Best way for corn on the cobb. Microwave.

You don’t even have to shuck it and there will be no silks left either. Just 3 to 4 mins in microwave depending on how powerful your microwave is. Put it in husk and all and it will steam itself in the husk. Then the key is to take a serrated knife and cut the bottom off. Not just the stalk but cut off the first row of actual corn . This cuts away all attachments of the silk and you just squeeze the corn out from the small end like a freeze pop. Make sure you wear an oven mitt or towel because corn will be too hot to touch.
I have done it that way. not for m. I like good old fashion boiling. 5 min. I grow my own sweet corn. I get the water boiling, then walk down to garden and pull what I need.
I can not tell you how much sweeter it is than store bought.

Corn immediately starts losing it's sweetness as soon as it's picked. That's why garden of farmer's market will always be better, because it was likely just picked within a day or so.

I'll take the microwave over boiling to avoid shucking the corn and to avoid heating up the house with a few quarts of boiling water in summer. The microwave does take some trial and error on the time because all microwaves are different and people like it done differently. It also makes a difference if you do multiple ears at the same time. But once you have the timing down, it's so easy. For my microwave, it's 1 ear for 3:30.

I'm not planning anything special for the game. I made a bunch of stuff for Labor Day. Made some Apple Bourbon pulled pork that came out great. What's great about that recipe is that it's not sauced. You can sauce it later if you want. But with it not having barbecue sauce in it, the leftovers are versatile.

It makes great carnitas for tacos or fajitas. You can also use it to make real pork and beans. Just saute some onions, pour in the can of baked beans with the juice, then add the pork. You can then add whatever herbs or spices to take it different directions. I threw in some cilantro and it was great.

Honey/mustard Chicken

I make food based on our opponents. San Fran this week doing Dungeness crab and making a batch of cioppino.
My first NFL game I went to was San Fran against the Cowboys for the NFC Championship 1992. I had heard how crazy tailgating before an NFL game can get. I had no idea what I was in for. We tailgated for hours before the game. What shocked me was the setups some of these people had. Some people had full barrels/drums of crab, with filtration systems to keep them fresh/alive. All the different foods. The full on bar selections in the parking lots. I was shocked...good times.
