Game Balls, Game Goats & FU's....................@ Clowns

I don't know when they changed the rule, but once upon a time a personal foul trumped a lesser penalty. Green's holding penalty completely negated the blatant late hit out of bounds personal foul. Penalties offset, replay the down. I thought both fouls should have been penalized... walk off the 10 yards for the hold on Green, then 15 and an automatic first down for the late hit.

What's to stop anyone from putting a Theisman hit on a QB once he's been blatantly held? Hell, the whole team could do it! It would just be offsetting penalties, right?
****, the officials have no clue what the rules are or how to use them. The inconsistency from week to week, game to game and call to call is nuts. The NFL really needs to finally do something about it.

FU Officials. 2 defensive holding calls, both on D Linemen... No secondary calls for PI and Holding when we had Brownies draped on our players. Kudos to Claypool and Muth's TD catch earning an And-1 that wasn't called with the early constant contact.

DJ with a game ball. Dude is money on timing routes and that slant was a thing of beauty right when we needed it.

Tomlin deserves the ire for the special teams TD, but he also deserves Kudos for having this team ready to play in Cleveland after a bye. This team is improving and we won the game on both lines of scrimmage. We beat the Browns at doing what they do best: Running the football, stopping the run, and pressuring the QB. Statement win!

Also big game ball to Canada. This was his best game. Great mix of inside and edge runs. Getting the WRs involved to keep the D off balance. Nice end arounds and even a Reverse!!

The flags were just inconsistent. On one play, I think it was Clevelands final drive, someone gave Mayfield a shove really late. It was just a little shove, but certainly not needed or necessary. They also didn't call hitting baker OB which was close. The one where Romo was like oooh that's a vicious shot i didn't see anything. I don't think the officials are necessarily against the Steelers just bad at their jobs in general. Other games had terrible calls or no calls as well. The worst was the no call on Boz. It was late and a head shot. Really no excuse for that one.

yeah they hit baker on the sideline but he was still inbounds so it was legal, still surprised no flag was thrown

DJ was mugged all day though with no PI calls

It’s exactly why it should be reworked in the rulebook.

One of the impressive things yesterday was the confidence to call the run on 3rd down and pick up the first down. Even did it on 3rd and 5. We wouldn't have done that earlier in the year and teams will have to respect that down the road.

It was one of the more impressive runs and blocks of the game.

Some ****** calls by the refs for sure. Questionable play calling by Tomlin. We ran down field, got into goal to go and instead of continuing to run, we pass, pass, run, fake FG. We are very fortunate they dropped some catchable balls and we didn't lose because the coach got Boz killed.

In what might be Big Ben's last appearance at that shithole, it was great to see him come out with a huge win. Thank you Ben.

Right? I've been saying it for years...a personal foul should NEVER be offset.

He could have had that thing cinched up as tight as it will go and it still would have popped loose from the helmet to the chin he took.
The hit wasn’t that bad as Boswell was moving away from the defender, the shove was more egregious. The helmet didn’t come partially off until Boswell hit the back of his head on the ground. Can’t help but suspect that that was the concussion, not the hit.

I think you need to watch the clip again. The DE lowers his head, and initiates first contact with the crown of his helmet right to Boz chin. His helmet is half off his head the second he gets hit.

TJ, keeps up his play, he better get League DPOY.
Don't hold your breath...

That's true. Normally this team does NOT do well after the bye week. Credit for that, Mr. Tomlin.

And to also be fair he tied Bill's games won I believe. Someone can correct me if I am wrong.

Honestly, I don't look at that as nearly the accomplishment lots of folks may. He's had one of the best QBs ever to play the game his ENTIRE career and he's had a few standout defensive players left over that helped him continue a decent core.

Cowher had some great defensive players too, but quite a few of those guys developed. I don't see a whole lot in development from the current coaching program. Not being a dick, just calling it as I see it.

I like to be fair and not just throw out my dislikes. I understand where you are coming from though.

I think the lack of development people are seeing is simply refusing to acknowledge the development that has happened. We've had some great players on both offense and defense during Tomlin's tenure, and he never gets credit for them. Any time we have a great talent, it's always in spite of Tomlin and never because of Tomlin.

I'll just list players CURRENTLY on the team that have developed under Tomlin:
Watt
Heyward
Tuitt
Highsmith (currently ahead of Dupree's development)
Sutton
Alualu (went from a failed first round to a HUGE contributor on our team)
Juju
Johnson
Gentry
the entire OL that continues to get better every game
Claypool (continues to improve and learn)

and this doesn't even take into consideration of players like AB, Dupree, Sanders, etc...

Ya. I give credit for a bunch of those. Not all, but a bunch.
Fair enough. I don't need to be dismissive of Coach T. for the sake of being dismissive. And, while Tomlin had Ben, Cowher had Troy, Aaron Smith, Big Snack etc.
Fair enough.

I'm appalled but not surprised...

ONE playoff win in 11 years against a starting QB is all you need to know about Tomlin's coaching ability and skill at developing talent. No one in NFL history has done less with more.

Sean Payton had Drew Brees his entire coaching tenure until this year. Made one superbowl, finished 7-9 FOUR times, and 8-8 once.

Mike McCarthy had Brett Favre and Aaron Rodgers his entire time in GB, one superbowl.

Lets not forget about all of those talented teams they had in SD and never could do squat with them.

This assumption that just because you have a franchise QB, that you MUST win is just asinine. There's much more involved than just having a franchise QB.

One playoff win in 11 years against starting QBs supercedes useless regular season non losing seasons bullshit. Tomlin has become irrelevant in the playoffs something Payton has never become.
Super Bowl LMFAO. We get blown out in playoff games when we are lucky enough to even get there under this idiot.
