FordFairLane’s 2022 BigBoard

Early on people were calling Linderbaum top 5 worthy, which is crazy for a center… i could back him as a first rounder, but id rather have the k green in this draft as our next stud guard and swing tackle in a pinch
Highest Run-Blocking Grade by P5 OL since 2020:

1. Tyler Linderbaum - 97.4
2. Ikem Ekwonu - 95.6 https://t.co/XXSYN1Fh99

I’ve stated my concerns about Linderbaum before but they were confirmed at the combine. Way WAY undersized center with T-rex arms. Didn’t test which is always a bit of a red flag. I can understand if you skip out on a couple of workouts but as a competitor you’d think he’d at least do the ones he knew he would perform well in. My fear is he knows he wouldn’t perform well because he’s topped out athletically. Zion on the other hand did everything. He’s firmly ahead of Linderbaum at this point.

I saw another report that his measurables moved him back significantly. The arm reach issue is a killer for a center.

Zion had good tape and backed it up with great workouts. He feels like a guy who would develop into a vocal leader in the locker room. He's pretty high on my list of potential options for the Steelers at 1.20.

For the amount of times the Steelers supposedly talked to him he could very well be number 1 on their list. Provided better value isn't sitting there.

I think the guy is a safe prospect as in low bust potential.

Very true. Guard is also relatively low on the position hierarchy. Free agency will be interesting considering the Steelers with be without a QB, RG, RT, CB1, CB2, SS, WR3 pending on who they sign/re-sign. Then they could use an upgrade at any of the 5 OL positions, ILB, and IDL. We'll also find out if they want to extend Johnson on a long-term deal otherwise a Day 1 or 2 WR will be on the horizon. They arguably need one regardless given the lack of depth at the position. It's going to be very hard to pin down the direction the Steelers will go.

Personally, I feel if a top tackle is there like Trevor Penning you go get him and kick Moore inside to guard. JC showed enough to at least ease my mind about the need at center. And we could always go back day three and get some competition with JC and Green. Alec Lindstrom and Luke Fortner are guys that should be around in round 4. Both I’d feel comfortable with competing for a starting job.

Sievenauer is a FA
Green is the C going forward. period.

Halfnhour is a exclusive rights FA, big difference, and he will cost practically nothing
cost is what he was worth until late last season

They now have 4 guys who can play center, you can cross off any thought of drafting one.

I’m going through QB and RB tape. Let me know if there’s a specific player you want me to watch. If you want my detailed opinion on a player on the board just ask and I’ll be happy to go into details. As always the nation is welcome to use my board on the site.
The Damarian Williams CB in the 5th round, is that really Damarion Williams or is there another guy

I think you have Logan Hall a bit low but who knows. Marcus is about right. if he lasts until the 4th he would be a steal there

He is a bit undersized at 280 but he has the frame to add another 15-20 lbs and stay as athletic as he is.

yeah the mocks have him all over the place...from the 1st to the 3rd

just depends on each teams needs and how they see him fitting in

Typo. Fixed it. Thanks for the catch. I type this all in manually so there’s lots of errors I’m sure I miss lol

He’s actually growing on me. I watched the Grambling and Navy games and he did not impress at all. But I just watched the Tulane game and he was much more complete. I don’t think I’ll have him as high as Payton Turner but if I see a couple of more games like Tulane he will rise.

I just wanted to make sure. I like the kid but thought saying he might be a 5th rounder was just looking through my UH glasses.

I think he could play safety some also on the next level

Yeah I don't think he is as good as Peyton, and I was a bit surprised he went in the 1st but the saints fell in love with him

The same could happen to Logan but I still see him as a 2nd rounder

Ford, do you have a ranking of your players yet? Curious to see your thoughts on stacking a draft board with who'd you take at 20.

It’s a moving target. I’d say it’s 95%+ complete. But I’m still watching film and updating. I saw the DL from Michigan is hurt so I’ll be updating that when I find out the severity and success of the surgery.

I did just do an updated post combine mock on the site. I took Jordan Davis but if I had to guess they take Devonte Wyatt. It all depends on who is there at 20 or if we move up or down

Did you see the news on that? He was down injured when one coach walks past him and picks up a close by football? Bucky Brooks was talking about the lack of empathy involved..

Yeah, I just saw that on Twitter. Coaches, scouts, medical personnel just nonchalantly walking around. Not a good look for Michigan for sure. Sounds like it’s a popped Achilles. 6-9 months. I had him as a fringe first so this likely drops him in that third round range. Hopefully the kid can make a quick and full recovery.

It's worth noting Pickett/Strong (Monday), Wills (Tuesday), Corral (Wednesday), and Ridder (Thursday) all have pro days this week. According to Poni, Colbert and Tomlin are both scheduled to be in attendance at Pitt's pro day. We'll see about the rest of the week. I think you can pretty much rule out any QB where these guys aren't in attendance.
