Game Day Thread - Steelers vs. Ravens Part II

I agree Tape. The only way they advance is in a shoot out type game. Their Defense is not great.
 
The evolution of the Tomlin apologist, 2024 edition:

1. It’s ok we came out flat and lost to the browns, look at our regular season record!

2. It’s ok we got dominated by the Eagles the Ravens game is all that matters!

3. It’s ok we lost to the Ravens, all we half to do is beat the 1 loss Chiefs on short rest!

4. It’s ok to not win the division, just get healthy for the playoffs!

We have beat every current playoff team we have faced. Get healthier and we can beat anyone else. Rather see Harbaugh smiling now than in the playoffs. I want them in the first round to send their ***** home.
 
Clemson fought back and made it a game. Hope Tenn vs Ohio State is an entertaining game. I have a feeling it could be a snooze.

Scheme and coaching goes a long way when you have injuries. Every team has injuries this late in the season. This is when the x and o coaches shine. Scheme against weaknesses the other team may have. Simply not blinking will only take a team so far. Sounds good. Sure. End results might not be as good though.

It's like they see a teammate with the opp player in their grasp and they just give up on the play. I thought JP lost out on a fumble recovery last week when I saw him do it. Like stop staring and get to the ball!

Lamar got the TD passes, but Henry was the offensive star for the Ravens today.

No, they will start out down 7 because, they lost the coin toss, or went 3 & out to start.
To win, they will have to score at least 42 points, because the D will give up 40.

"Next man up" is another Tomlinism not based on reality. We don't have good backups on D and on O we have one wide receiver and a tight end. It is what it is.

Well their defense has been first in the league in every key stat since week 11

They are trending in the right direction

Certainly can’t say that about the Steelers

I don’t entirely disagree but sometimes it is as simple as the oblong ball bouncing the wrong way. We made plays to create fumbles but the bounces were favorable every time to the other team. Then Russ trying too hard makes a boneheaded throw and fumble. None of that is necessarily coaching. Not with a vet like Russ.

You keep saying that. Hopefully you are right. Players who are out and banged up though when they return probably still won't be 100%. Every team right now has injuries. Right now those play-off teams are beating us injuries aside. You see a glimmer of hope. I see the dame old same old for the last 6 or 7 plus years.

Do you see us making a deep run? Seriously....

They played the harder schedule early we got ours late. May be simple as that.
