in a second if the Steelers fired him.......

Then I take my last breath and die.....

At this point I wouldn't be surprised if that happens lol.

So they aren’t top rated? Hmm shocking that they only mentioned it multiple times during the broadcast. Don’t be Kentucky.

I was just looking at the week 17 receiver separation metric....our receivers not named Metcalf are in the bottom third of that list...Freiermuth coming out on top of a list of scrubs.

Look Leb. I’m not going to sit here and argue with you. Look it up yourself at pro football reference. If you consider a defense tops in the rated in the NFL when they are 20th ranked in points given up ,I don’t know what to say. 20 teams are doing better than them. 20. That’s top ranked? I consider in the top 5 top ranked.

It’s no different than you going on and on about our defense today. Yes I thought they played well except the 1st quarter. But you can’t simply dismiss the first quarter. 10-0 and a phantom taunting call saved them from more.The way the game turned out they lost the game because of the first quarter.

But let’s not forget their offense is ranked 31st out of 32 in points scored. 31 teams score more than them. You would think the NFL’s top paid defense could have at least an average game against them. I mean let’s get serious here. And never mind injuries. All teams have top guys out.

Well I agree in the points ranking but strangely that isn’t how they rank defenses. Many of points they have given up has been a product of their terrible offense as well. I am not dismissing the first quarters but anytime you only give up 13 the defense did its job. They also got the ball back for the offense when needed. The failure that cost us this game wasn’t the defense even taking the first quarter into account.
 
I hope they boo Tomlin out of the stadium next game.

I never said our defense played lousy. Nor did I say they were the cause of defeat. A blind man could tell you when a team scores 2 field goals they usually lose. I simply disagreed with your statement that the Browns were a top defense. And you can’t simply dismiss say whatever you want,but points for and against matter. I guess when the Steelers allowed 9.9 points a game in 76 it doesn’t matter to you😁

Just for reference. Based on the most common metric used, average yards allowed they are ranked 2nd at 277. In defensive EPA they are ranked 3rd which I still don’t truly understand to be honest. They are a damned good defense. That said we should have beat them if Rodgers doesn’t **** the bed locking in receivers.
 
FWIW, Paul Zeise said tonight that if the Steelers lose next week Tomlin should be fired by Monday. Have any other local talking heads said the same?

You have to be the first guy in history to say that points do not matter just so you can continue arguing. If you think being 20 th out of 32 in that respect is a top defense,I don’t know what to say. Some teams have a bend and don’t break,give up yards but don’t give up much in the RedZone. You do realize that points win games ,right? And giving up points losses games.
Anyway we will agree to disagree.
