FordFairLane’s 2022 BigBoard

so would Davis be a pick at a need position? seems to fill the run stuffer / keep blockers off the LB role

We need a lot. Out OT's are below average an not rehash the Chucks thing, but cap management is an isssue unless you are akay with Chucks getting 10 million a season. We need a center. The guy we signed is an upgrade from Green but below an average NFL player. At least that's what his contract value as a free agent and 3rd party ratings say. We need a WR when you consider what it will take to re-sign Johnson. Let him walk for the amount he's seeking and pick up a 3rd round comp pick. Thanks to Bush not being able to cover or shed blockers, we need ILB. I want Devin Lloyd as a cover, blitz, and run defense player if he's there. He checks a lot of boxes and produced well. We need a cornerback with starting ability and could need safety too. Of course, QB is a primary need unless you are sold on Tubisky. Yeah, we need a nose tackle, too, and Tuitt back if he's interested. We also need a punter, but the need is so low, I'll settle for a good rookie free agent or the other guy who subbed in for him. He did better.

But you're right a run stuffer is a need. Tuitt can you show us a sign, pretty please.

You want to talk football but yet you are incapable of learning anything. Chukes will not be getting ten a year this season. You knock getting a RT with Chukes being resigned yet you want to get an ILBer with the cabinet being full.

Can't make this ludicrous crap up.

I didn't ask you to rehash the Steelers needs

in your post you seemed to be disagreeing with taking Davis but listed his position as a need....

now I understand you just don't know who anyone is or who their college coach was.

What I don't understand with the offensive line is they seem to want to shift to a power ground game. Why else would you draft Najee Harris in the first round? Daniels was a good signing and Cole is a better run blocker than pass protector. Okorafor is bad in run blocking and probably below average in pass protection. I'm not concerned what his pay is, there just wasn't a point to re-signing him because he doesn't bring anything to the table they need. It was simply a case of them re-signing a guy who played in the system and is young. They're banking on him getting better.

I took it he was like you said familiar. They knew what they have and think he will improve. Perhaps they saw him like Bud as raw and knew it would take time to develop. That and the pantry wasn't stocked at the position in free agency. So they attacked Najee's strength inside running and thinking Chukes will do ok at pass blocking. Team had so many needs they were trying to upgrade while keeping the Oline from bleeding on the outside. Also with their free agency plan I think they were trying to approach it this year without kicking the can with restructures. Or at least minimize it.

I still think the overall approach to rebuilding the offensive line was poor. They didn't invest enough high-level prospects in last year's draft and they really only added one premium piece to this unit. We are still going to enter the season hoping some of these guys improve. Just not a great plan for a team transitioning to a new QB and in the need of leaning on a strong running game.

My point was we have a lot of needs. I mixed up SEC coaches, a slip. Okay my point is he won the championship, don't you think he knows best how use him? DT/NT is one of many needs, AND he needs to be a functional 4 down player, not a guy who doesn't play on obvious passing downs.

Thanks.

Banking on him getting better? He'd played enough games and has likely hit his peak or very close to it. I agree with you he's below average as a run blocker and below average as a pass blocker. I'm concerned with his pay. You should be too as giving a player like this a 30 million dollar contract prevents you for signing others.

The OL needs to be upgraded.

You know it is not fully guaranteed right? You do know how it is structured right? If so why are you talking about 30M, if not why are you talking without even checking out first?

Very few deals muli year deals are fully guaranteed. Your point?

Take X. Howard for example a player I wanted to draft over Burns. He got a 5 year 90M contract, but only 33.6 million is guaranteed.

Chucks is not getting much better now. He and the rest of the line was sparred giving up sacks simply becuse we threw it short often and Ben had to get rid of the ball quickly. We had a jack crap offense and he did not push his man much for the run. If Ben held the ball longer, he'd be more exposed and give up more sacks.

If we cut Cucks next year, we lose 6.19 Million in cap space. He's not going anywhere. I think he's not the type of player you give a large muti-year contract to when you're rebuilding.

Last year he had 11 flags called.

That if chuks doesn't elevate his game to that starter level he won't ever see anywhere close to those 30M. If you don't get my point I think I'm wasting my time here.

You can't ever make a conversation without trying to pat yourself on the back, can you? Who gives a rats *** who you wanted? What does that have anything to do with Chucks?
You wanted Howard ahead of burned ? Guess what, half of the board or probably more did too. You are not alone in a pedestal dude.

Let's be clear on something, I'm not defending chuks level of play or his contract, I wasn't happy either but you have to take circumstances into consideration:
1.according to sources he had another team's offer for a similar contract
2. The market for tackles was bare this free agency. Collins wasn't available until after he was signed for example.
3. We don't know if those few that hit the market wanted to come here and the Offensive mess we have with lack of coaching talent in that side of the ball, it takes two to tango.
4.chuks is serviceable, I'd call him above average in pass pro and below average in the run game. He has improved every season here and still is 24 years old. To compare Devonte Wyatt is coming out of college this draft with the same age. So of course he can improve and Become worthy of that contract.

You can bet your luxury vehicle that if he stinks the joint he will be cut. **** those 6M in dead cap when you compare them to 20M more given to a subpar player. Next season the team will have way more cap due to Ben's dead money going away and the ever growing cap.

So, there you have it, that's my take on the situation with chuks contract

He has been explained this over and over again. Dingleberry will just keep clinging to that *** with his same window licking viewpoint. Seriously I never met anyone so incapable of comprehending anything.

For every one thing he points out there is twenty draft wants of his that failed miserably.

I look forward to the next Chukes convo that he is worried about how much he makes.

😅

I can almost guarantee you that whomever we pick with our 1st round selection is most assuredly not going to be playing special teams.

Just another "Slip" on his part. What a maroon!

As I have said many times before he is the worst GM wannabe I have ever seen. His opinion is more than often a train wreck of "slips". If you are ever curious what Walter football says on a prospect just ask the dingleberry his opinion.

Dream on. May times my picks are better than the steelers. Yours are invisible. Steak a claim sometime.

Oh my... why does it still surprises me?
