FIRE CANADA!!!!!!!

That is certainly one assumption that can be drawn from all of this. Look, I'm just saying that we shouldn't be pinning this all on Canada, he certainly deserves to be blamed for some of it, to the point of calling for the man's job. Not yet anyways.
The man was a fine offensive coordinator in college. However, the man is not going to have success in the NFL without a very mobile quarterback running his RPO offense. Ben obviously no longer fits that bill, and neither does Rudolph. Unless the Steelers decide go out next year and acquire a QB who can move and create plays with his legs, they're just going to be spinning their wheels with Canada's offense.

To a be an effective offensive coordinator in nfl, you form a game play, based on the the talent you have, based on the teams youre playing, put your guys in position to make plays and win the game… you’re not hired to say “oh gee I don’t think my ”master” game plan can be carried out without a running QB” Canada didn’t have a fukn clue as to what he was doing, with a young team and un-mobile, running an rpo offense, running Ben sideline to sideline, throwing dink n doink passes, our offense stinks! Lots of blame going around, just like last year, with blame going to Connor. Well guess the *** what, Connor‘s an All-Pro Probowler at Arizona! Only with Ben called the plays, mixing effectively the pass and run, did the offense move. Bens been using his “spidey senses” sensing what the line is capable of, making good use of the tight ends, keeping the young receivers “ involved” in the offense. If canada is kept it just shows how out to lunch Steeler management really is.. Ben has been carrying their *** forever! Watching the Rooney’s run the Steelers is like watching brandon trying to run the country… PAINFUL!

**** if this guy isn't packing his stuff Monday, that is a joke. Their production in the first half where you build a game plan going in was inexcusable. He has no feel for it. They were at third and short three times and never ran once. He is a putz and everything that is wrong with this organization is symbolized by his hire. There are 4-6 HC fired every year and at least two of them got there as offensive guys. And you trot this **** out?

How did we not run a single trick play, just anything different. Chiefs with their great offense are throwing to OL, TEs passing, WRs lining up in the back field. Meanwhile, we don’t even run a single misdirection, maybe a reverse? Just bizarre.

clearly you didnt see the fake handoff, fake pass, pause, and then hand off play

The fake handoff, pump fake, draw was a trick play. I think the hope was KCs defense would be laughing so hard it might work.

The dude needs to be gone this week. He is horrible. The only time we moved the ball yesterday was when Ben was literally drawing plays in the dirt. He was calling everything on those scoring drives. His throws were on target and guys were getting open. Ben is not the problem. Canada and Tomlin allowing Canada to perpetuate this **** show are the problems. FIRE CANADA this week and get someone who knows a thing or two about NFL offenses, how to call plays, how to adjust and how to gameplan for your opponent. Canada has none of that and he proved it for 18 ******* weeks in a row. TERRIBLE!

Fire Canada this week............... **** he should have been left to find his own ride hoe last night. The sad thing is Canada isn't going anywhere until the root problem leaves.

Salute the nation

Relax, ' said the night man,
'We are programmed to receive.
You can check-out any time you like,
But you can never leave!'

So in the post game presser a reporter asked if he thought the early drops by the receivers hurt the teams chances (slight paraphrase) Tomlin did his bug eyed look and said "Do you think?".
I'd have said "follow up question Mike. You are 3 and 7 in the playoffs since your last SB appearance. Why are you still the head coach of this team?"

In his post game he was asked about the game plan going in. His response was game plans are irrelevant we just didn't execute. Translated our coaches hold no responsibility. It's only the players. If that is acceptable you really have to ask why?
Spot on. With this logic we do not need coaches. As long as we catch the ball, backyard football should work. He should be fired for this comment alone. Name a manager director of a company that could say. Not meeting results in their evaluation and just blame the employees. Could you imagine that. The response would be well what the **** do we need you here for? You job is to lead the team and get results.

I'm sure everyone has seen this stat by now, but this is the first time since 1967-71 that the Steelers have gone five years without a playoff victory. A lot will talk about Tomlin's "never had a losing record in the regular season." Who cares?

We don't win in the playoffs anymore. He started his career off 5-2 in the playoffs with two Super Bowl appearances in 4 years. Since then, Tomlin is 3-7 and his teams have allowed 42.75 PPG over their last four playoff games.

DK ripped Tomlin today and talked about his lazy internal hires. It's what we got with Fichtner, Canada, Sarrett, and Klemm. It's probably what we're going to get with Austin taking over for Butler if he actually retires. This team needs coaches from outside the organization. Legitimate offensive and defensive minds who won't do more of the same.

Even more spot on. The scary part is that I think because he so lacks schematic chops he truly believes that. Now maybe others don't like Romo. But when I watch him I can tell he knows exactly what is going on in the game. He totally understands the chess moves. Does anyone here seriously believe if you put Mike Tomlin in that booth he could do that?

Typical Tomlin response, deflect any blame away from himself. I'm not sure why everyone continues to bash the coordinators here, they are and have been nothing but yes men for awhile now under Tomlin, we've been watching our ILB's getting torched by WR's going back at least 10 seasons when Timmons was chasing Welker around, and that's when LeBeau was here, now it's Butler but it's the same defense, this defense has looked like a Tampa 2 more than a LeBeau defense for awhile now.
The offense has been running these WR screens, quick short throws since Arians left, it's not just a Haley, Fichtner, Canada thing. The year Ben missed with the elbow, that offense was all quick short stuff mostly.

No losing seasons is a great accomplishment, Tomlin will be in the HOF one day, he's the guy I wanted when it as down to him, Whiz, and Grimm, but I'm thinking his time as passed. We've given up 35+points in 4 straight playoff games, that's an NFL record, he has zero ability to make adjustments or he just doesn't want to. There's no point calling our the coordinators, all Tomlin wants are yes men, guys that won't out shine him or challenge him.

Another thing about Canada's offense is any Joe Blow can run it. There is nothing to throwing passes behind or at the LOS. Canada completely removed the hurry-up/no-huddle. That article a couple of months ago with former players weighing in was priceless showing how bad it truly was with Canada. Without Ben this year, we maybe win 4 or 5 games, if that. My guess is we would have actually been fighting for the No. 1 pick in the draft.

This team always has a scapegoat to cover for the real fix that is needed.

Right now the biggest problem is lack of talent. What returning starters is at least an average starter?

Offense: Harris, Freiermuth, Johnson. I feel like it's a stretch to put Claypool on here right now.

Defense: Heyward (Tuitt and Alualu if healthy and in the lineup), Watt, Highsmith, Schobert, Fitzpatrick

That is 8 of 22 starters (10 if you count Tuitt and Alualu). That number can jump to 10 (or 12) if they retain Edmunds and Witherspoon.
