Game Balls, Game Goats & FU's........week 15.................@Philthy

I will say our record is way more than any of us thought so I give credit for that. We are not as good on defense as stats show, our line is weak and young last night showed that.
Game balls...Watt gives his all with no respect from officialting crews. Muth made a great catch for TD, specoal teams .

Goat.. Defense secondary...poor tackling. stand and wait attitude, cant cover in zone, still believe Portyer plays the role but more credit than deserves..will not hit anyone.
Coaching for sure.
FU to offficals that have shown on videos they become killers to this team and not accountable. The video on Washington tells it all

I think there already was a hole, or do you think drops dj would have helped the team with his ****** attitude and complete disregard for team work? I think he didn't fix the hole properly, not that he created it.
Considering DJ (with KP) had as many yards as Austin, Miller, Jefferson combined, I'd say you don't know what you are looking at.

An FU from me to Moore. He is a turnstile. I can't wait until he is gone next year.
I've been complaining about him for 4 years and nothing has changed. But Tomlin thinks he is great. And the Tomlin lovers just agree with his stupidity.

He is not. He has built himself into a solid player...not great, but solid. You are seeing the problems the Steelers have on offense. They lack a #2, and their #1 was out. Who do you fear in the passing game now? They have to move on from Najee, not because he fumbled, but other teams don't fear him. If he does break out a bit, chances are he isn't going to take it to the house. Both of these two things make the job of the OL harder. They were in 3rd and longs yesterday, and without any weapon on offense to really fear, they could just rush.

Again, no where have I said Moore is great. He is a solid player though and you can win with him. I notice when they win, no one is griping about Moore. They lose though, and the hair people have in their a$$ over Moore flares up. Moore didn't play well yesterday, but he was not the only one, nor the most glaring one.

Not a make-or-break deal with the loss coming against an NFC opponent, but listening to asswipe Eagles fans around here is annoying.

The deficiencies at wide receiver without Pickens are glaring. Just the threat of his big play-making ability down the field is crucial to this offense. Depth at the position has been an issue all year, and it's magnified exponentially when George is out.

This is a defense that makes its hay with huge plays. Not being able to convert those two fumbles into much of anything crippled any chance the Steelers had to win the game. Seems like the offense comes out lethargically a lot. Good opponents take advantage of that.

I keep hearing talking heads saying that the Ravens game is all that matters for the Steelers, and the Eagles' game was of little importance, and all they have to do is win next week, etc. And while some of that is certainly true, what if they lose that game on Saturday? Then beating Philadelphia sure would have meant something. If they continue to play like they did yesterday, Baltimore is going to win the division. Easily.

I'm in the same boat as @Badcat .

We had 3 starters out and while the coaching was not good. Execution was just as bad and the refs slanted the game from the jump.

On to the next...
And this is when Coaching matters the most. Coaching **** the bed today. No way around it. Now the question is next week. What will our coaches come with for the Ravens? Same old same old?

Why? What would have you done differently? The Eagles are better right now.

You act like these players are just clay and you can mold them to victory regardless of the difference in talent. What player on the Steeler offense that was out there yesterday, especially at the skill positions, would you take over an Eagle starter?

The Steelers are getting there, though. I agree with someone else who said they seem about a year away.

The Eagles are probably better, but we could have done alot of things differently especially on offense. Our oline was overwhelmed, but we continued to run on first. Needed more screens / slants to make the big guys pursue. I'm not sure about defense. We kept Barkley in check while he was in there, but we couldn't cover their WRs. Maybe more blitzes or pressure man, but we also couldn't tackle which didn't help

You complain about everything. Most of the time you are full of shiit.
Go **** yourself, you are oblivious to the facts and go on incessantly in your Tomlin denial. It's pathetic. This just in: Tomlin is clueless, he is below average intelligence. He illustrated it many times just yesterday. How many 1st downs did he even have in the 1st half? Just moronic.

I don't disagree, I just think they are limited without big play threats when GP is in there, let alone when he isn't. They have to get more explosive at RB.

The first sack of the game was 100% on him. Wilson didn't stay in the pocket too long. The DL ran right around Moore with Moore barely laying a finger on him. That was all I needed to see once again from him. He is average at best. Let someone else overpay for him next year and we can move Jones back to his normal position so he can get back in his comfort zone instead of learning to play RT.

He played? Who is the moron?

Again, no Tomlin denial. We just don't blame for everything ill under the sun.

And that's fine. I want to see the young guys play and grow too, because the potential is there for this line to be special. Moore isn't special. But I really don't think he'd crack the top 5 of problems yesterday.

You have been complaining about him for 4 years? As who? Coach, or Bob, or Greg Lloyd or what it is now? We can’t keep up with your multiple aliases.

You complain about everything. Most of the time you are full of shiit.

Nope, he’s full of **** ALL the time, and is a closet Patriot/Marcia Brady fan.

Well on offense... running on 1st down on every single play I probably would mix that up some. So whatever our first 20 to 30 scripted plays are....throw them out the window. They suck. I would USE the middle of the field on offense. Early and often.

Defense I would blitz a bit more. Mix it up when doing so. Us rushing 4 and dropping everyone into a zone has been killing us.

We are now basically playing playoff caliber teams from here on out. If we don't get better when they do arrive we will be one and done.

To run the exact stuff we have been doing over the last 5 or 6 seasons and expecting different results is crazy. I believe we have talent on our team. Coaches have to put them in a better position to succeed.

The Eagles offensive and defensive schemes are night and day to the Steelers. I 100% believe you could swap out Eagle starters with Steeler starters and they would succeed.
Hell. Our LG did succeed with the Eagles when he played for them.

Wilson has always been limited going over the middle. Idk why, height? but it's always been an issue. Williamson talks about it all the time. So while I agree with throwing over the middle more, I don't know if you are gonna see it as much with him at QB.

I just think the Eagles are better right now. I think the Steelers are talented, but not to the Eagles level...yet, and that's the difference.

I think our offensive and defensive schemes are limiting what our team is capable of doing. In a 17 game season it will get you to where you want to be....the playoffs. When you start playing the best teams though it puts us at a disadvantage. History has shown us this. Not me talking out my ***. We have had all but a decade of proof. Yet nothing really changes.

iron sharpens iron.

the steelers played a Super Bowl contender and their weaknesses exposed. believe it or not, this is a good thing.

the Steelers need to get into the lab and develop schemes on both sides of the ball to mask their deficiencies, especially at WR. The Eagles attacked the Steelers strong side early, Brady pointed that out, and Russ only looked back side twice and hit CAIII both times for nice gains. Apparently, the Eagles noticed that Wilson has a low look rate at backside coverage and went ISO all game.

The Steelers will grow from this.
One way to correct the deficiencies at WR would be to quit with the charade that Van Jefferson needs snaps, dude should be a WR4 and only see that amount of snaps.

Another weakness is Mike curling up in his tortoise shell, I don’t think he’s gonna forget to curl any time soon…we know he won’t come playoff time, it’s what he does.

JPJ is another deficiency. When he’s covering he’s cheating, if he ain’t cheating he ain’t covering…and he’s never tryna tackle. Dude has little will or want to stick his nose in there. Reminds me of Deion…only with his tackling tho.

Too many deficiencies to give them all their due justice.

At least we have Boz…the one consistent guy on offense, and TJ when he’s healthy again will be another to hang our hat on.

This team is looking very much like the Groundhog Day 1 and done Steelers the way they are looking unless some guys heal up quickly.

Hopefully they get the Rats in the playoffs, cuz then there is a puncher’s chance for at least one damn playoff victory.

even Boz had a scare with that Doink!

At least when GP is in there they have 1 big play threat. Gotta start somewhere
