Holy **** Steelers

How many of the true starters played in that game??? LOL
Well, we know of at least one guy who isn't a "true starter" -- Haskins.

Washington and McCloud aren't true starters, but they're starting now because of injuries. He had Claypool in that game instead of DJ. The guy was 3-9 for 24 yards and an INT in a full half, for Christ's sake. Yeah, it's time to see what he can do. LOL

I see very little possibility of Ben playing next week. I'd give him less than 10% chance. ****, look at how rusty Rodgers looked yesterday after not getting any practice and trying to play. Ben still hasn't gotten on the same page with his receivers even when he was practicing once or twice a week. We will be stuck with Rudolph. Watt, Haden, Dotson, Turner, and Claypool will all probably be out as well. Next week will be very ugly if that is the case. The Chargers have a good QB, WR, and RB. Their D isn't that great but missing that many players, they will look like the best D we faced after Detroit shut us down for the most part.

Why they refuse to use Miller or McFarland is mind-boggling. Najee was limping the entire game. He will be useless after a few more games of this nonsense but that's how Tomlin does things. Run him into the ground. Banner should get a hat and play - maybe.

Yep... The backup QB has been the Steelers savior for as long as I remember and that goes back to Bradshaw. It's worked out once and that's when a guy named Roethlisberger took over for a guy named Maddox.
In fairness, Maddox had a pretty good season and a half before he was pile-driven by (I think the Ravens) and had that scary neck issue. He was never the same after that. Lots of footstep hearin'.

It's not surprising to me that Rudolph was throwing to McCloud a lot. I would assume that they would have great familiarity with each other as backups.
This is true, and not in a mean way. It is entirely reasonable, even preferred for Mason to lean on a guy he's more familiar with. That makes perfect sense. The part that was kinda dumb was throwing 50 times in that rain. Particularly against a team that was already known to be weak vs the run. That was the game to feature Naj, Ballage and Snell and just pound the ball all game long. You know, like the School for the Deaf and Blind did to us.

Good point. I hadn’t looked at it that way.

Let's settle for mediocrity w/ Rudy then. Got it...

This is funny. We FUMBLED TWICE in OT. Yes, coaches coach about ball security. Players MUST execute that.

You dude, Rudy, play below the line and the TD pass was probably his best highlight in 4 years. He forced the ball to Washington is super tight man to man coverage multiple times. I don't think he completed any of those passes. Ray Ray was getting open so I can see why he threw to him but again, Rudy is Rudy. He had some great escapes but when it matter - he didn't make the throws that had to be made. Slants and comeback routes are not a part of his passing arsenal...

Again, NONE OF US, have seen Haskins play w/ the 1's in a game. Is it time? I'm not sure, but after yesterday, I think it's time to see what the kid from oSU can do.
You are hilarious. Ypu always defend Tomlin. Guess what. He has watched every practice since July plus. So does he know or not?

Yes. I'd rather settle for a mediocre proven backup who has a career record of 5-4-1 than put a guy in who has a career record of 3-10, and more recently had a passer rating of 2.8 (no, that is NOT a misprint) in the first half of the Steelers last preseason game.

No thanks.

I'm not a hater. But I do understand reality. I can't wait to see/read the same complaints when the next coach comes along (ten years from now)...

Whatever. Sunday and next season will be interesting...

Tomlin is a great guy from what I can tell. And in my opinion he is a great leader of men. But everyone's message grows tired eventually and he has always played checkers to top coaches chess and that is simply undeniable from his record in big games against good opponents.

I personally think Tomlin is a good guy. I'd also like to know what Belichick would've done if Haskins was on his team and he saw Haskins on his phone being the "next man up" should Rudy get hurt.

Holy **** I just saw this. Haha. Boom Bermuda. Holy ****. I've never seen someone's posts blow up in their face so fast. Not only will he not be starting if Ben Can't go Sunday, apparently (considering they just grabbed a qb off the Street) he won't even be on the team. ****** hilarious.

Rudolph is not the answer for the future but definitely a capable back up. Haskins isn't better despite having a better arm

Was it Maddox or maybe Tomczak who was sacked by the defender who grabbed his facemask and spun him around about 360 degrees? I think it was Tomczak.

Tomlin made up the line up and Rudlph started and if BEN can't go sunday, Tomlin will pick Rudoph again,....... so YES, I'd say Coach Tomlin knows.

Salute the nation

I never asked him to START. I said, "I'd rather see what Haskins can do" - that does NOT mean start him.

It means set some plays for the kid and simply "see what he can do (with the 1s).

Is that clear enough, Becky???

So to clarify your position if Ben can't go Sunday and if Haskins isn't released over the phone flap you want Rudolph to start. But you want some see what he can do plays for Haskins. How many approximately. Cause that worked like a ****** dream with Dobbs last year against the Stains.

What clarity do you need? Put some plays in for Haskins in the game plan. Period.

That is in normal English.

I'm truly concerned about the 'belief' in Rudy. He's an average back up. Nothing more.

But Rudy starts. Because in your eyes he is a better option at this point. Correct?

If you want me to type "Rudy is the starter" than - here you go, "Start Rudy against the Chargers, if Ben can no play. Coach Canada needs to incorporate some plays, in the offense for Dwayne".

Clear enough for you now???

Yeah cause you finally committed.

I don't think he played great. But he played a **** of a lot better than Goff the 1st round First overall.
Yeah, but is that really saying much? Goff, and this Lions offense make Fichtner, and Canada look like Mike ******* Martz engineering the 00 Rams. Goff’s air yardage from Sunday amounted to, roughly, five feet per throw. The Detroit media has been KILLING the Lions offense, and Goff in particular all season.
