Final Cuts (ongoing thread)

Jones talked after the final game as he would be thinking of the players cut as if he knew he was on the team. makes NO sense keeping him. Looking forward to Sunday and having faith we look better going into the season.

Still may be injured and the bengals changed defenses when mike zimmer left. So he no longer fits their scheme. At the time they picked him, Still was a good fit and a good pick.

Obviously if he is injured, i don't want him, but if he's healthy, he's a good prospect.

Im in for bringing anyone in who makes this team better. Our depth at OLB is disgraceful.

Simply stunning that Landry Jones is still on this team. What an absolute waste of a roster spot, though Mauro is the only guy on the cut list I wanted to see on the roster (however, a year on the practice squad seems practical).

Not sure they need six receivers with Archer likely to lineup in the slot. I guess they lack experience so are going heavy on the position rather.

I hope he makes it.........He seemed like he was ready for the rotation.....he is certainly more ready than landry jones.

Was hoping Moye would get a break but not under Tomlin who seems to have it out for the kid. We keep a project in Bryant who never once over tried to get a ball. We keep jones a QB that you have to shake your head at.

Besides being tall, what does Moye bring to the game?

Jeff Tuel looked damn good at qb for the Giants. He is way better than Landry Jones. Bring him in. Cut Jones.

With us keeping 6 WRs and 3 OLB, I'm half-expecting them to move Brown to the PS and pick up an OLB.

I looked into it a bit because i was curious if something was wrong with Still. Still's daughter has stage 4 cancer and he told the Bengals he wants to retire to be with her. It appears the Bengals may be doing him a favor by placing him on the practice squad so he can stay home with his daughter in Cincy and still draw a paycheck and have insurance.

If true a very classy move by the Bengals.

He kept Moye last year over someone he drafted yet he has it out for the kid? lol

This is a case of Colbert and Tomlin being unable to admit they made a huge mistake on wasting a 4th rounder on this piece of ****.

I don't think Shamarko was a mistake...

being slightly better than Justin Brown

Wrong. JB has better hands and uses his body better. Moye was a stopgap as the only tall receiver last year. This year he declined and JB improved significantly. You will see a lot of JB this year.

I also see that the coaching staff was right. Drafting a CB was moot since all the talent they needed was already there...

When is the practice squad announced?

I watched Brown for 3 years at Penn State and the knock on him was hands. He dropped many catchable balls. If he somehow now has great hands then they should have him give his secret to Ike.

Moye is better because he's better at getting open than Brown. Brown is on the team because they want a bigger body who can block on all the bubble screens they likely have planned for Archer.

I hope you are joking about having all the talent they need at CB.

FELLAS, FELLAS, WE NEED THREE QUARTERBACKS.

The reason I love Ben is that he plays like a psychopath. He's a modern day caveman out there throwing guys around like he's a lineman. But when a guy plays that way you need an insurance policy. Going into the season with that kind of injury risk and only one other QB would be foolhardy.

Now. It can be fairly argued that there are better #3 options available than Landry. But at this point, he's the guy who knows our offense. He was drafted because he was seen as a spiritual successor to Ben, big strong, mobile with an arm. Turns out he's just a slower Kordell who, incidentally, CAN'T play receiver.

I'm not disagreeing that we should have upgraded him in the off season (or that he isn't a wasted 3rd rounder). I'm saying that at this point cutting him would put us in hack should Ben go down.

If Ben goes down, the Steelers would be better off signing another QB to backup Gradkowski. Under no circumstances should Jones see the field this year.

It has been said many times before, if Ben goes down .... our season is over. The only valid point I can agree with that I have seen here is that we play 2 AFCN teams to start the season and they could pick up Landry and know our playbook inside and out.
