FBI executes search warrant at Trump's Mar-a-Lago

I never understand why people think that DJT is the ONLY one who can clean out the "swamp". He didn't do it in the 4 yrs he was in office, and in fact appointed several swamp people in high ranking positions.

Sarge says it best - who would want to work with/for him. I mean, they would be attacked and ostracized, plus Trump wouldn't exactly have their backs either. No good people are going to sign up for that.

You want the swamp cleaned out? You have to start with the state/local swamps first and then get to the federal level. Unfortunately at that level the donor class controls the strings - a huge fight to be had for this country.

The people who turned on him should not have been there to begin with and weren't for long. He had to rely on Reince Priebus, Mike Pence, and Jeff Sessions to name a few to help fill his cabinet. Many mistakes were made I'll give you that.

If he's as unpopular as you suggest, how did he get 12 million more votes in 2020? How was he able to steer the U.S. economy to record gains with so many people that didn't want to ruin their personal careers by working for him? How was he able to wipe isis from the map in 6 mos. after he got rid of Mattis? How was he able to sign the Abraham Accords with so many in his cabinet that weren't interested in ME peace?

I'm of the opinion that if it's your personal career you're really only there for, then you're not needed at the highest level of government in any administration.
 
DeSantis is the same thing, but with 10 times more tactical ability,common sense and he won't make an *** out of himself constantly.

I personally wouldn't want to lose him as my governor, we almost had a druggie loser shitfuck who hires male prostitutes for governor over him. Yeah, it was that close.If anyone is going to get it done it's him.

its not so much personal career, its the aftermath.

you're only guaranteed a job as long as Trump is in office, and as long as he's happy with you. after that, what are you going to do? look at his cabinet. he had family for a reason. he knew that the Dems would attack everyone and anyone he had with him.

Naïve of me to think that going to work in the public square is a higher calling I know. But it's how I feel can't deny it. As to the aftermath well, most of them are lawyers and there'll never be a shortage of work there.

I will give answering your question a shot.

The man is fabulously wealthy and can't be bought. He has a billion dollar business empire and he won't be beholden to lobbyists to finance his lifestyle with $150K an hour speaking engagements after he leaves office.

Most people in D.C. want to make it a career and still need a job after they guy they worked for is gone. Message is being sent by the Swamp/Dims that if you work for Trump, or really any non-GOPe 'er, we'll make sure you never work in this town again.

Mister Newt made the point on Hannity this afternoon that for the Swampers anything they can do to harm Trump and any Republicans is fair game because if he wins then life as they know it is over.

You’re missing the point. It’s not about how popular he is with voters, or what he accomplished. He is poison to anyone that wants a career in DC or any kind of career after DC. You think the swamp won’t absolutely destroy anyone that signs on to his administration? That’s pretty much common knowledge, and everyone knows that going in, especially now. No one who wants anything for their life after Trump is signing up for that, no matter how noble the endeavor is.

They are trying to play it off like nobody from that local office let any higher ups know that they were raiding the house of a former us president … which is simply not believable

There are several great takes by democrats and moderates… there simply isn’t a good excuse why they would enact a full fledged raid rather than just issue a subpoena for what you want… this was a fishing expedition at best. Anyone defending this, REGARDLESS of what the warrant was for, is just a person hating on trump… there are literally hundreds of simular cases that never had that level of action performed….
