Triggered Lloyd? This blanket statement of Tomlin sucks at clock management is flat out wrong. Did you see the clock management by the JETS? They were using Timeouts for us. Twice in fact when they didn't have to in situations that benefited us. But you'd rather troll and call names than provide football acumen, so it's nice to see you haven't changed since I've been gone.

You missed a lot of KP's wins in 2min drill. This team correctly practices the 2min drill like it's the most important thing to run on O, and it shows. Our team HAS been terrible at engineering TDs, yet we still win. Wonder why that is? Keeping TOs to a minimum and excellent clock management. That's coaching my friend.

I love how haters want to call him a terrible clock manager with ZERO examples. Sure he's not 100% perfect, but he's one of the best I've ever seen at situational football. It's why the Steelers are the top team at winning 1 score games over the past decade, and that included an aging Ben, KP, Trubisky, Duck, Rudolph, Wilson, Fields, and now Rogers. So either Tomlin is the luckiest coach ever in NFL history, or maybe, just maybe he knows what he's doing to win us close games?

How is that great "situational football", for one example from the last minute of the first half of the last game?

Meh....Tomlin sucks. Clock management is questionable a lot of the time. Seems like that for all HCs though.

That said..here is to another Tomlinship!!!!!! Only 8 more wins to go.🙂

I did get a chuckle in another thread where they had a link to a Ravens MB thread....they were saying the same thing we say about Tomlin about Harbo. Go figure.

their ideals for players are not remotely realistic
A lot of star wrs have attitude issues, frequent drops, and issues with blocking ... qbs overthrow guys... defensive guys get beat... we may be spoiled a bit... people want every position filled with a HOF player abd all the backups to be all pros... and even then their expectations can be high🤣
 
TJ doesn't deserve any designation, good or bad. He was just meh. Again. 5 straight games without a sack. I'm starting to think that we signed a $15-20M edge rusher to a $40M contract.

Is anyone really surprised that 80% of the Steelers came out looking flat on opening day?
Other than an occasional snap or two, none of the starters played any meaningful time in preseason, it's what CMT does, so I would expect better play next Sunday against Seattle.

They should have lost this game but found a way to win.

Defense was better in the second half than the first. Adjustments were made. Nothing earth shattering but this narrative is frankly ridiculous. We can argue about the effectiveness of the adjustments made and sometimes they are subtle changes that the average fan may not see, like shifting the gap assignments or d line alignments. Shifting responsibilities in the secondary. In the end we came back and won and the defense stepped up enough. It has to get better and I believe it will.

The hell you say. He played pretty damn well and despite the scorekeepers shenanigans he did have a sack. He absolutely crushed Fields in the second half, not his fault they ruled it a run play despite the fact he had even moved a step yet. Faked to the RB then got just demolished by TJ.

Talk about winning and not deserving too how about the Bungles, 7 yards of offense in the second half and still won by 1 against the Clowns.

Isn't that the play Fields actually gave the ball to the RB? Maybe I am thinking of a different play that Watt crushed Fields.

ALL of that. Everyone in my living room knew what was coming. He wasted a time out; they still ran the play everyone knew they were running. The last offensive drive, you are in good FG range because you have Boswell. While I appreciate aggressiveness in play calling sometimes, that time wasn't it. They have two TOs left, if he runs the ball, at least once they either burn a time out or two or they let the clock wind down. He's the worst situational game coach I know of. A W is a W, but the idea that Mike Tomlin is some great game day coach is laughable. The standard is the standard......................Thank goodness no reason for a challenge yesterday...........

Playing from behind for most of the game, needing Boz from 60 yards out and a Slay crushing hit to end the game.
It wasn't looking good until then.

But they weren't playing from.behind most of the game. The Jets played from.behind just as much and had all the turnovers. I dont get what youre saying that the steelers should have lost. You play mistake free you should win.

Awe, you're one of those, we shouldn't have opinions that aren't kool aid variety when it comes to how the team plays. Get out of here with that weak ****. That was a game where a lot of key players didn't play well. They won the game, which is more than they've done in recent years. The OL and defense play better going forward, then it was just an early season lackluster performance. Make no mistake, they can't play like that against playoff teams and have the same result. A W is a W, but you can win a game and recognize issues.

There's a difference between recognizing issues idiot and saying a team didnt deserve to win the game. Yes they had issues but Jets had just as many issues. That's why they lost the game and the Steelers didn't. Whats so hard to understand about that?? Tell me what team didnt see issues with how they played??

Meh....Getting the football ran down our throat isn't a good sign considering how we ended the years last season.

..and i think Fields, Hall and Allen are going to end up being one of the most lethal backfields in the league this year especially if Fields continues to play like he did yesterday. There's no way they dont end up being top 5 rushing if yesterday is a sign.

Rather the have issues now and have time to fix them, than having them appear late in the season like last year. WE will have growing pains on both lines for a while. Particularly until Black gets comfortable and Harmon gets back and comfortable. Then Cam can play less and be fresher and Loudermilk can stay off the field. Hopefully move Benton out to end more with Black in. Wilson and Queen need those guys to eat up blocks.

Unless they play teams better at stopping the run than the Steelers who've been gashed since last season (remember the Rats running for 299?).

The Bills looked bad yesterday vs Henry and Lamar, but the Steeler DL got embarrassed by Hall and Fields.
Yesterday was a sign, again, that most of the NFL has better run D than the Steelers.

Fields keeps it for a naked bootleg. TD. Every one of Tomlins defenders took the bait. Even Tomlin was leaning. Rooney dropped his prune juice.

Thay faked out Tomlin big time.
