Game plans go to **** every week. KC is good and very lucky. They've won more close games this season than I can ever remember. Their luck has nothing to do with coaching. And this is when Coaching matters the most. Coaching **** the bed today. No way around it. Now the question is next week. What will our coaches come with for the Ravens? Same old same old?
The eagles just spanked AFCN. No one keeps Barkley in check. There are better teams, better players this seasonThe Eagles are probably better, but we could have done alot of things differently especially on offense. Our oline was overwhelmed, but we continued to run on first. Needed more screens / slants to make the big guys pursue. I'm not sure about defense. We kept Barkley in check while he was in there, but we couldn't cover their WRs. Maybe more blitzes or pressure man, but we also couldn't tackle which didn't help
I don't know how Wilson is not on the goats list. 1 lost fumble, that sack that took us out of FG range 126 yards passing. but for me I just do not understand how a QB of his caliber takes that sack. if that would have been Ben this board would have lost their minds.Game balls:
Watt
Special Teams keep making plays and Boz is Boz
Muth?
Goats:
Coaching
Defense
Najee + Oline
FU:
Referees, go **** yourselves for tilting the field
That is it....DO NOTHING DIFFERENTLY and expect a different result.Game plans go to **** every week. KC is good and very lucky. They've won more close games this season than I can ever remember. Their luck has nothing to do with coaching.
Philly was the better team and the Steelers are not there yet. Better OL. Better WRs. Better complimentary RBs.
Coaching can assist but it can't prevent both of our OTs to be better. Note, Philly's OTs could play on an island most of the night. Not ours.
Their defensive scheme took away the short and mid range passes early. Both of their DTs are monsters.
I'd love to hear what all the complainers sold have done differently...
Whole offense should be honestly except muth and ca3I don't know how Wilson is not on the goats list. 1 lost fumble, that sack that took us out of FG range 126 yards passing. but for me I just do not understand how a QB of his caliber takes that sack. if that would have been Ben this board would have lost their minds.
They were the better team down 5 starters in their house. Put them in the Burgh or on a neutral site with all of the starters returned, I would like our chances.Game plans go to **** every week. It's not like he could anyway.Tomlin is on record saying it is not the coaches responsibility to “coach up” professional players.
You have been complaining about him under different names on a message board for years and are surprised that change has not been made. Thst is hilarious. TyI've been complaining about him for 4 years and nothing has changed. But Tomlin thinks he is great. And the Tomlin lovers just agree with his stupidity.
Those are good points. I think Tomlin plays it the way he does for some valid reasons, though. The defense, ever since Cowher began it, is dependent on not playing tons of snaps, so it can make big plays. You need to establish the run and hold the ball. I don't completely agree with that, but I see why he does it. With the limits they have on offense, unless they are playing the Bengals, throwing the ball all around and having big plays happen the other way leaves them with little to no chance to win. The chance of that increases when you take more risks. Again, I don't completely agree, but I can see why he does it. The truth is, it has worked for him since Ben left for the most part. They have been in contention and made the playoffs. I agree though this style has gotten them beat pretty soundly in the playoffs.I think our offensive and defensive schemes are limiting what our team is capable of doing. In a 17 game season it will get you to where you want to be....the playoffs. When you start playing the best teams though it puts us at a disadvantage. History has shown us this. Not me talking out my ***. We have had all but a decade of proof. Yet nothing really changes.

"They have been in contention and made the playoffs" Are you being serious right now? They have been in contention and made the playoffs. I agree though this style has gotten them beat pretty soundly in the playoffs.
Yes, I am serious. They have been in contention and made the playoffs, have they not? I did not say contention for a championship, but have made the playoffs. That is step one. You have to get there. Now, if you read my post, I clearly said that I can see why he plays it the way he does...it has worked to get some teams to the playoffs or in contention for the playoffs that maybe didn't have the talent to be there. But I also said I don't necessarily agree with it."They have been in contention and made the playoffs" Are you being serious right now?

That's our last 4 playoff games. We lost giving up an average of 41.5 point. All losses. Those versions of "making the playoffs" don't give me much confidence. At least Cowher would win a few. That's 7 years without a playoff win, 4 losses in a row. Now, you can give me your bevy of excuses (like you usually do.)
Wilson should definitely be on the goats list.I don't know how Wilson is not on the goats list. 1 lost fumble, that sack that took us out of FG range 126 yards passing. but for me I just do not understand how a QB of his caliber takes that sack. if that would have been Ben this board would have lost their minds.
Coming into the game it wasn’t meaningless they needed a AFC loss to make the playoffs. Then there is an issue of seeding the better your seed the more home opportunities you get and your odds slightly increase in the playoffs.Wilson should definitely be on the goats list.
Faced a little pressure early and his feet got super happy, his internal clock was racing. He didn’t stay cool early and the entire offense suffered taking far too long to wake up…this was squarely on him and the OL. He did calm down a bit but took way too long for an old vet. Even after he calmed down he made some poor decisions and was largely ineffective. The falling out of the wizard’s Fg range was literally the one thing he couldn’t do. 126 yards, slow clap. This ain’t the line of tomato cans ya been playing Russ, time to step up your game or this team is going anywhere under your leadership.
Tomlin definitely gets a goat too for not employing the “take it as a bye week” and rest all key starters strategy that we both went into depth about last week. A meaningless game and we lose key starters out of this piss poor performance? Why risk anyone with that shyte game plan? Sure would’ve been nice to get healthier rather than lose guys like DJ and Watt
Limits on Offense are because of the offense we employ(Tomlin's choice). When Russ was brought in that was going to change everything. Or so I was told on here. Thing is....we still do the exact same thing play calling wise.....for the last 5 or 6 seasons. We play a very conservative offense to limit turnovers because Tomlin believes we have a top 5 defense. And again. This entire philosophy on both sides of the ball work on a 17 game schedule to get you into the playoffs(history has shown us this). When you start playing the better teams though ....well, we all have seen the results. They haven't been good. Those are good points. I think Tomlin plays it the way he does for some valid reasons, though. The defense, ever since Cowher began it, is dependent on not playing tons of snaps, so it can make big plays. It does remind me of the teams of the '90s. They'd get up against the best teams and their passing game limitations would get them. O'Donnell threw for 354 in the AFCC game in '94 against the Chargers but they only scored 13. I remember Bill Walsh breaking down the pass to Foster that was batted down and how the little nuances of the play were lacking that could have made it work...where Foster set up, he didn't move toward the ball a bit, O'Donnell delayed just a bit throwing it. Maybe Walsh was full of shiit, but it seemed to make sense.
You just listed 4 playoff appearances, so you answered your own question idiot."They have been in contention and made the playoffs" Are you being serious right now?

Again, I agree. But you have to get there. He doesn't have the QB to do what you want to do, and he really hasn't since 2018. Not with a post-injury Ben. Even with Russ. I like listening to Williamson, and he was not a huge fan of the Russell Wilson signing. Now, it has worked out for the most part, but Wilson isn't pre-injury Ben back there. Williamson has discussed Wilson's limitations in throwing over the middle of the field. He has also stated Russ is better when the running game works. He isn't a guy, at this point in his career, that is going to dominate with his arm. I think it has played out pretty much this way.Limits on Offense are because of the offense we employ(Tomlin's choice). When Russ was brought in that was going to change everything. It was about as meaningless as a game getsComing into the game it wasn’t meaningless they needed a AFC loss to make the playoffs. Then there is an issue of seeding the better your seed the more home opportunities you get and your odds slightly increase in the playoffs.
Plus there is the old try to get that blade sharpened to be able to handle all your playoff encounters.
No better team than the Eagles for that. There is no misgivings they know they weren’t good enough and need to improve. Some benefit to that.
The Dan Moore complaints are not shiit, as demonstrated by the Steelers last 2 first round picks. You complain about everything. Most of the time you are full of shiit.
He has been a solid player. He is serviceable. It's just a fact, regardless of how much you dislike the guy. I think the dislike for him has more to do with Tomlin, anyway, than Dan Moore. The thing is, I questioned the same thing at the beginning of the year. The Steelers have told us with their 1st rounders two years in a row they think they can do better. Well then, dammit, like you said, they should have started camp with Jones at left, and Fatanu at right. I agree with you. But that doesn't mean Moore has been a bad player. He is nothing special, but he is solid. I am hoping to see the possibility of special whenever Fatanu comes back, they put Jones where he belongs. The Dan Moore complaints are not shiit, as demonstrated by the Steelers last 2 first round picks.
That he had a few decent games earlier in the season does not make him a serviceable LT or excuse the bad coaching strategy to not use either Fantanu or Jones at LT from day 1.
One shorter leg Dan Moore needs to moved to the bench or his next team this offseason as his best efforts are not good enough for the Steelers to be a playoff winner.
And they knew that before the 2023 draft and the 2024 draft.
