Game Day Thread - Steelers vs. Ravens Part II

The evolution of the Tomlin apologist, 2024 edition:

1. It’s ok we came out flat and lost to the browns, look at our regular season record!

2. It’s ok we got dominated by the Eagles the Ravens game is all that matters!

3. It’s ok we lost to the Ravens, all we half to do is beat the 1 loss Chiefs on short rest!

4. It’s ok to not win the division, just get healthy for the playoffs!
The evolution, omfg, I'm done, lmao

They need to scheme Watt into situations where they know he will win.....or has a large probability that he will. Us rushing 4 straight ahead isn't helping him at all. And that seems to be our Defense most of the time.

That **** has run it's course.

Lamar broke his jinx vs the steelers. All it takes is for the steelers to be missing 75% of their secondary and TJ Watt playing hurt, and getting a pick 6 and fumbling 3 times and not losing any of them, and Russell Wilson fumbling inside the 5. But that's it.
Of course all it took for us to get that first win was Tucker missing two FG's. That's the way the ball bounces. I agree, we didn't play too bad until the outcome was already decided. I still have hope. We just need to get healthy. To me this felt like going into Buffalo last year without TJ.

No way that the score indicates how close this game was. About 60 years ago Vince Lombardi said that in most NFL games, the game is decided by one or two plays. In this game it was one play - the Wilson fumble. If he scores the Steelers win IMO.

It had to happen sooner or later Tape. Reminds me of when the Steelers had Joe Flaco’s number. It took him a bit to change it around a bit. It’s not like Lamar is a horrible QB. We will meet again soon.

With all the injuries and line issues, I’m starting to wonder if the Steelers will be able to beat the Bengals and end the season with five straight losses including one in the playoffs.

You keep saying that. Hopefully you are right. Players who are out and banged up though when they return probably still won't be 100%. Every team right now has injuries. Right now those play-off teams are beating us injuries aside. You see a glimmer of hope. I see the dame old same old for the last 6 or 7 plus years.

Do you see us making a deep run? Seriously....
Deep? Possibly but unlikely this year, but I do think we can beat any team in the playoffs if we aren’t as banged up as we are now. I think we are a year away from being a possibly dominate team. We need Troy F to be what we hope he is, another receiver and one more Corner for depth. Coupe that with more experience on a good young line.

Late. See you all on the 25th. Going to turn it to the college game now.
I hate to say it but I won’t watch that **** and waste time on it. I have seen this sh!t show for way too too long. You don’t win in the playoffs without momentum.

Will be my first purposely no watch in my 51 years of watching.

**** them for giving this sorry arse play.

I don’t find this enjoyable. It isn’t entertaining.

It is ******* embarrassing.

Tired of it….

So the defense would be able to stop the Ravens offense if Wilson does not fumble? And the pass protection is better if Wilson holds onto the ball?

Not likely. This team is a copy of the recent low-seed wildcard teams.

I think we win next week.

I would be interested in seeing Austin calling the D with ZERO Tomlin interference. Most likely it would be the same, but who knows.
Austin has always been garbage when it mattered most. That duo is clueless.

Yep. End of the game, Fox has some commercial for some medication called Ingrezza. Warning: Ingrezza may cause suicidal ideation.

So does watching the Steelers ...

Our D has been putrid the last 2 weeks against playoff caliber teams. Unfortunately our HC schematicly gameplans around the thought that he has a top 5 Defense. The sooner realizes that we don't have one and he adjusts his gameplan accordingly.....the better going forward. Question is...will he?

That has been the story of this game. Four fumbles by Baltimore. They recovered them all. Two critical mistakes by Russ. That's what made the difference in this game.
Well that and being forced to field a Tomlin defense

What does that say about he Steelers?
That we beat them once and lost once. No more no less. We recover the fumbles we forced and this is an entirely different game. Hell if we just don’t fumble on the 5 it is a different game. We fell apart late but we can beat this team.

Maybe I will try the new griddle this Wednesday I have some new acquired free time.

I hear you Slash! I’m so tired of the same **** every year.
Non losing seasons with a chance to make the playoffs only to get destroyed in the opening round is not the definition of success to me.
He’s not a bad coach it’s just time for a reset just like 1992 when Cowher replaced the legendary Noll.

I won’t be fooled again. I know I had low expectations which helped me this season but yeah enough is enough.
