If you got to choose who would you pick to coach the Steelers

Dark Horse candidate, Kevin O'conner, OC for the LA Rams.

Ernie Adams...haha. j/k, I'd definitely find a guy like him for behind the scenes real power behind the throne.

It would be like months of interviewing
and research before I came to a selection. I'd also pick a OC&DC.

Probably someone close to home or with strong ties to the city and it's history.

Okay, I'm doubling down on the Colts DC Matt Eberflus. Was reading up on him and his college coach said he was the most intense player he'd ever coached. Combine that with how intense he is as a DC and demands intensity/discipline/focus of his players -- and that's exactly what this Steeler team needs IMO.

I'd trust him to hire a competent OC as he already knows a great offensive mind in Frank Reich, and I don't think he'd just hire a buddy. I'm sold.

Kellen Moore or Leftwich.

Cant believe I’m saying this but Kyle shanahan 49ers… I’ve been in the bay area back and forth last few years and i like the way the whole team plays… with a lot of pop.. they tackle, block, run n pass… we have better players that the 9ers but the 9ers coaches just do better job putting the players in position to make plays… we draft a RB #1 they get a guy way down in the draft guess which guy is doing better? love to see Harris in that offense though Harris could best flanker in nfl in right offense, use him like GB uses adams AND run him out of backfield! their big mistake was in trading Buckner it was like us trading Iron Head 2, the blood and guts of the team… but I think the 9ers are going to be that team no one wants to play come playoff time.

That is a good approach to hiring. A DC or a OC that excels as a brilliant mind. But be careful you want a X and O coach that excels in that area on O or D or both. If it is just a motivational guy you might be just swapping one problem for another. Not that the guy doesn't sound appealing. Also the approach is obviously more realistic as we aren't poaching an Arians, etc off any respectable team.

Think of all the high draft pics after two no win seasons.
Meh, cooch would pick up two of Cleveland's number 1s after each trade deadline. He would also have YouTube and Walterfootball on speed dial. Hard to top that. Following the draft he would break down the draft picks and even though he drafted them there would be a list of players that he would have picked had he not picked who he picked. Scanning the forum with his one trusty eye he would come up with a thorough list he compiled while driving his luxury automobile.

Beat me to it. Or stepping Bob.

No more stepping coaches.

Just curious DIC, why would you pass on him?

Remeber I said currently. I have a little fear of that Mahomes may be covering some of his misses similar to how BEN's ability covered some of our OCs misses. Also I am little more partial to a defensive minded coach. Bieniemy most certainly has his credentials but I'd like a deeper search and if he turned out as our new HC, I'd welcome him open arms.

Eugene Chung

There are no Asian head coaches. My Korean wife is very upset about that.*

I call her "my vagina from China" even though she's Korean.

* Just being sarcastic, she couldn't care less about football.

Do we, though?? Maybe at a few positions, but overall roster, I'm not so sure about that

Rather have an Oscar Meyer Wiener coach
than an Urban Legend Meyer Whiner coach
I actually would have loved to see Meyer take over at Penn State, but that ship has sailed, unfortunately. He's an outstanding college football head coach. Some guys just aren't cut out for the NFL.

Argueably over the last 10-12 years we have had the most consistant talented roster in the nfl,............. this year...........not so much.

Have we? Seriously I am not sure we have or that our hated coach gets more out of players and makes them look better than they are since most suck when they leave. Not all but most.

look on offense they don’t rally have about outside of the left tackle and on defense they have a linebacker that’s everywhere kinda like Shaz was but they aren’t loaded. The player that typifies the 9ers is the TE.. he was a 4th round pick that plays offense like watt plays defense, like the fate of the world hangs in the balance lol its just painful for me to watch the Steelers but I can watch the 9ers in terms of how football should be played goes without saying I’d rather die a slow painful death than to ever “root” for them

I don't care who the coach is, as long as he's a black guy.

I am going to stick with making my choice from realistic options. I would bring Leftwich in. Feel like he has done a great job working his way up. Obviously has some familiarity with the Steelers org. An offensive mind which we need. I suppose others like the Jags will be looking into him big time but if I had my druthers, it would be Lefty..

Maybe we can trade Tomlin to some Jags for picks and bring in Leftwich. One can dream. LOL

If there was any way we could figure out how to bring Haely back as an OC, I would jump at it.

He may be an *******, but he can run an offense.
