Gameday Menu

I can't imagine that the Steelers/9er's game won't be nationally televised for most. I think the schedule comes out tomorrow.

Wings probably...Unable to watch the game from home, thanks Redskins....The sports bar would probably frown on my bringing a crockpot topped off with Steeler Chili. Maybe I could hide it under my jacket.

Just one whaffer thin mint?

Probably a dumb question but does it have a mechanism to load more/less pellets to maintain the temperature you are looking for?
Yeah, my smoker holds 35 pounds of pellets and there is an auger that loads the pellets as needed to maintain the temperature. They are so simple to use, and once you find your groove you’ll be making great bbq on the regular. It is easily one of the best purchases I have made in a while. I make my own jerky, smoke cheese on occasion, pork shoulders, ribs, brisket you name it. I love that thing. Money well spent.

I watch a ton of videos learning recipes and stuff like that. Over time, you’ll figure out what works for you, and your family will love it. When my kids come to visit, the first question is ALWAYS “What are you cooking dad?”

Also, a 40 pound bag of pellets is $12-$15. Lasts a while. Do it. You’ll thank yourself.
Unreal what a bag of charcoal costs nowadays.

I could see the advantages of such a thing.

Honey, I'm going to go out back and slave over the smoker for about 4 hours. I'm only going to have one, maybe two beers. No I'll be good...

That's me!

That's why cooking a pork shoulder/butt is so good. You need at least 2/3 beers

This is the way:

I've found the grills made today just don't last. I still have my Ducane grill from college days. Granted I've replaced the burners but the firebox is 30 some years old. What brand smoker is going to last the test of time?

Mine is three years old and is holding up well. It sits out on my patio with a cover on it. No issues. But I get your point. Nothing is built to last anymore.

The firebox on the Ducane likely wouldn't be a big seller on the showroom floor these days. It's cast aluminum and not stainless so she ain't pretty but it will probably last as long as parts are still available.

I’ll be smoking three racks of honey hot ribs. Probably do some bacon wrapped jalapeño poppers as an appetizer.

What time……… ?

Salute the nation
