Governor Pritzker and Mayor Johnson lose the Bears to Indiana

They could always transform Schenley Park golf course land and build there?
It’s about 65 acres… if they need more land, it’s there in the Park..
But 65 acres oughta be more enough for the stadium, parking lot, practice facility, Steeler offices, and development of restaurants and bars..
The only downfall would be the traffic in and out.. similar to Way Forbes Field was which was almost near the golf course

Possibly

so say, the site of the old Century 3 Mall... put a stadium there... buy up the West mifflin businesses that shuttered when the mall closed

That’s still not big enough. If they bought that the toys r us and the strip mall behind it, still not large enough. Even if you used some usable land on the hill overlooking the mall as annex parking, it would still be a nightmare. You could probably figure out a way to develop a practice facility out of that. The debate there would be amenities v. security and seclusion.

Zero percent chance across the board, CMU would **** a brick. The city and residents would also be up in arms.

Nah, theyd move to the subburbs...

Pittsburgh is one of the only large cities that didnt annex all its suburban areas... its why there are more municipalities per square mile in Allegheny county than anywhere else in the world. Finding land to build a new Stadium on as well as parking needed while staying close enough to utilize the city hotels... and they could first buy up all the developmental land in the area and make a mint... so say, the site of the old Century 3 Mall... put a stadium there... buy up the West mifflin businesses that shuttered when the mall closed ...
out by the airport is perfect

They may want more land but it seems excessive. Land speculation isn’t my thing. Ten to twenty with an acre of perimeter around it would work. Security and seclusion are nice. I think that’s about right. I never built a football facility. If they had gotten on the idea early, they could’ve done something on the opposite river in Hazelwood. It would’ve contributed to the redevelopment.

The airport makes sense except there are federal laws about how near a stadium can be and how high any building can be by airports that were recently enacted... its why the Browns building is still getting flak... they had to trim its size.. and im still not certain they got approval

It seems that it’s official…

Indiana is getting the Bears… they’re really moving out of Chicago!

The state of Indiana is gonna have two NFL football teams!
Imagine that!

Pritzger was probably in the buffett line for his 6th loaded up plate when it all went down.
