Good and bad about Tomlin

Tomlin’s philosophies are just out of date… he can’t get a staff together that develops guys well… we play beneath our talent level every year

Players get worse here, not better.
We live in our fears. We are overly predictable and we just refuse to adapt until things are out of control
Tomlin's philosophy has retired....

Seriously, Tomlin did great when he has more talent than the opposition and oddly enough, not every coach can bring an ultra-talented team together. That talent is gone now. They have one elite player, several very good ones, then a bunch of decent to below average players with bad coaching.

Yes… i think like a ton of coaches, Tomlin has a 2 to 4 year window to win with a new team because the turnaround as he is merging in his philosophies to the new team’s creates unique strategies that aren’t super predictable and easily countered…. Almost no head coach wins after five years with a team … its really rare actually

Without being facetious, I am not sure what Tomlin's strategies and philosophies are. Absent winning with a prebuilt team and squandering a lot of talent thereafter, outside of being a "players' coach" (whatever that means), I legit don't have any idea what he brings to the table. Without mentioning "players' coach," what are some examples of what Tomlin brings?

The guy isn’t paying much attention. Whose idea is it to have Warren as the RB2 and not RB1? Who overlooks boggled calls by the officials?

A cool demeanor and a mean pair of soon glasses

I look at what Pete Carroll does in Seattle. Everytime I count that team out he keeps them competitive. He is making fricken Geno Smith look good.

Yep. Mike Tomlin is Barry Switzer with tenure and a 10 cent vocabulary.
Thing is I still think he is a smart man in life. Just not as a X and O guy. Not as a decision maker on the football field. Not smart enough to get the right coordinators.

He had some moments. Just few and far between. Most of that is his failure to adjust which is the not so smart part of the man. Ego? Stubbornness? Off the field I could have imagine sitting at a table with him and be amused, entertained. Maybe even learning a thing or two.

Just on the field... not going to take fans where they wish to go. Just will leave fans more disappointed than happy.

Mr.Rooney wake up do what is best for the team.

The list of what I don't like about Tomlin is way too long. He's a mediocre coach who won with somebody else's talent and then was propped up later on by a hall of fame QB. The guy has no big game ability and the most jack *** stubbornness I've ever seen. This team will never be right until he is gone.

So as more people use lack of discipline and accountability to describe the rather talented but totally sucky Steelers locker room, it’s becoming more obvious that Tomlin is best suited to a veteran locker room not a younger team that needs to be taught up… like I said trade him to someone who needs a vet coach or to someone who needs a pr guy to draw attention

Tomlin said the ball was going where it was supposed to, but blamed the D for not keeping a lid on it. I was pretty confident Canada would be fired, but hearing tomlins presser and the refusal to acknowledge the offensive scheme is worrisome

Who would trade for Tomlin? What is he worth, especially now? He's not top 10. I doubt anyone wants him except maybe Carolina ( only because they know him).

If we go 7-2 after the bye and miss tge playoffs I am going to be a special kind of pissed
Unless they manage to trade Kendrick Green to KC for Pat Mahomes I don't think you have to worry about it.

Those losses to sub .500 teams bug me the most and tell the most truth. They half assed prepared and got spanked.

So many times I've watched games that looked like they did zero preparation and had never played football before.

They NEVER look like a well oiled machine that puts in the work and goes above and beyond.

Love that he is well spoken.

Hate that he is so prideful and will not replace underperforming players, especially draft picks.

Hate that he is so scared of an assistant coach who could better the team. Or who has something he doesn't.
Big words that mean nothing =/= well spoken.

Other than drafting the wrong positions the last several years and hiring/promoting the wrong coaches, His biggest issue is he does not know how to change a game plan mid game.

He needs the absolute best players at every position
to win big games.

Lombardi was like this. he had several plays that he ran over and over again. the opponent knew what was coming but couldnt stop it. Tomlin is no Lombardi
