Pull the membrane or not for ribs? I always pull it.

Easiest way for perfect ribs is pressure cooker then finish in oven or grill. Use whatever rub you like, then pressure Cook for about 20 minutes. Ribs will be juicy and fall off bone. Then you just sauce them and eat them like that or bake on the sauce in oven or grill. You can have ribs in an hour.

if you want true barbecue with the smoke ring, you need a smoker or grill but if you just want tender and saucy, then pressure cooker is the best way by far.
 
Best way for corn on the cobb. Microwave.

You don’t even have to shuck it and there will be no silks left either. Just 3 to 4 mins in microwave depending on how powerful your microwave is. Put it in husk and all and it will steam itself in the husk. Then the key is to take a serrated knife and cut the bottom off. Not just the stalk but cut off the first row of actual corn . This cuts away all attachments of the silk and you just squeeze the corn out from the small end like a freeze pop. Make sure you wear an oven mitt or towel because corn will be too hot to touch.

pressure cooking is not the same as boiling. It's more like steaming or braising.
