I am officially on the KP8 train

I bet we win that game had Pickett played
The way he was playing today, I don't know. He's got happy feet lately and is taking way too many hits. What's this two concussions in just eight games? As bad as the line is, it's hard to put it all on them when his replacement wasn't running for his life every other play. This team is not going anywhere no matter who the starting QB. Sit him down and coach him up the rest of the year (I know that seems to be lacking on this team but one can hope), invest in OL and OC in the offseason and start fresh next year.

Well, I wouldn’t have drafted Pickett so I’m at least up on him there.
Not even this. But we can ship you a participation trophy if you wish. It has a person sitting on the top of it with an uncanny resemblance to cooch.

When you are an armchair GM it is best to remember that is all you are. So you will be right and wrong some. You better hope for our teams future you are wrong in regards to Kenny.

We shall see how it transpires.

I do hope I am wrong. I’ve been wrong many times. I remember hating the Casey Hampton pick and loving the Rashard Mendenhall pick. So time will tell. But when Hampton became a key contributor I admitted I was wrong and when I saw than Mendenhall didn’t have the vision to be a premier back I was the first to say it.

Good I look forward to when you realize you were wrong about Kenny VS Rudy.😉

I'll give you props, you have all the receipts posting a history of your mock drafts each year.

Fact is both of our last 2 1st round picks were good in college, what does that mean in the pros?
It means they are even more dissapointing putting up the current numbers.
I think league average is the ceiling for Najee and Pickett, and even that looks like a bold statement currently.
Neither guy is carrying the Steelers to a superbowl.
This is crazy. Najee showed he could be a top 10 back in this league as a rookie. He was injured in the preseason and half the year. He is looking good again but they still really aren't throwing to him like last year. Get the big man out in space where he can plow his way down the field. And Pickett is a f'ing rookie. He is handcuffed by a **** OC but still has tremendous work ethic. His ceiling is definitely higher than average. Get him an average+ OL and he will do fine in the next 2 years when you should really be looking at evaluating a young QB. You don't look at his first few games and say he's going to be a bust or he'll be average at best. You have no clue. You are just spewing fake news and clickbait. I said from the beginning, with the age at some positions (leaving soon) and the youth at others with lack of talent, this team is 2 to 3 years out from building a team around KP. I stand by that. Drafting the best OL and DL with our first few picks is essential.

Or in your case not at all.
I have never had a problem admitting when I am wrong. Lame attempt to deflect away from your obsession with Rudy the red nosed backup.

I get the love affair, but Kenny got happy feet really quick with the raven's defense. Do we think he would have moved the ball as well as Trubisky in this game. I care less about the interceptions jut the moving of the ball against Baltimore.

Maybe maybe not. His quick exit put a hault to finding out.

Fiji you need to go smoke some good stuff. For the love of god he is a rookie. I completely stand by my point that this offense hasn't looked much different in 3 or 4 years. We were screaming about missed guys open for that whole time and over 4 different QB's now and two different OC's. That has to tell you something. KP certainly has lots to learn and improve on. I am not anointing him as the savior or denigrating him as a flop, I am simply pointing out your analysis is way over the top and way premature along with ignoring all the similarities in issues to what we have already seen. You and others just need to chill the **** out and just wait and see how he progresses until at least the end of next season, minimum. He has shown growth.
Not saying he hasn’t shown growth and I truly wish us the best with him

The KP apologist crowd around here is plenty strong tho, just read the threads after any game he pees down his leg

And there ain’t enough stinky medicinal loud out there to make me not see what’s going on, thanks for your concern tho

I’ll keep bringing the contrarian view to all the homers jizzing themselves over KP until he actually looks like a franchise QB or is gone/irrelevant

This was the first time this season where it looked like the game was too big for Kenny...

You could see it right away...

I think being around the Steelers at their practice facility while with Pitt, made Kenny fully understand the magnitude, and more importantly physicality of the Raven games.

As I mentioned ---my biggest concern with Kenny is that he looks frail to me...

I have an opinion backed up by statistics. Najee was never close to a top 10 RB, he was just a volume guy with a low ypc who caught alot of dumpoffs. He has been outplayed by the backups this year and its been a year since he had a 100yd rushing game. Show me another top 10 back who hasn't rushed for 100yds all year. You can be optimistic, but statistics are facts, the rest is fake news and wishful thinking.

Dude this is an opinion based forum. Facts have no relevance here.

This is Kenny Pickett. I thought it was his biggest weakness entering the draft. He'll improve with time, but it was going to be an issue this year.

Kenny picked up nice yards running. Maybe/probably he settles down. He left after the second series. To think he would have "happy feet" the entire game after two series is crazy. On his happy feet. We don't know what he saw. We do know he made a few quick decisions right away and gained some yards via scrambling. If that is Lamar or Hurts he has great vision. Pickett, it equates to happy feet.

He was in 2 serious. On the 2nd play of the game(I believe), he took a big hit....where two of our OL simply let someone run right up the middle untouched.

He saw an 8 men stacked box headhunting for him and his only protection are his legs and his OLmen, which include Moore and Dotson of course. As long as the other teams don't respect Canada and his lack of creativity Pickett nor any other rookie QB will be able to thrive.

So, wait, let's see if I have this straight -- you're blaming Pickett and his "happy feet" for spinning away from a sure sack by the first unblocked defender (Queen, who Dotson allowed to run straight through the A gap), then getting tossed on his head by a second unblocked defender (Smith, while Daniels just stood there)?

One of the reasons not to start a rookie behind a crap line is that often it causes really bad pocket behavior… since that was a legitimate gripe about pickett going into the draft, it certainly was risky and stupid… the reality is despite what the bama and OSU guys want, we probably need to spend this top pick on oline help or we are just going to become another crap team like the browns chasing that never to be found franchise qb before we have a team ready for him… if pickett fails so be it, but you don’t spaz out after a half season of games because nothing a rookie qb does correlates to success or failure down the road…

Behind the worst OL in the league last year, I'll take Najee as a rookie any day. Now that Najee is healthy, he is looking like a beast again. Steelers power football. We just need to get an above-average OL. They were the worst last year and have improved this year as the season has gone on and Najee got healthy but they are still below average overall.

I’d thin k this current OL is still ranked bottom 1/4 of the league.

UNTIL this coaching / GM decide High investment (NOT just 1 but several) draft picks into the OL / DL, they will remain bottom feeders.

Salute the nation
